Haha, this thread is brilliant. Can't wait to see Phoenix_Frye's reaction to the series as a whole, I'll tell ya now, you'll love it and want more and more, it's so simple, gameplay wise, but so brilliant on so many other levels.

Season 2 can't come soon enough. Seen as the game was so financially successful, I presume they'll have a bigger budget, hopefully they make more than 5 episodes.

Regarding Spec Ops, I'm one that can overlook average gameplay for great storytelling and acting, in fact, I'd much prefer it, so I'll def pick that up sometime in the near future.

Also regarding the Terminal Reality TWD game, after checking their resume of previous games, I'm not to sure about them, although in saying that, TellTale did develop the Jurassic Park game which was supposedly terrible.

It's crazy, a month ago I had zero interest in The Walking Dead as whole, mainly because it's not been shown here in my country, but after watching a YouTubeer called Gassy Mexican doing a playthorugh of it, up to Episode II (about half way through it) I knew I had to download it, and by God am I delighted I did. Soon after I watched season 1 & 2 online and half of season 3 (not starting back until February).

Having been invested in a series since Lost.

I didn't realize it won GOTY (I don't follow the Video Game Awards). Major kudos to it for doing so!

I know, right? A game you can pick up for $25 that has simple gameplay yet an absolutely STELLAR story with cliffhangers, plot twists, and just the sweetest little girl in the World.

GOTY indeed.

I remember being a skeptic about this game because I heard about Telltale making a horrible Jurassic Park, but I'm glad I was already a walking dead fan and took the risk it was totally worth it. This game shocked the hell out of me for I usually hate episodic games. However, this on brain banged me. So glad that it won GOTY finally the VGA's gets something right, I was incredibly pissed when neil patrick harris won best voice actor over martin sheen that year when he was the host. But man this game is awesome. I love Lee and Clementine.

One could argue that Jurassic Park was part of the learning experience that led to The Walking Dead, so if they hadn't made Jurassic Park and learned lessons from it, The Walking Dead wouldn't be as good as it is.

Finished the game a few days ago. Yes, I cried. 'Twas a very emotional and memorable experience, one that I don't think I've ever felt before in a game. Of course it wasn't perfect, and while I both love and simultaneously loathe the game, it still one of those rare experiences I'll remember for times to come.

Looking forward for the next season!

It's mostly my personal qualms I have with the level of consequences to certain specific choices in the game (e.g Carly / Doug death scene). Some I do understand from a game developing perspective, yet certain ones make me just feel uneasy. Though save transfer is a hard thing to master, I'd assume.

You know, since it was heavily implied that Christa was pregnant, that means she's having a GOTY baby.

I had that happen a few days ago when I did it. Episode 5 still made me tear up and have a quivering lip.

And that was just with Kenny.

If it can still do that after I already know what happens... well.... damn. Then you know it really succeeded. It's one thing to make you cry the first time, but to do it a second time? Possibly times more then that? I mean... damn.

Only a few video games have ever made me tear up. Some of those were ones I borrowed from friends, so I never got to replay them that much -- so whether I would've felt the same experience as the first time, I dunno.

But the only other thing that makes me tear up on a consistent basis no matter how many times I see it is Pokemon: The First Movie.

Which reminds me....

Very apropos since I mentioned Pokemon. And he almost died the hero too for our sins in the sequel movie!

And to bring it back to TWD, would we say that Lee died a hero or became a villain?

Depends on whether or not in future seasons of the game the location for the end of Episode 5 is revisited, accounting your choice.

Well, I meant in regards to how Lee lived, not in regards to him becoming a Walker. Because either way Lee dies.

In that do you consider Lee a hero at the end -- regardless of whether Clem killed him or not -- or do you think he became a villain because of what he did to the Campman's family -- or indirectly allowed.

One of my favorite moments in Ep. 5 is when the Campman asks "Do I look like a monster to you?" and Lee can respond back with "We're all monsters now."

Thats how I responded to Campman. "We're all monsters now."

Though I do feel that Lee ended up a hero. At least for Clementine, who I totally treated as if she were my own daughter.

Goddamn it I wish Bioware could give me the FEELS that this game did. Actually I take that back, I wish EVERY developer could give me the feels this game did.

You know, I'm not sure that's the best thing in the world, because the series was very well-paced. I'm not sure an extra episode where they all sat around the motor inn would have helped the storyline. As it is, Episode 2 almost felt like a (still very good0 diversion from the storyline, save the important plot development at the end.

Of course, I have no idea what they have planned for Season 2. Ten episodes could be appropriate, or 100. (Ok, that's pushing it.)

Didn't care much for the characters.
Felt like a pixel hunt at times.

Overall, great game.

I started playing it. I love the decision-making. Don't care much for the QTEs. Overall I think this game is a winner.

I do wish we could skip through dialogue. Sometimes I click the same object twice and have to listen to a long explanation about it again. Or I want to try making another decision and have to go through a lot of dialogue and cutscenes to get there. It seems like an oversight to me in a game with this much replay value.

I just finished up with Episode 5 tonight.

Amazing game.

Prior to having played The Walking Dead, Silent Hill 2 was the only game to have made me cry. TWD gave me eyeball sweat twice. (the ending, and the incident in the woods during that train ride to Savannah)

Yeah...I'm really lucky nobody was ever around when I was playing TWD, for the sake of my pride. Pretty much every episode after 2 made me cry at some point...

Keep that hair short...

And then that was the end of me. There was nothing left.

What else is left? The characters are the game. Without a general like for the characters and how they're affected by events, it's hard to see why you'd like the game.
