Instructions from their PR department. Keep people guessing.

This.

As long as we're guessing, there will be people who will say "guys, wait and see, it might be brilliant". Then, when it sucks, it'll be too late to do anything about it.

So when Blade Runner doesn't tell you whether Deckard is a replicant, it's under instructions from PR too?

I'd be very surprised if PR didn't tell them all to keep mum until EC drops. But I don't see why this is a bad thing, when every single tweet gets so thoroughly dissected and every word taken out of context/used as an instigator of panic on these boards.

i've said this before and I know others have as well

As long as they keep everything vague enough and allow people to beleive that indoctrination theory may be valid people will continue to play the game and the multiplayer and spend money on those card packs and that is what EA wants right now, garrunteed the ec isn't going to explain anything its just going to continue to leave eaveryone guessing so the game can be milked to death, and then when the ME mmo comes out thats when we'll find out that it was all a dream and the events of ME2 and ME3 didn't happen because shepard was indoctrinated from sovereign on the citadel as a last revenge for defeating it and as such the council races will begin electrin avatars to prepare for the reaper armies.....blah...blah.blah and so on. beasically I think this was all planned from the get go.:wizard::whistle::wizard:

Also this ties up very nicely where the lead writers mind was at rEAgarding the games ending.

No, we said he couldn't wake up on the citadel because he was on the out side of the station.

There are many ways around this (shep being "outside") if citadel intact as jessica suggests.

No there is not.....Have you seen the pics showing his location?
He is too injjude to move fast....He is out side of the citidel. And Physics say whenyou have kinetic force, said force is applied tothe opjects seround it can cause ojects to move.....And then there's the law of mometum, an object in motion stays in motion to it reaches an equal or opposit force...And none of that is in space. Als lastly their is everything that happens in the end of ME1 when you walked out side the citadel.....You can knock being like Krogan and geth destroiers of to space at that time due to the low atmosphere even thought they are heavy.

Key word here is space.....a void with no air. Shep has no suit to hold air for him and has no way to breath is space clearly. So before we start with who survives what, tell me first how shep would breath in space?

the argument never ceases

thats where the wrtiers minds were at, they never planned for IT because they beleived the game to be a wasteland, that any DLC after the event of ME3's ending would be reflecting a wasteland. It was planned from the get go and as such we cannot trust anything they say regarding it positively or negatively.

citadel's mass effect barriers could still be operational.

The citadel has not been destroyed.

As confirmed by Weekes at PAX, the Citadel has barriers that hold air on the station over the open-air areas. This is how you get those lovely space views above the Citadel without all the air flying away.

Now, I answered your question - care to answer mine? How do you know which explosions are unsurvivable without having survived any yourself?

1. After an explotion like that?
2. Do you remeber the end of ME1 when you walk on the outside of the citadel and knocked krogans off it?

No, I'm refering to after the explotion.....The tech would not sevive an expotion like that.
Also, you clearly forgot the walk out side the citadel in ME1...
http://social.biowar...75/blog/212630/

Also, post a pick of anytime you were in an open room to space on the citadel.

1. Yes.
2. You were on the outside of the Council Tower in ME1, not the whole Citadel.

And why not? Remember ME2 intro? Normandy is being cut apart by the collector weapons. Barriers come up to prevent the atmosphere from venting. Otherwise no way they would survive vacuum with just a breather mask.

Explosion was not even all that big. The wards just kind of break apart rather than the whole place being pulverized. Depending on how well shielded... wherever Shepard was, could be survivable.

Anyway, like most internet discussions this is turning into a waste of time. It's not even likely that Shep was still on the citadel when it blew up. In Destroy ending he's shown in rubble which is likely to be on Earth. Only way to be there is he caught a ride back down same way he came up.

Else he's on one of the Wards... drifting apart in a possibly decaying orbit. intersting situation to be in, but he's seen worse.

The citadel is invincible when it is closed down

is it really hard to beleive that, after a few explosions, the barriers could still be operational?

Youre making an assumption that the tech is destroyed...nowhere is there any proof of the sort.

jess is telling us that the citadel has not been destroyed, as discussed at PAX, and shep is on the citadel.

Case closed IMO.

Hmm there was that one time time aboard a Soviet capsule in the 80s... does explosive flatulence in close confines count?

The arms are open. And question is not directed at the citadel stability but the fuctions of the tech inside it.  And last time I check, fire of intense blaze destroy tech.

Not all teh the normady blew up yet. Some did function while otherparts did not. That even more of a sign that the barrier would not be stable for the citadel after an explotion like that being that the vast majority of the normady was exposed to space with only one small part not....And Joker still had a breathing mask at that part. The still leaves the question of breathing.

1. No that's not proof. You have to prove where Shaperd is first. also...http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=UvVSSjog3P8#t=325s

2.It still the same area, with the arms open as well. It is still proof.

I still maintain that the ending was deliberately left open so they could flog DLC. All that happened was that they utterly and catastrophically misjudged their audience and got called on it, and have been limiting damage ever since.

Again, your stupid. The IT states that Shepard wouldn't be on the Citadel to begin with. What happend after Shepard was hit by Harby's beam was the indoctranation attempt by the reapers. It never happend, the Citadel never blew up because Shepard never got on it to begin with.
Stop being stupid, and use your damn brain you twit.

I would be careful with how you respond in the future, ive reported your replies twice now.

Jessica has already confirmed that shepard is on the citadel. Youre wrong.

Ok, lets set a couple things straight. Everyone comes to this thread and says "The devs aren't going to tell us anything about the ending because they want to keep it a secret", yet when Merizan comes out with a quote supposedly against the IT you say "Hey, Merizan said it! Its true! Now we know IT isn't real!".

Do you see the hypocrisy in this? Merizan has admitted that she does not know all the details. She is simply the community manager. Not a writer. If you want details, talk to one of the writers, as my original post was about. But even then, you won't get details because THEY ARENT TALKING ABOUT THE EC RIGHT NOW. Merizan's words were meaningless. She could have easily been lying to try and sway people to forget about the IT so that if the EC confirms the IT, there will be a surprise. Plus, do you really think she would give something like that away? If her superiors caught her spoiling the ending, she'd get her ass reeled in quick because it is obviously their intention to NOT spoil the EC at this point. Disregard her tweet.

Upset fans on forum =/= Majority of fans.

lolwut

As you so aptly taught me how to say. Thanks :)

Your point could not be more incorrect. A week or so after the game's release there was a poll on the forums about the ending. 3 choices: A. You hated it and think it should be re-done. B. You thought it was ok, but it needed clarification. or C. You thought it was fine.

Ready? 54,000 people voted. 50,000 for A. 3,000 for B. And only 1,000 for C.

Does 50,000 out of 54,000 sound like a majority to you? If not, what is? Just curious.

Have a nice day! ;)
