Also - you can choose to be a loyal faithful one man guy, or are a randy boostard.

If you as a gamer choose that path, its not the games failing for presenting you that option, its the players failing for taking it. Some of the cards were quite tasteful as well - they were a way of presenting a sex scene without presenting a sex scene - and if you didn't choose to sleep around - you didn't get them.

It fits perfectly into the story if thats the character you play as.

If you don't take that path, it doesn't appear in your game at all.

The question is irrelevant, something you don't seem to realize. Unless you plan on demonstrating for me how the game forced ample amounts of gratuitous sex on you or on all the other ways the game is artless, your criticism is pointless. 

Counter-point: Jade Empire forces Space Invaders on the player everytime he travels to a new main hub. Is Jade Empire suddenly worthless?

Point to all these wonderful examples of gratuitous sex in the Witcher 2 and we might have a conversation about it. I beat the game ten minutes ago. The game "shoveled" Ves and Tris onto me, and the former was completely optional. You seem to be imagining the Witcher 2 at least as some sex-crazed fantasy devoid of narrative, characters, or any other element to it.

No more than any of the BioWare games that have come before or after it. In fact, I would dare say TW1 was less gratuitous than any of the Dragon Age or Mass Effects.

No, sorry. You claimed that Witcher 2 is mature and arty. A game which is mature doesn't handle sex in a gratuitous, audience titillating manner. Justify the meaningless, gratuitous, tacked-on sex within your claim.

If you put the sex aside (seriously we're talking about a few scenes here most completely optional) the world is deep and rich, the politics are very realistic. And the story is actually quite good if you're receptive to the subjects.

Razman if you didn't like it that's your right, and there are other people in your case, but don't involve the "unified community of gamers" please, because there you lose credibility

Players of Planets 3.0 were pretty united.

They had to be because you had to swap discs or if you were lucky email turns to each other. If you weren't unified, the game broke down outside of the game world.

I look at it as educating myself, and realising how stunted the console market is. I'm inquisitive, not eltist.

PC has always been the best gaming platform (best graphics, best gameplay, best story) unfortunately you have to have some brains to upgrade your PC and follow the tech news to stay on top of the games which sadly more and more people dont care/bother to do.
Consoles are easier and quicker to use but the game s has to be quicker and EASIER to play due to just controller use. Will games on PC will always be better and elite? YES Will more people buy and play console games yes. Why? Cause people are more and more lazy.
