Well, fan-bloody-tastic. I can't romance the big hunky Vega eventually.  I mean, yeah, my canon FemShep only has eyes for Kaidan, but still...luckily I have a save from ME2 where I romanced Garrus.  Had thought about doing another play through to romance Thane, but since the writers totally screwed him over, I'm not going to put myself through that pain.<_<

I'm a female gamer, and I like playing female characters, especially in games like this where she can kick some serious booty.  But, I am also a straight female gamer; I couldn't even bring myself to romance Kelly just far enough to have her feed my fish.

I recently read an article somewhere about having romance options in video games; one game mentioned was criticized for having too much choice.  Apparently, you could romance anyone of any gender, but that made you feel like you were standing in the aisle of your local store, trying to decide on a toothpaste.  Do you want paste or gel, what flavor, do you want whitening or sensitive formula, etc etc.  You know what I mean.  Too much choice isn't such a great thing.  But then, the article went on to state that they felt like Bioware had actually gotten the romance thing right in their amount of choices and such.  I don't think the author played as a FemShep...lol!

To sum up...yes, I totally support having James or Joker or Javik as straight FemShep LI choices, especially if the code for James is still there and just needs to be unlocked through a patch or DLC.

Edited because it's late and I didn't spell check myself. :pinched:

Well.... I obviously support this since I made a thread about it yesterday which of course got locked.... And According to Chris Priestly I could just pm him with the question to why they decided to not care for their straight female players and he would answer me but.... I am still waiting for that answer.....

I just wanted equality. If femShep had two LI taken away without any player input, then it should have happened to male Shep.

If not, then Garrus shouldn't have been an import only romance. Why should it if Thane and Jacob was taken away? Then James/Javik should have been an option.

It wouldn't have made things equal, but at least you had three options available to you, provided Kaidan doesn't get killed.

I just wish they would have honored our choices. If I chose Thane or Jacob, let that choice stand, and allow me the option to continue with said LI. That's it. I also do not have a problem with Vega, Joker or Javik being offered as well......but let us continue with those that were a true and viable option in the previous games. Besides, I actually like lots of options....I'm funny that way. :P

Joker I see as almost as a brother but Vega he was right there flirting, all they needed to do was tiny tweaks here and there and a small love scene, having him would maybe make up for the loss of two Li's. He WAS intended as a Li so I don't get why they removed him, especially since they also removed Thane and Jacob. It's a miracle they didn't remove Kaidan and Garrus too!.....

Can you even imagine the massive sh*tstorm that would have ensued?

(And I say that with love.)

I agree, Femshep needed Tali as a LI also.

You know...come to think of it...on my first play on ME2, Tali did sort of intimate to my FemShep something about linking enviro suits...and then she later apologized in an embarassed kind of way, because, of course, Shepard doesn't wear a suit so it would be kind of impossible *babble babble babble* Then she ended the conversation rather quickly because she was so embarrassed.  It was actually rather cute.

I just might have to play through once as a male Shepard to romance Tali...mmm.

And if Vega never becomes an LI through DLC or patch, then...there is always my imagination and an empty notebook to take care of that!

Heres a fun fact lol, Tali uses the same opening romance lines on Femshep as she does on Maleshep, It's Femshep that "says no". Not Tali lol, she backtracks to apologize only after Femshep doesn't pick up on her advance, same as she does with maleshep if he says no lol.

So I guess that makes Femshep the straighter of the two... and we all know how straight Femshep is *coughnot*

Depends on the FemShep. ;)

That line from Tali definitely seemed like a flirting line though. Wonder if that was Bioware's intention?

Well all the scenes are there, just not in the actual game past Femshep saying "no". So we could of assumed they cut it right before the end, but then why would they then do the same for ME3.

Seems to me it always was threy intention, maybe its something that will get activated at a later date, in ME3 anyway.

Tali was intended to be romanceable by both male and female Shepards almost up to the release of ME2 (I’ve heard rumors that the reason it was pulled was — aside from the typical OMGABOMINATION — that at that point they weren’t sure where Liara’s arc was going and they didn’t want to ‘force’ people to go with Tali for s/s). The abrupt dialogue, the SB dossier, and some stub dialogue left make it pretty clear, even if it hadn’t been confirmed…

Miranda was also supposed to be an option for both.

* I’ve done a playthrough of ME2/ME3 with Auska and Tali but, of course, it’s not quite as impactful without Jen’s VA. It’s easy enough to enable with gibbed…just need to change the character’s sex in Gibbed for that romance start dialogue, and then you can switch back.

Bioware prob thought that female gamers would just be happy with some Vega flirting... :? Thank god Garrus and Kaidan were left alone or I'm not sure I would have been able to take it.

I didn't really notice her few romance choices as I stayed loyal to Liara, but once I saw the amount of complaints FemShep really got stuck with some crappy romances aside from Liara I say.

I'd of loved to have my single FemShep romance Jack, even if I didn't finished ME2 with her due to the crappy romances.

Not just Liara (it was sweet as hell though), Garrus's romance arc was absolutely fantastic. I've heard Kaidan's romance was awesome as well, but I haven't tried it out yet so I can't tell.

Still would have liked Vega as an option. Hell, even Joker.

"Inter-species mating!  How... pointless..."

(IOW, I don't see Javik reciprocating)

I agree.  The more I look at that hunk of maleness, the more I think he would make an excellent playmate for a Renegade Shep. Or he could just be that particular "bad boy", but Shep sees his heart of gold.  LOL!

Really?  Well, darn, that just makes me feel not so special at all. :P

Well, Garrus is a totally different species, yet he is still a LI for a female Shepard.  And as for Javik not reciprocating, it would pretty much be the same situation as with Samara in ME2.  A nice let-down, but I'm sure Javik would have his own unique way of doing it.

Personally, I tend to think of Joker as a buddy, someone to hang out and get drunk with...but there are other players out there that would jump at the chance to be romanced by Seth Green's voice.  It is for those players that I voice my support.

As for James...well...see my comment at the top of this reply.

Most gamers are male, and it appears that most women rather be doing something else. Don't blame Bioware or men, blame women or try getting other women to play games and maybe you're argument will be valid.
