I was wondering, Is there was a way to extract the Soldier's Peak area? or would I have to re-create it myself. I'd like to keep as close to the already seen content as possible and I'm not too clued on when it comes to this extracting thing.

Much appreciated

All the DLC files are encrypted. Whilst it is technically possible to decrypt the archives (and thus extract them), distributing their content in mods would be illegal. Unless you get express consent from Bioware, best to just recreate it. I don't have it myself, but from what I've seen it would appear it just uses base Origins models anyway, which makes sense seeing as it originated as cut content and was day 1 DLC.

Ok, thank for the info.

Made plans in case it wasn't exctractable or illegal to use. Not a big deal.
Thanks again :)

Really? I thought you could use this tutorial to extract the DLC areas? http://social.biowar...r_mods_tutorial

As stated I'd need to get permission to use that content in my mod. No use getting it all ready to go and be told "You cannot use this" But thank you for the Info Pizzapicante I'll be sure to give it a try if I can get permission to use it.

Any idea who I would talk to about that? and how?

I dont think anyone's going to tell you anything, same way you can use the Awakwning models and areas for mods, unless its a comercial thing I think theyre just encrypted because releasing them for the toolset would have costed money and Mike Laidlaw was directing by that time,

any way I think http://social.bioware.com/249/ helped Sunjammer set up the Weekly Digest, he must be an admin or something, maybe you could just ask him.

That's not a tutorial for extracting the DLC. That's just how to use the assets in the toolset once the ERFs are decrypted.

The reason they are encrypted is not to save money, it's for the same purpose as for any other form of DRM - anti-piracy.
