it is not fiction it is the reality: brune traits are stronger than blonde .

And blonde is stronger than redhead, and black skin pigment is stronger than white, so by that logic everyone ins ME should be black.

Skin color is actually a polygenic trait.

All you have to do is to change Miranda's hair colour.

Miranda Lawson's appearence is based on that of  Yvonne Stravoski. Just change hair from black to blond and voila you get a picture of that moving lady in your profile picture.

I take it you're a fan of the works of Miss Stravoski. Am I right?

<3 when people don't understand basic concepts of genetics and the consequences of a single, global society on genetic diversity.

Unless people know genetics, but insist people will still attract more to their affinity group and perform self-selection in a future where racism/sexism/xenophobia/homophobia and geographic and cultural boundaries don't exist? Is that it?

Q: Why no blonde chicks in Mass Effect 3?
A: Blonde hair looks crap and unnatural in the game.

As for why the developers have produced so few blond NPC's but quite a few red heads that says more about the fact that they prefer red heads to blondes.

Them making new polls for femshep untill a redhead won kinda fits with your claim ;)

It has been stated in one of the books (can't think of which) that the recessive trait for blonde hair has become somewhat of a rarity. They specifically draw attention to this in regards to Kahlee Sanders.

Oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh..............That's science-fiction in action! Huzzah!

No, just fiction.

Recessive traits don't work that way.

Redheads/blonds are dying out and even today we could lose the redhead allele in our lifetimes.

Actual explanation: Making blonde hair look natural in a game is much, much, much harder than other hair colors, unless you want the characters to look like they haven't taken a shower in months.

Maybe because I think blondes are overrated, but I never really cared all that much about their absence for whatever reason. Don't seem to understand why people care so much.

I'm not sure what the hoopla over blonde hair is either. It might be because of the "stupid" stereotype, which isn't exactly flattering.

There's that but the whole notion of people being so attracted to blonds has always confounded me. I'm a guy and I don't get it. To me blondes aren't the the pinnacle of attractiveness but they seem to be to so many. In some cases just being blonde and ugly is enough for some guys. Go figure...

Blondes and redheads will not "die out". That's not how phenotype genetics work. They will be rarer, yes, but any person who has ever had a blonde or redhead in their ancestry carries the genes for those hair colours in their DNA. If they happen to mate with another person who also has those genes in their ancestry, even if their current partner is not a blonde or redhead, there is a chance that the recessive genes will be selected and produce a child with those hair colours. That's how you could end up with a blonde kid from, say, two Asian parents who had a blonde ancestor, even though the chances of that would be extremely small.

So remotely small that the ancestors would have to be an immediate parent or grandparent for it to be feasible in the slightest.

You don't carry the genes of all your ancestors with you.  You have 1/2 of your parents genes, 1/4 of your grandparents, 1/8 of your great-grandparents, 1/16 of your great-great-grandparents etc.

And Blonde hair is thought to be determined by a single gene locus, so if your great-grandmother was blonde and every other one of your ancestors was asian, your grandparent would be a carrier of the allele, your parent would have a 1/2 chance of being a carrier, and there would be a 1/2 chance of them passing that allele on to you.  So thats a 1/4 chance you actually carry the allele, with a 1/8 chance of you having it and passing it on.  Couple that with the low chance your spouse is also a carrier and passes it on, and probability itself is against you having any chance of having a blonde child.

Now imagine Mass Effect's world, where its a global society with no language or culture barriers now that we've started exploring the final frontier.  Just the relative rarity of the gene itself will cause it to be diluted among the general population (the allele frankly does not exist in a huge amount of the population, its restricted essentially to those of european ancestry).  While the gene doesnt have to be expressed to still be there, a bunch of generations of poor luck results in an already rare trait becoming rarer.

Think of it like the Krogan: very few females are born fertile because of the genophage, which is why in a few generations the Krogan would be extinct, if our Sheps didnt swoop in to save the day.

Well, default femShep WAS going to be blonde, but "some people" had to ****. A lot.

Their entire basis for not wanting a blonde femShep was sadly because of that ridiculous old stereotype.

Just goes to you how stupid and ignorant people can be.

Nah.. Yvonne is Yvonne, Miranda is Miranda. They scanning wasn't -that- accurate tbh. :? That concept are looks pretty awful, imo. I don't usually like blondes that much, guess that's why.

Nah... it wasn't for that. There were a few of those "durr blondstupid" people, but most of us didn't like the blond girl cause Shepard was already a redhead. Personally, I didn't like the face, though the in-game face is way worse, she looks way off.

Now, picture the actual DefaultFemmShep (cartoon teen girl) with blond hair.

Because in Revlation it said that due to that being a blonde is a recessive trait, it became very rare for someone to be a natural blonde, why we don't see any people who dye their hair blonde i have no clue

There's some weird form of resentment against blondes, which is actually quite common. Anyone remember the outrage when Craig was announced as the new Bond? People must still associate blond/blue eyes with the "aryan master race" nonsense and subconsciously blame all blondes for it.

It was a bit more than a few. Not to mention those that claimed that being blonde was automatically catering to a sexualized shepard...  Talk about biggotry being thrown against the blonde shep back then... It was quite ugly, in my opinion (the biggotry, not the model).
