I've already played DA2 and it's tied to my account, however when I try and play it, it starts some EA activation programme (I think that's what it is) and the programme says:

We're Sorry an Error Has Occurred
This application is unable to run on guest accounts or Windows accounts without sufficient privilages. Please log into another windows account.

Now my account is the only one on this computer and it is administrator with full privilages. So wtf is going on?

All help appreciated as I can't play this at the moment. Thanks.

You can try right clicking on the launcher then run as administrator that is my best guess

I cant seem to get past the activation pop-up. It says validating and stops from there. I left it for hours thinking maybe it would eventually validate but didnt. I unistalled and then installed again. All the numbers were entered and I'm already registed through EA games. HELP!

I have the same problem and have been trying to deal with this through EA help chat for two days. So far no solution. If I finally get one I'll post again. Otherwise the game is going into the trash.

unfortunately the best response anyone seems to have recieved from EA at the moment is 'This is a known issue, and we are currently attempting to remedy the situation'

not what anyone wants to hear i know, but there it is. Hopefully they will be able to bring their validation system back online soon.

Thanks Fraghappy. I did get a live person on the phone and that's what they said. I love Bioware but I really hate what EA has done to my gaming experience, having to log in to play a game is awful.

I have registered the game with bioware, and while it will not let me sync it with my profile, it has successfully been registered here.

Unfortunately it has no effect on EA's validation server issues. It would seem that the days where a simple CD-key was enough of a security measure.

It has always shocked me that recently, publishers have begun to force their customer base to jump through hoops online, to play a single player, offline, game. I personally went and bought the disk for this game, from a retailer in town, so that i didn't have to rely on my wireless internet, as the weather has become somewhat bad of late, and has been interfering with the internet connection.

still. i suppose there is no such thing as an offline game in the eyes of most current publishers, as DLC is an ever present threat.

Stupid activation thing just sits there after everything is entered. I'm registered here and all my codes entered and still.......nothing. Anyone know any tips to get activation process moving?

Nope. Going to have to wait until Monday for EA to fix their server issue.

I'm not trying to ruin your day, but people have experienced this issue in comments created 6-7 months ago, though EA still couldnt succeed in finding the fix for the issue (i have it too). :)

In that case, I'm glad they only stole $20 from me. I just cancelled my sub to SWTOR. I'm not giving EA or Bioware any more money. 2 weeks until Diablo 3.

Ya, just did a clean install of windows, installed DA2, was going to play though it since it has been awhile and it will not validate. They really know how to ****** off customers(EA that is).

This is infuriating. After reinstalling the game, I was so relieved that I found the manual to input the registration key. But, that's not enough. Need to validate the game with my account info and it just hangs.

THERE IS  NO EA IN HERE.  Of course there can no such answer here.  Go ahead, join great herd of mostly ill-mannered sorts running around acting like children in here, but don't expect EA to interact.

The same problem on the Polish forum. We think EA has problem with their servers. But only one thing is hard to deal with for me. First DA didn't require this so why EA causes problems now?

Sorry for my spelling but I'm not realy good at foreign languages ^^.

Sorry for the late response, we've been looking into this and it should be resolved now - apologies on lack of info up to now and the hiccup.

Thank you, as you've said, problem has been resolved :D

EDIT: DLC wasn't what I expected, they're unlockable and Black Emporium is only 13megs

I am having a problem with DA2.  I have uninstalled and ran as admin but it is still freezing and coming out of full screen mode.  What do I do.  I would like to play my game uninteruped with out glitches.
