Now you get .5 damager per dex and strength. Not just the 1 point per strength.
But what about the bows?
Im assuming its fixed too...at least I hope....

No, they were not.hoorayforicecream wrote...
They were bugged. My guess is that the dagger fix is a lot less game-changing for NPCs than fixing archery would have been. The archery fix will likely come sometime, but they probably broke it up to get it out faster.
What was wrong with crossbows?AWJ9999 wrote...
Bows were never bugged. Only crossbows were.

I think they only fixed daggers because the bow thing interacts with the Shale thing and it was just too much work to "fix"... (which is why they left it as is in the vanilla release)

If anything, Strength ought to make reloading quicker, but that's just wishful thinking.

Crossbows receive no damage bonus at all, though.

crossbows should not get any modifiers from stats anyway. It is not a skill based weapon. It is just a point and click doodad.
The only bonus that could possibly make sense would be a quicker reload speed with a high strength.

Making sense isn't always compatible with enjoyable gameplay. Nobody's going to use crossbows if they don't scale from at least one stat.
To be honest, I don't understand why dexterity increases the damage of any weapon.

Bows are meant to be pulled back a certain distance and you are just going to throw your aim off or barely get any extra punch if you pull back farther.
If its a re curve bow (most effective) then pulling it back farther does not help since the string/arrow accelerates faster as gets closer to leaving the bow.
Bottom line if you are able to pull back a 30 pound draw bow that is the right height for you pulling it back farther (using more muscle) would simply make your aim poor (terrible form) and would not contribute to anymore damage from the arrow.
Also dexterity should be a contributing factor when it comes to crossbows. Imagine, your trying to shoot for their soft squishy non armored head but because your lack of dexterity you hit their shield. Hitting someone is easy, hitting someone where it hurts is much much tougher.
But oh well it is a game.

Hm, It is strange that bows get damage boost from strength.

Georg Zoeller (BioWare) will be creating and adding a bow fix sooner rather than later. I believe.
Is this an assumption or did you read it somewhere?

I think everyone understands that bows werent BUGGED per se. Why do people keep repeating this? We know it wasn't strictly speaking a bug but we want them more powerful again.
Everyone talks about fixing bows. That is why we question your sources. They aren't bugged. They don't need fixed.
