Wow, you've just further proved you're an idiot by demonstrating that you cannot do math (or even just plain test it yourself and observe).  A raging Krogan with a proper spec and a melee amp is one-shotting most things.

A Krogan has high base melee damage, and then you add on...

80% rage damage
60% fitness
75% martial artist
100% melee damage amp
30% tech armor
25% weapon mod

I watch phantoms fly across the map on Gold all the time.

Just to .02 here, N7 rank is meaningless. If player A doesn't want to promote+relevel characters, player A has a low N7. Does that mean they are bad? Nope, could mean they've played more than you, and promoted less.

Yea. I've seen tons of good players with like 200 N7. Skill > All as I said before.

And to make it to that enraged mode? Multiple hits on the majority of enemies. I've tested this plenty. Full melee dmg stats, melee amp, etc.

It happens to be a great little point starved tank.

I play as a Geth infiltrator with a Widow X and a Geth SMG X. The reason I use the Geth SMG is because with Ultra Light Materials V it weighs almost nothing so it is a good backup weapon with no negatives. Also very useful on gold.

Also, Ultra Light Materials isn't bugged on the Geth SMG.

Wrong again.  With a melee amp, a rageless Krogan is doing more damage than a Krogan in full blood rage, and is one-shotting most things.  It only takes 2 hits to go into bloodrage, too.  Without a melee amp, it's still only taking you one simultaneous burst / melee shot on most enemies.

You clearly haven't tested as much as you say you have.  You are doing it wrong.

Your right, my point isn't that their are experts who can rock a lvl 1.  My point is that it doesn't take long to reach 20 and an extra few levels will always make you stronger.  You can do very well on a team as a lvl 1.  But you will do better at higher levels, simply because you have higher lvl skills.  As a expert you should also know that you can level to 20 very fast on farm games which give the same xp as regular gold games.  Since the XP is the same you should be polite and play a few farms before you go to regular play.

There is nothing wrong with being a lvl 1 on gold so long as you know what your doing.  Common curtisy dictates though that you spend an hour getting a few levels under your belt before you do so.  As I stated earlier in reply to the OP your welcome to play in a gold game as a lvl one, if I don't feel like taking a chance on you I just go find another game myself.  However, if the whole team is level 20 and other people are voting to kick them, then I bring up my mic and politly ask them if they wouldn't mind changing to something higher level.  If they don't listen then I tend to vote with the rest of the team, if the group has consensous and you don't wish to listen than you go.  If no one cares but me then I leave, thats my problem not the skillful level 1.

Now if they ever remove farming then my point is invalide, and if your skilled then welcome to gold, I may not personally want to play with you, but plenty of others will and I will be a gentalman and leave quietly rather than raising a stink.  But, so long as farming is an option than it is really just polite to lvl up a bit first.

I am by no means an expert. Not even close. I rarely finish with the highest score, but thats because I am a team player, even with randoms. For example, when playing on Firebase Giant, everybody loves to hang out at the top of the steps and get the kills, leaving the bottom wide open. While its not really necessary in wave 1 and 2, it is essential to have somebody down there beyond that. Even when there is nobody down there, I sit, a motionless sentinel watching the backs of my teammates, cause I know as soon as I go up top to shoot something, they will come in the back door. Tactics like this keep you and your team alive, regardless of levels.

As for farming, maybe i am the exception, but 9 out of 10 farm matches I join FAIL!!! I can't even comprehend it; People have to run off and play hero and the room gets overrun...it makes me rage every time!:o

The N7 rank is actually quite significant. From a common sense stand point, someone who has a high N7 has clearly played the game a decent amount (depends on the level to determine how much).

A player with low N7 is not necessarily bad, but with less experience they are more likely to be bad. They very well may have played more than someone with a higher N7.

No, it means someone either promoted a lot, or not much.  That's what it means.  Your list is bad, and you should feel bad.

People like you are why it's so easy to rig games of Warcraft, Starcraft, etcetera.  Get good, make new profile, appear to be noob, stomp guys who think they're leet.

In reality, you do not even have to play one second of Gold in order to get a high N7 ranking, and a great deal of the better players don't bother to promote.

You're assuming that EVERYONE promotes as soon as they hit 20. My N7 is 200 something, and I've probably played for more than most people with 700+. Why? Because I'd rather play with fully powered characters than have them gimped every 20 levels, since N7 means NOTHING. And I'd be willing to bet good cash I'm not the only one. So yeah, I don't agree with your point.

Wielding Basic/Common weapon < X
Less than VIII I think.

Wielding an SMG
I complete gold with Shuriken X and Paladin I (mostly Shuriken use) and come top/second on the score board. I only use it with characters that heavily use powers though.

I really enjoy playing with people of your attitude, winning is more important than having top rank.  If your on PC feel free to add me for some games, ID is same as my name and I would be happy to play if I'm on.  As for 9/10 of farm games failing, I dunno whats happening, I have the exact opposite effect and I'm usally watching T.V in my other moniter so its not like I'm carrying the team or anything.

People do go play hero a lot though... Drives me crazy when I'm GI and capping and the whole team decides to cover me, AKA pull agro to me.

Your not alone, my N7 only went over 200 because of character cards leveling classes I don't play.  My core classes never get promoted.

It doesn't say anything when looking at you, but when looking at others who actually promote (which is the vast majority of players who get dropped in my lobby) it means quite a bit.

I'm
basing my statements on experience not assumptions. The MP in me3 is
very much similar to COD in the sense that most people choose to promote
even though they recieve nothing (or very little) that helps in-game.

nice use of academia! however, a good proportion of the population has a much easier time realizing their flaws than their strengths; so in this case, OP realizes he is not good enough to win without EXACTLY the right team setup...

N7 means nothing, all it shows is how much time you play on this game. No skill.

I've seen players with N7 120 make players with 1000+ look like noobs, so stop bragging about your N7 rank.

Also, Krogans can be very deadly on the battlefield and are able to 1shot a lot of stuff.

Geth engineers do NOT need to have 200% to be good, I've tested various builds with my friends, mainly for fun but its possible to even use a shotgun and still clean the field up of enemies. (Before you pick on this, I said various builds for fun).

There is no right way to do Gold, and there is no correct way to actually play a class. To a certain extent yes but theres various different ways of playing a job that are all effective.

If you think a class or gun sucks in a match, your either close minded or using that said class/gun wrong and have no idea what your doing

Just biding my time waiting for the weekend event to begin, a platinum difficulty to be added, or the release of D3.

Figured I would compose a list of statistically worthless class/weapon/n7 and combinations thereof from memory of a 1000 N7 levels worth of hosted gold games (I may leave some things out since recalling from memory).

(ie people who instantly get kicked)

The List :

N7 < 20
8   < Character lvl < 12 + N7 < 750.
14 < Character lvl < 18 + N7 < 200.
Batarian anything.
Krogan anything.
Vanguard of any kind.
Soldier < 18.
Infiltrator + Assault Rifle/SMG/Pistol/Raptor/Incisor
Sniper + Adept/Soldier/Engineer/Sentinel
Sentinel/Adept/Engineer + Heavy Weapon
Wielding Basic/Common weapon < X
Wiedling Scorpion/Striker/Falcon + not the host

May be overlooked if N7 > 300
Wielding an SMG

Follow this list and you'll almost always suceed in your gold games.:police:

And this, right here, is why the multiplayer will die.  Because you've got idiots like this playing.  What makes it even more special is that he lauds his precious N7 rating like it's some sort of badge of honor.  Know what N7 rating means?  That you're a person who didn't figure out what the best spec for a class was the first go around, or with enough skill to play until you got a respec card.

There is utterly no reason to promote in multiplayer.  None.  Single player assets are worthless to acquire, and what's your other reward?  To re-level a class up?  That's a reward?   Maybe if they'd allow you to pick a certain weapon upgrade each time you promoted something it would be a more worthwhile goal.  But as it stands right now promoting is an utterly pointless exercise.

he also prolly doesn't realize that people get tired/bored of playing the same class/weapon over and over again and they gimp their toon or they pick a different class/weapon for fun. also kicking an AA with a sniper is your loss (especially the valiant) altho i use gps or carni on mine. :P

But it's only 700.
