Turians can roll from cover to cover and Garrus rolls all the damn time. So why can't they roll whenever they want? They probably can't roll forward or back though. They would likely bust their faces on the ground. So they should hop forward, back, and roll to the sides.

The turian has natural stability, making mderate or higher recoil weapons easier to handle, if he gets a roll then he should have the stability benefit removed. That and the batarian and krogan should too get an evasion manouvre, only fair in this line of logic.

^ No, foolish statements are foolish.

Turians need a roll. Nothing would be OP or unbalanced.

Lore wise Turians can't crouch. I believe Garrus mentioned it somewhere on earth.
But I agree in giving them more mobility for gameplay sake.

What? aren't they crouching when they hide behind cover ?

They should remove the movement speed penalty when aiming. That would be perfect: fits lore, gameplay and its unique.

What Garrus actually said was that Turians can't duck, but that he would improvise.

Plus, he was making a joke. He didn't mean that they literally couldn't duck.

a simple sidestep/shoulder duck, OR a bit more shields. He is a soldier after all, and unlike the HS, he doesn't have insta shield restore that AR gives.

He def needs to be a bit more survivable. A lot of fun to play, but goes down way way to fast. Add some survivability by dodge or shields, and he might replace a few infiltrators in gold, which would be welcome....

^ That's true and it would make the most sense. Thing is, Turians already have a roll animation.

I can frequently top the scoreboard on gold with my Turian soldier that uses nothing but proxy and my talon V, even over infiltrators. But it does intail a considerable amount of dying as things like warp will kill you, and when you get hit with one in gold there's always another on it's way. Not to mention grenades, brute charges, instakills and the multitude of other things thats require a dodge to avoid.

I actually think (and believe it's been said on this thread too) that the most sensible option would be to give them the ability to roll, but only from site to side and not backward and forward.

If Marurader can Roll... why not Turians?!?!
If Turian can roll from cover to cover... Why not all the time?!?!

I had enough of phantom insta-killing my turians... no need to mention not being able to dodge Brute`s close range swing 3 times in a row just because I cannot roll.

yeah I have actualy surprised myself a few times, beating out infilthys with my TS with either hurricane or saber (I love the talon, but find so much  fun on the TS to use one of those. But I may have to try it out).  You are exatly right tho, I die more than I am used to and/or have to hide a lot more than I would like...

I doubt there is anyone who wouldn't want to see Turians rolling.

Devs could just take few chips off the hp in return if they think it's supa OVARPOWARD!
