if its your module the easiest thing to do is to remove
nw_s0_stormvengand
nw_s0_stormvenc scripts from your module, but beware as they also might lurk in override or even some hak.:innocent:

spellsIsTargetis called with
SPELL_TARGET_SELECTIVEHOSTILE). If the PW you are playing on is damaging the caster or other non-hostiles, then the relevant spellscript (
nw_s0_stormvenc) has likely been modified (or possibly
spellsIsTargethas been modified in
x0_i0_spells).
If the PW is trying to implement the spell more along the lines of the pen-and-paper 3E or 3.5E rules, it probably has modified one or both of those scripts. As I understand it, the PnP game has somewhat more complicated mechanics for the spell, wherein the lightning can target enemies only (at caster discretion), but the acid rain, spell disruption, hail, and some other effects will hit everyone in the area of effect.

Well, I looked at the scripts, and they looked fine to me. Both nw_s0_stormvenc and nw_s0_stormveng used SPELL_TARGET_SELECTIVEHOSTILE. The other script x0_i0_spells had not been modified from what I could see. I'm not sure what could be causing the problem. Perhaps an override may be the problem, or the spell was changed in cep.
I will admit that my knowledge of scripting is limited, but I can usually get them to do what I want them to do. Since someone has already asked on the Bioware forum, I will let them work at it.

There are several spell HAKs that might make this sort of change. Unfortunately, some of them are slim on documentation and some (e.g. EMS) don't even provide the uncompiled scripts, so one would have to swap out the HAK to see if it's at fault.
However, the good news is that I am pretty sure that CEP 2.x hasn't rescripted the spell, so that cuts quite a few HAKs out of the search.

However, I don't think spells should effect the caster, that's kind of ridiculous..
If spells effect casters, then their already low hit points will be all the more in jeopardy!
If it wasn't bad enough they have monsters bashing on them, trying to concentrate while casting, and surviving, you now have to worry about your own magic too?
I mean come on, that seems like a stiff penalty to levy against casters...
It's indicative to making fighters take X dmg every time they score a successful hit on a creature, becuase they have a chance of hitting themselves with their own sword... (pfft! ridiculous...)
(I'd bet you would hear some rage about that one, yes?)
You gotta just love how servers are quick to nerf magic & casters, yet they give out powerful weapons which slice casters to pieces... (Or worse give X monsters unresistable damage that will drop casters in seconds) The base system is just fine till you start figuring in uberness of things like devastating criticals, then you realize that casters really are not all that great in combat situations, unless of course they have powerful items to protect them from dropping like flies..
Just my 2 copper pieces...
P.S. And I so hope that this mentality is well noted by other builders...
