Hey all. I've been playing Mass Effect for years now. I started on the Xbox in 2007, and played 1 and 2 many times. I then traded my Xbox for a PS3 and did ME2 on that. I've recently bought a gaming PC and am now working through ME1 on it (as well as playing ME3 in dribs and drabs to feed the itch).

I play an Engineer, with a bonus talent of Assault Rifles in ME!, and always go equipped with an AR and HP in ME3. In the past I'vce always picked AR's as my bonus weapon in ME2 (on the Collector Ship), however, being on the PC I now have access to Gibbed.

I haven't tried it yet, but I was wondering if it would allow me to swap the SMG training for AR training, allowing me to grab the Revenant on the collector ship, and get rid of the SMG's I never use? If it could, would that have any negative effect transferring into ME3?

Thanks for any help!

I do not know how to do it, but I do know that you can, in fact, change your weapon loadout in Mass Effect 2. This should not have any negative effect on your import to Mass Effect 3.

Although I am curious why you want to switch from using SMGs to Assault Rifles in Mass Effect 2. In Mass Effect 2 I find SMGs superior to most assault rifles, including the Revenant.

Just personal preference. I never really got on with SMG's. Plus I love the Mattock! Simply perfect for my playstyle.

I "think" there is a way to change your advanced weapon training in Gibbed, but I am away from my computer that has it. I have not done this, so I am not 100% certain if it is in there, but this "should" be something that is in the save.

As for replacing SMG's with AR's, this I do not think is actually possible in Gibbed. You can edit the save to change the weapons that you have equipped, which means you could give yourself the Revenant on a class that has AR training, even without unlocking the Revenant. The catch is that if you go to the "Choose Weapon" screen you will not have the Revenant as an available option and you will have to re-edit your save because it will no longer be equipped.

If you want to actually change the weapon types that are carried on the class you will need to edit the coalesced.ini file.
