I have been playing the Turian Soldier a lot recently and I enjoy him but the ridiculousness of him not being able to roll is beyond comprehension. He is not OP so why deny him increased mobility that would improve the class? It makes NO sense. Couldn't BW just add Turian rolling in the next patch. Many people would appreciate it.

The fact that he rolls from cover to cover just makes is more annoying.

Exactly. Is it true you have N7 weapons at X? I have heard that.

Yep....

I wouldn't mind a sidestep feature like the Geth if they can't roll.

Or even make them ONLY be able to sidestep and have no frontal roll ability.

Yes. You can check my MM if you want.

You play on PC, right? It's even worse on consoles because it takes forever to turn.

But yeah, I'd be ecstatic if Turians got a roll. If you take into account creative use of Krogan heavy melee, Turians are actually less mobile than Krogan.

I must admit I am a bit jelly of that Javelin X and Saber X.

You can keep that Scorpion X though, I never want to see one again.

So... in return should we buff human health and shields to Turian levels, or nerf Turian shields to human levels?

Stuff happens for a reason people. I'd love to be able to roll on my Batarian soldier, but then his blade armor would scuff the newly buffed floor.

My turian sentinel whole heartedly agrees with this post. It would be far and away my favorite class if he could dodge.

@Fisterbear- they could just make it a slower side step for balance. The fact he can't dodge is pointless and against ME lore. Turians aren't lumbering Krogans. They're quick. And since they can't dodge, they're outshone by Krogans in both of their classes, except maybe soldiers, where marksmen arguably makes up for their shortcomings.

A balance needs to be found, give them a slow sidestep or something. The classes without rolls get screwed a lot on gold, expecially against the one hit kill classes. Krogans most of all.

Ok, what? Krogan sent better than Turian sent? Are we playing the same game here?

Would it be an alternative to make them immune to stagger? I think it's bizarre that the beefiest races are the ones that are easiest to stagger, to the point that it seems like a bug. Krogan vanguard's stagger resistances compared to KrSo and KrSe would also suggest it's a bug.

Regardless, I'd suggest that it might be easier to convince Bioware to fix stun-locking and stagger rather than change a very intentional design element that might requiring added additional animations to the game.

Yeah. Turians don't have enough tankishness to warrant having such low mobility.

I agree. Even for balancing reasons, it's kind of ridiculous that they can't roll at all. Turian should at least have a slower than normal roll since they can't be as durable as Batarians or Krogan can be.

If you can't roll, you should be immune to stagger/instakills.

I support this wholeheartedly. My experience running with Turian Sentinel in on Silver matches always go as follows:

- Prepare to get away from flanking
- Sticky cover! Curse you waist-high counters!
- Grenade explodes/Hunter shoots at me and depletes shields.
- Well, at least shield gate kept me al- I'm dead.

I don't mind if they have a dodge that requires some degree of precision to use. They aren't beefy enough to tank hits.

I've always felt the Turian should be able to dodge in at least one direction. Turians have less resilience than a krogan and more than a human. it makes sense that they should have mobility somewhere in the middle too. Just give them a sidestep like the geth, but no roll. At least then you could dodge rockets and charges when you see them coming, but you would still be significantly less agile than any of the normal weight classes.

The heavier classes should have some extra kind of defense against insta-kills. On Gold the benefit of their extra shields really doesn't stand up to much.

I don't think they should be immune, but they should have a chance to break it at least.

Should definitely be immune/have resistance to stagger, though.

I love turian soldier. The mechanics of marksman can be used to great effect with so many different weapons ( i personally like shotguns). The mobility takes a lot of getting used to.

Farming FBW for many hours a day for the first month mostly.  Also a little luck.

Like I said, Turian Sentinel is one of my favorite classes.  He's certainly one of the best rounded classes, and can contribute in any group with any enemy type.  He's a true jack of all trades, master of none.

But evaluating him outside of a support role, yes, I'd say Krogan is better.  Which makes it better on average in pugs because it's rare people understand teamwork, and will constantly rewrite biotic and tech explosions with the opposite power, making the turian sentinel far less useful.  Frankly I find him most effect with cryo ammo and a falcon, and I can equip that on my krogan sentinel just as easily, AND get more shots off before having to run for cover.

I like the Turian Soldier a lot, don't get me wrong but the lack of mobility is crippling sometimes and really is unjustified.
