Okay,

In case anyone hasn't heard, we're supported starting this weekend with Operation Excorcist!
So lets get off our buts and kill them Phantoms!

We've given them lots of grief about not getting in on the Multi-player weekends.
It's only fair to give them Kudos when they get it working. ^_^

We don't know what you went through (and probably won't get to know because of "ongoing business relationships").

Wether it was your fault, Sony's fault, or the Easter Bunny's fault, thanks for getting it all sorted out and for letting us participate!

(and yeah, it would be nice to have some way of catching up on the community packs we missed out on, but at least its nice to know we can be included going forward! :D)

Please add a post if you'd like to thank BioWare.  Lets try to give them some positive feedback.  Save the negative bellyaching for another thread!

(Not that any of us would EVER do that ... no ... )

First of all, a big thank you to everyone at Bioware who finally worked this out with Sony. We are very grateful.

I still have to say this though, Bioware could have handled this situation much better and with a lot less hostility towards the PS3 users. I feel that it was a huge failure on behalf of their PR department to give us no warning about this issue, no official statements as to what was going on, and no compensation for lack of play time.

Even through all of that though, I still want to give a huge thank you to Bioware for all of their hard work. I would just ask that you handle situations like this with more care in the future. :)

BioWare needs to make the game work period. Then I'll thank them. Until then they're my most hated developer. All lies about the PS3 version being the same quality as the 360 version. <_<

There's no forgeting about the past when THE GAME DOESN'T WORK NOW. I'm not going to ruin my PS3 trying to play a broken game. I'm pissed. I paid $80 for a broken game I can't even play.

If the game didn't work, then I wouldn't have been able to make it through to get the Long Service Medal.

Is the game bug free?  Heck no.
Are some of those issues game breakers?  Probably (hard freezes for instance, and what I suspect is a slow memory leak when switching characters in Multi-player).
Does that mean the game is broken and unplayable? No.

(from a user who spent $80 and has gotten a bucket-load of enjoyment from the SP and MP ... except the ending which I'm actively trying to forget ever happened :innocent:)

The reason why no official statements are made in cases like this (you'll see this happen with other games too, so this may be of help) is when two companies are resolving an issue or negotiating terms it's very important that neither make comment. Any comment made about the details of the issue could hinder and perhaps break all negotiations off.

Effectively it can come down to: We give more information, but negotiations break down and you wouldn't get a resolution. OR we stay silent, both companies working and eventually, find a way to make it work.

While we may be faced with more abuse in the short term, we think its better to take it so that we can bring the operations to you.

A big thanks for working out the solution that makes what was just the PS3 online community now part of the greater Mass Effect 3 online community at large.

We'll take whatever good news you have to offer. I would at least add that PS3 users were indeed left in the dark for other promotions due to this issue. The weekend events that past are of minimal concern, as it seems like it was mostly stuff that will or can come back around. The BF3 soldier and collector rifle, as minimal an impact that they may have on gameplay, are still items we are interested in. We expand our interest in your product and IP through these promotions, only to find our initial Catalyst (pun intended) for the purchase or actions was not available for us.

Keep us in the loop (on what you can obviously) and we'll keep up the fight on PS3 :)

Firstly I would like to thank you guys for working out the issue. I would also like to thank both you and I believe it was someone named Thomas or maybe Derek... (I hope) who over the past couple of months were the only ones I saw who attempted to communicate effectively with the PS3 users, even if this communication was not part of your role.

Though I am displeased with the level of communication on the forums as well as how the PS3 users have been treated since launch, I must commend both of your for attempting to allay a lot of the fears and concerns that PS3 users have/ had.

I understand that you have business agreements and as such would be limited with respect to what you can communicate to us, however in future (though I hope something like this does not happen again) maybe some compensations can be made for whatever the situation may be, as for a long time it appeared as if we were thrown by the wayside.

The other major issue PS3 users have is the framerate which I do not know if you guys are working on. (Though I know you are aware of it by now! ;)) Again thanks for the reply and the repeated posts within our side of the forums. It was really appreciated! (And can you tell the Thomas/Derek guy thanks too...I'm sorry I forgot his full name )

It really went a long way for me, as I bought the PS3 CE and was beginning to regret the purchase, though you guys turned that around. I hope the communication improves and continues. (And maybe you guys can remake/ port ME1 as a peace offering ) :wizard:

I'm not jumping on this thank you band wagon. These events should have been for all and coordination with Sony should have been done before launch. Was it crappy launch for ps3 users? Yes. Was it game breaking? No.

Thanks is due when/if FPS/freezing is fixed. Or maybe after fixing poorer texture qualities or bugged missions.. Maybe a fix for floating vanguards falling through maps. fix the game breakers first!

I keep hearing about Vanguard issues, but in all my time playing a Vanguard, I've never had the "falling through map" issue. I've also never had biotic charge slowly break down the MP gameplay due to lag.

Knock on wood!

It's caused by dying during a biotic charge. Play more gold and it'll happen.

Indeed. I didn't even realize there was a promotional thing going on, but I played anyway and downloaded the special pack today. Yay. :-) Now I'm off to create a new thread for a ridiculous bug I've encountered.
