My female engineer leaves out combat drone. Maxed out everything else and I've become a God amongst men along with the Vindi and Phalanx X.
Also go with rockets.
Combat Drone is useful against Banshees/Brutes, as they seem to be hypnotized by them.

This is what I use - All skills maxed out with a sacrifice of 1 slot of Training and 3 slots of Fitness.

I leave out the last rank of Alliance training for 3 fitness.
Combat drone is great when you figure out how to use it. It can actually kill things with the rockets. And it's a great distrator.

So yeah, I'm with everyone else here. 6/6/6/5/3 is best.

Only thing about a Rocket Drone is it doesn't fire off enough rockets in its short lifespan to be worth it.
I'd rather have it chain electricity on enemies to lessen their shields and just overall keep 'em busy.

Combat Drone is too important to drop, and you need both Overload and Incinerate maxed for the most powerful tech bursts. Alliance Training 5 is needed to add power to double-chain Overload and the chaining drone, but the last rank isn't important and can be better spent in Fitness.

So I get better tech bursts with maxed Incinerate? I gotta ask you what you take for last rank of Drone? Rockets or Chain Lighting I have seen calls for both. Which is better for overall crowd control?

What you choose for rank 6 of the drone depends on if you are more focused on the drone doing DPS or setting off tech bursts. The higher the difficulty the more I'd lean toward speccing for tech bursts.

Incinerate is needed for tech bursts, which are powerful. They're strongest if both powers used (the prime and the detonator, which are Overload and Incinerate for you) are both rank 6.

Okay so I think I am going to go with Chain Lighting. My thinking with only bring Incinerate to Rank 4 was that it would be enough for tech bursts. Then I guess using my weapon vs Armor. So, I guess thats all I have left to choose. Max Incinerate or 4 ranks of Incinerate and 5 ranks of Fitness. Or haha actually if my Drone is set up for chain lighting overload does not do that much damage anyway. So, I could take 5 ranks of Fitness and 3 of AT.

"Oh but it can tank Banshee's" .. I don't care. It's not worth investing one single point in, imo.

Combat Drone is nearly as good as Decoy at getting enemy attention, and yet its shock abilities are farther ranged. Its ability to move is something of a problem because it chases things down, and it's not a tank like Decoy seems to be, but it's still a great skill.

Sure. If you need to tank a Banshee, then it might be good. But I like to kill them, not tank them.
