Played the game at a friend's place, prompted me to have my friend snag it while my PC is down (steam sale) and having just played the first two seasons at his place, I have to say I'm very impressed.
Consequences so far are lacking (though it's only episode 2), yet the actual impact from making these decisions and feeling rushed to do so? Damn, makes you regret what you do at times and creates a stronger flow.
Glad to see also see people's opinions of you shaped on your decisions and conversation choices rather than how super awesome you are.

Unsurprised to see people wish death on Kenny and his family while trying to claim the moral high ground, however. What the hell is with people saying "CAN'T WAIT TO KILL KENNY AND DUCK" but then turn around and say they can't stab the cannibals?

Spoilers for my whole post pretty much......Are we really doing spoilers when I thought the general rule was no need for the latest material. It would be one thing if this forum had spoiler tags, but....I know exactly what you mean with people wanting to kill Kenny. I think the hilarious thing too is that people don't even hate him as much so much about killing Larry as it is 'Hey. He's being mean to me now, and he didn't immideately jump on the guy with the gun. He's a coward AND an a**hole.'
Personally, I think both sides had their point, and Telltale games did a wonderful job putting him in a situation where trying to stop him would be much harder than normal. Of course, we have the internet bada**es, 'We could have handled him' without stopping to think that even the stringbean band teacher zombie almost got Lee, and they had a gun and an axe at the time. Dealing with a Larry zombie who's not only massive, but the only thing to smash his head is a giant cinderblock leads to a situation where he easily could have eaten everyone in there.
I'd also say another problem is we have no idea how fast people turn when they die. Based on what I hear from the comics, it can be anywhere from less than a minute to hours. It also doesn't help that we don't fully comprehend how 'dead' clinically or otherwise he has to be to turn.
Personally, I did what I felt I would have in real life.....I froze. Kenny knocked me over saying I was useless and proceeded to do what he felt he had to.
I think people only wish death
on Duck, not because of any moral high ground but because people hate
annoying kids.
I also get the feeling that a lot of people don't actually deal with kids a lot when they have to resort to calling Duck mentally challenged to say why Duck is so annoying. I'll even go ahead and explain why I feel all of what happened happened.
Tractor: Duck has never been on a farm before and probably figured it wasn't even on. He may have even been thinking of it like pretending to drive when your parents let you pretend. At this point, you may say its the farmers' fault for having the keys in, but that's fairly common for convienience, and most farmers teach their kids not to mess with things like tractors early on. After that....there's Shaun who put him on the tractor in the first place. As for that, yes. It was a mistake to put Duck on the tractor, but obviously, he didn't even think about Duck accidentally turning something on and moving it since he's been there his whole life and something like that has never happened. So in the end, I'd probably say Shaun's the most responsible, but I can see why he didn't think ahead about it.
Outside the drug store: It looked like he froze or was backing up from the zombies he was seeing. He got jumped from behind. He's hardly the first person, child or adult, for that to happen to.
I was actually fine with him in episode 2 since he didn't end up messing anything up at least. He got taken hostage, but so did Katjaa.
Basically, I like Duck and feel he's as well written as Clementine in that he's much more likely to be what a real kid is like.
I don't read the comics, but based on what I've played so far, I think one of the most important things needed to learn is to not hold grudges against people. When people panic, they do stupid things. When a life is at risk, people will get scared. If you hold these types of things against people, you're just going to add more and more distrust and division between the group.
As for future episodes, yeah....either the group's going to divide or it's just going to get worse. I can't see Lilly possibly try siding with Kenny or finding it very difficult to see things from his point of view when he just killed her dad. That's just not something I see her getting over.
