Well I was just surfing the web when I came across a article about DA3, saying that Bioware is taking in fan suggestions about where to take the series in the future...I am happy about this :P So I thought I would make a thread where I could put up my ideas and allow other users to put their ides as well. If Bioware checks this then they can probably get some really good feedback from some users that could prove useful. So like I said I'll put what I THINK would be good ideas for DA3. Please don't go and say something like "Oh your ideas suck go swim in a pirahna pool" or something. Try to give constructive criticism. People can then either retract their idea or change it to better suit the infor, and Bioware really like that kind of conduct so they might pay more attention if we're courtious :P Anwya here are my ideas for the next game, hope you enjoy:

Combat

1. Keep the DA2 combat, imrove on it. For me the combat in DAII was the highlight of the game, it was fast paced, kept me engaged and kept me intrigued by the animations and abilities. Granted some spells were a bit weird to use and it was a bit outlandish sometimes but it was awesome. In DA:O the combat was my most hated part of the game, possibly the only part. Battles were boring and uninteresting, attacks were slow and not as cool looking, and the mages....my god the mages. They were SO~ boring. All they did was stand like they pooped their skirts and slightly leaned forward with their staff when attacking, which shot a little tiny spark that wizzed around like a deflating balloon...a slow moving one. Please keep the combat style from DAII OR improve on it.

2. More spells and abilities. Pretty self explanitory, from what I remember DA:O and DAII had just about the same amount of abilities and spells. DAII were more flashy while DA:O were more tactical. Try and mix and match? I mean I liked that the magic in DA:O could be combined together, I don;t think that mechaninc was in DAII. If it was I probably didn't notice as it was more obvious in DA:O. If this is going to be ind DAIII maybe make it visually different? Like a Thinderstorm spell combined with a fire spell would make it reain fire, rather than two spells just on the same area looking haphaazrd and what not.

3. More battle music! There were loads of battle music in DA:O...in DAII there was, I think, 3-4 songs for battles. But yeah thats all I can think of, this is just a minor one though.

Gameplay and other stuff

1. Music....the music was amazing in both games so not much to change...maybe more? :P I really like the florence and the machine in the game so maybe get them back again? And definately get another song like "Lelliana's song" that song was beautiful! If the next game is going to be more war focused then maybe incorporate more gritty music? Maybe a electric guitar some places? Seeing as it is "France" based maybe a few violins and french lyrics in some songs, like the city theme or meeting the queen of "France".....:Cough cough: Orlais :cough cough:

2. Past game stories. Definately a must but Bioware are probably already going to do this, just putting it here for the sake of it. But make it more meaningful! I didn't go through all of DA:O just for it to get blown over and only mentioned a few times in DAII. And it probably would be best to mention DAII's story alot as it was supposed to e a BIG thing, the whole chantry being blown up and mages and templars fighting. Say what happened after DAII, the dissaperance of Hawke and co. and the Chantry Seekers and this whole war thing thats going on, but that is probably what they story is about in DAIII anyway.

3. New environments and scenery. Please Bioware DO NOT reuse areas like DAII did. If I have been in one cave I have been in them all in DAII. Make each and every area different, even the small ones. Maybe reusing a piece of scenery once or twice is acceptible but not all the time.

4. Companion characters....well its already there. Maybe get more companions? And maybe another dog lol :P Or something diffferent? I mean it is Orlais we're talking about (Right?) so they must have different animals. I think Mabari dogs are only in Ferelden but I cant be sure. and keep the whole individual character themes they were amazing....especially Fenris'...that guitar...man gives me chills each time I hear it.

5. Feeling of animosity. As we know nearly everyone in Ferelden hates Orlais because of the war they had with them. So let us feel that. Let us see some tourists from Ferelden picking or bad mouthing Orleseans. Let us see some arguments and fights between the two contires, maybe a few skirmishes on the borders? Just to let us know that if we are Orlesean then quite alot of people will not like us and we have to decide whether to accept that and try and make it better, or not give a damn and do what the heck we want to :P This will probably go doubly for the mages because of what happened in Kirkwall.

6. Character creation. Please give us our races back. I get that Hawke was a human so you couldn't make him a dwarf or Elf but please give us the choice to make a dirty dwarf or skiny Elf :P So we can see the contrasting storylines and how different events and scenes occur because of our race. And for gods sake give use Loads more hair styles :P And definately more short hair styles, when game developers add more hair they only seem to add more LONG hair. I still have yet to see a game with hair I actually like and want. Oh and label the colours for colour blind people, like me. It is very hard for me to choose colours when they can look like brown or black to me, when dark, but it is actually dark blue or green. Especially the eyes the amount of times I got frustrated choosing an eye colour I thought was brown only to find out it was actually green or even gold....>:(

7. Graphics....well the graphics in DAII were a hell of alot better the Origins but it could stll use a little tweaking here and there, expecially on enemies. I noticed that while the characters of DAII got a design and graphic overhaul the enemies stayed exactly the same. On that note here is the next thing....

8. Character designs. Dwarves are fine, mmoar beard choices though. :P I just hope the thing were they put their hands through their wrists is fixed, when they try to cross their arms. Elves are amazing I like that they have their own unique look compared to other types of Elves from other games and books. Although they do look a bit...thin but I can live with that. More dalish elves too...they're cool and keep them Welsh XD Please don't make them humans with just pointy ears like in DA:O. Humans?...hmmm maybe more diversity? and give them more than ONE body type. at least two or three. Not every woman has the same dress size, trying to be polite so this doesnt get blocked I would say Br**** but i'm not sure I am allowed.

9. Chatting...get rid of that damn conversation wheel! It is overused and highly overrated! It may have worked for Mass effect but that doesn't mean it should be used in every game you produce. Also please bring back persuade and intimadtion choices, dependent on stats and such.

10. Main character voice acting. This maybe tricky to do. As it would require different voices for each and and gender. so it would be like - Human male, Human Female, City elf male, City elf Female, Dalish elf Male (Welsh plz :P), Dalish elf female (welsh), Dwarf Male (Scottish/irish would be funny but maybe too...predictable), Dwarf female. I can understand if Bioware might go the DA:O route and not give the character a voice...but I don't really like that. I like to hear my character talk, but I will live with it if it does come to that.

11. Relationships. Give more meaning and imapct. In DAII being in a relationship just felt like soemthing extra to do in your time. It didn't really change much and when it was completed you don't gain anything from it, maybe an extra scene at the end but thats it. In DA:O they were just as important as the main story, most at least. Like if you had a relationship with Morrigan it would be more tragic when she left the group, or if you had a relationship with Alistair and he couldn't love you becuase of being another race or not of nobility. These changed the endings and made the player feel emotionally attached to the characters that left or died or whatever happened to them. But I saw a pattern in DA:O and II in that there was alwys the strong willed and morally challeneged, Morrigan and Isabella, the sweet and innocent one, Lelliana and Merril, the confident and brash man, Alistair and Anders, the serious and sometimes aloof man, Zevran and Fenris (Although only during flirts every other time he was brooding). The next characters should be all unique and different to the past companions, maybe make one that is actually crazy, or one that has a mysterious past (like he killed his family because of demon) or even something simple as a farmer who wanted an adventure. Not every character needs to have an dark or funny backstory. They could be just an everyday guy who got caught up in this mess.

12. ENCHANTMENT!...need I say more? :P

13.Darkspawn....Yeah they need more. If there is going to be another Archdemon make it much more menacing and evil looking, rather than just a draon that looks like...well every other dragon. But if there isn't maybe...HINT at a dormant one? Maybe....I dunno :P But yeah we need more Broodmothers. Just because the archedemon is dead doesn't mean they just disapear, we saw that in awkening. Maybe bring the architect back to explain what he's been doing since Awakening?

13. Camp. BRING THIS BACK! Please I loved that it showed you and your party living in a camp at night during their travels. It flt real then. Talking with party members around a camp fire, exchanging stories, buying and selling with Bodahn and son, getting intimate with you partner :3 All of this was awesome. Maybe expand upon it? Like we can b camp accesories like better tents for the party, special powders that changed the colour of the camp fire, adding a few horses to speed travel between places and such.

14. MOAR DEMONS! I love the demons in DA they are so diverse and cool looking! Its just too bad that they are so underplayed in both games. Maybe make a character, or event he main character, house a demon inside them that is unique and doesn't go into any of the current classes. More examples of people being manipulated by demons, such as a noble being perverted by a desire demon to acquire power through any means neccesary, or a rage demon making a mayor of a town cruel and demanding of his villagers, becoming paranoid of everything.

15. Make blood magic go into the grey area. Meaning to show blood magic isn't all bad. Like showing that it can be used to save someones life, albeit at the expense of the user. This was done in DA:O but in II it suddenly went "Oh no Blood magic is evil! You use blood magice? You're evil!".

16. Make classes matter story wise. This is just really a personal thing for me as I alwasy found it funny that some many people say blood magic is evil and yet when the main character uses it right in front of them they just don't seem to care, or even notice. At least let them mention it once like "I see you lie to use swords" for warriors, "A bow  eh? bet you can kill a darkspawn before it even reaches you" for rangers and "Magic?! You're an apostate?!" for mages and obviously "Blood magic?! Back demon! I shall cut you down where you stand!" for blood mages :P

17. Make explaoration...exploration. In DAII there was no exploration just alot of back tracking, even DA:O had this problem but it wasn't that big a deal. Let us able to go to a lot more places rather than just 4 major cities, a tower and a forest area. Myabe have a mountain pass, a piece of farmland, walking on a beach, mazes, etc. basically add more areas to explore.

18. Make quest logs, and actual quests, better. I can't really give examples as this is just the basic thing to do.

I think this is enough for now. I hope you guys enjoyed reading this. Please comment and put your ideas and comment on any of mine if you wish. It's now time for some sleep for me :D

The personality system. I loved how I could determine Hawke's 'personality' through dialogue choices, and have that personality reflected through her tone of voice, facial expressions, etc. I definitely want to see this in DA3, even expanded upon.

I'm looking forward for DA3 for one reason: it will determine the amount of money Bioware will recieve from me for my entire life.

I personally believe they'll have to set it in Orlais, so... fix the French accents, Bioware!

I also believe we need more diversity among our companions. A Ferelden-hating chevalier would be intresting for example. Perhaps we'd have a seeker companion, or Cullen. He has to be incorparated somehow, he's a one-sided enough character to be a perfect comrade for Templar or Seeker supporters.

An idea I have is that instead of programming a group of companions that will always side with you and maybe one or two that will side against you based on your choices, make literally three different groups of companions that will only be acssesible to a certain side (Templars, Seekers/Chantry, Mages) and one or two that will always side with you.

What I would love from DAIII is being able to travel all across Thedas throughout the story. From Orlais to Par Vollen to somewhere (anywhere) snowy, being able to see the differences in places. I'm an excitable art nerd when it comes to different location styles.

I just thought of another one! How about Hybrid classes? I was watching the DAII Destiny extended cut earlier and realised that the mage hawke in the trailer could do melle attacks and they looked pretty damn strong ones too. Why wasn't that in the game?! I was hoping it meant a warrior/mage hybrid class that could do ranged attackes with magic, up close melee attacks that did a decent amount of damage and unique melee attacking spells. yet all I got was thet typical pyramid classes. Mage, warrior and rogue. Hybrids are cool and I hope they will be in DAIII

OP: There were actually far less abilities to use in DA 2 compared to DA Origins. Two Handed Warriors in DA 2 only had 3 abilities to use whereas in DA Origins you had 7 abilities, including the Sustained ones. Same with Rogues, where you only have 4 abilities compared to DA Origins in which you had Rogue Talents and Duel Wield Talents to choose from.

I'd just like to see some Awakening abilities come back in the next DA. The Two-Handed warrior was pretty damned godly in Awakening, what with the new Spirit Warrior specialization, Sweeping Strike, and Onslaught. Your attacks actually felt massive and powerful.

BioWare said they wouldn't go back to a silent protagonist for DAIII, right? I think I read that somewhere.

Personally I thought the combat in II was only okay. Yes, it was visually pleasing, fast-paced and fun. But in my opinion it was just a bit too much at times. Everything explodes, there's lightning everywhere and it is just all that crazy.

I also don't like the new skill trees. I really want them to return to the style of DA:O so that I can mix and match skills a lot more without it being inconvenient. I'm also not a huge fan of the way you upgraded some of the skills. I'd prefer to be able to use both skills even after buying the second.

A thing I hated about the combat was amount of enemies and the way they spawned. There were literally waves of enemies, and they spawned from nowhere! I had enemies spawning behind me really often, which was extremely annoying. I don't want enemies spawning during the battle. I don't mind longer battles, but having a ton of weaker enemies pouring in instead of a few stronger was bad in my opinion.

Other than that, I want: Multiple cities/villages(the size of them doesn't matter to me, I just want to be able to walk around, talk to the NPCs, visit the local tavern etc.), Flemeth, party camp, removal of the dialogue wheel, multiple playable races, deeper characters.

While I feel that DA2's combat system was better than DAO... but then DAO's combat is pretty... unimpressive, so nothing to shout about.

I however prefer DAO's unimpressive and outdated combat on principle. Reason being:

MAKE UP YOUR MIND Bioware. It is either action or it is tactical. DA2's combat is neither, it is trying to be both but it ending up in oblivion. Just... pick a combat style. If it is action, go all the way action. If it is tactical, go all the way tactical.

All i'd like to see is : Choices that matter/actually do something. DA2 is just a train going from A to B it doesn't matter what you do there's no C. You always endup killing everyone and everything (well almost always). But in the end it doesn't matter 1 bit. And inbetween some small things change, ppl leave and still endup next to you.

In DAO this was different, save 1 or 2, kill 1 or 2, different options for the ending and choosing what to do in/with Redcliffe/Dalish/Dwarves. Also make save game imports matter, there's hardly any difference between a save game where you killed the elves and saved the werewolves(there is in DAO though).

So in short, make choices matter that's what i'd like to see.

-- Edit -- after 2 more PT's in DA2.

I don't know where DA2 fits in and how it connects to the dissapearance of the Warden/Champion or that it has anything to do with DA3. DA2 could've been an addon for DAO to set the scene for DA2(which will be DA3).
Legacy means nothing, sure 'something happened' in Orlais but it doesn't matter or does it?

And some other things like more gore, blood is just boring, i remember heads rolling when Leliana was fighting mobs. I think it's unreasonable to ask for every character to return in DA3 but atleast a mention (dlc?) would be ok.

But i just read this : Wiki it states that there will be another new protagenist...

According to Dragon Age[/i] writer David Gaider, the story of the first game's Warden "is over" and the story of Hawke, the second game's protagonist, will continue through future Dragon Age II[/i] downloadable content. Therefore, like the previous games, Dragon Age III[/i] will showcase a new protagonist.[6] It has been confirmed that the character will be fully voiced and that the dialogue wheel from Dragon Age II[/i] will return.[9] However, in a Twitter post, BioWare employee Mike Laidlaw mentioned that playing as a different character "does not mean your old character may never appear in future games", which could indicate that the player may be able to meet their original protagonists.[10]

Don't know if that will do tbh, sure it's mostly speculation (i hope) and who cares if he 'shows up' why mention him/her at all.

On a side note, for some reason finishing DAO gives me a good feeling, but somehow makes me sad it's over but then there are Awakening and Witch Hunt and both are awesome. However having that new save game to use for DA2 and finishing DA2 makes me want to play DAO less. Don't know why..

DA3 should strive to bring back a sense of gravitas. DAO managed to convey pretty effectively the sense that the warden was involved in something of historic significance. The dual horror of blight and civil war, commingled with a sense of personal loss and sadness, managed to permeate the game, culminating in a climax where you slew the archdemon - the great event of the era. Even the camera placement with Teaghan on the Denerim battlefield with hundreds of soldiers and Darkspawn and how they reacted to the light signalling the death of the big lizard, emphasized how you played a role in doing something really significant... even without the denouement in the throne room.

Then came Awakening, where you potentially got to do something really significant - possibly ended the blights that have terrorized Thedas for countless centuries - and all you were rewarded with was the opportunity to have a not-so-epic battle with some insane spider-broodmother darkspawn who didn't even play a direct role in the Architect's iconic - and perhaps classically tragic - actions. Kind of a downer.

Witch Hunt, despite it's shortcomings and the fact that I couldn't for the life of me figure out why my warden would be so keen to hunt down Morrigan - not having given her a child or romanced her, managed to recover a bit, with a compelling dialogue at the end... and the elf and mage were both pretty entertaining. The foreshadowing was good. But what did it foreshadow, game wise?

Then came DA2, which was a fun enough game at the level of the individual quests, but, come on, are fans really interested in following a plot that basically amounted to a Horatio Algieresque Kirkwall-equivalent of the American Dream? I'm not sure people play epic fantasy video games in order to experience class envy, parvenu striving, and the ways of the nouveaux riche... if I wanted that, I'd go to an Occupy Wall Street rally... or start a dotcom. Worse, somehow the game designers managed to largely miss the real event - the aftermath of the Kirkwall revolt: the White Spire events, the abrogation of the Neverran Accords, and the historic and consequential vote at the conclave at Andoral's Reach.. the coming of a global war.

Instead of getting to play through the important events of the era - like we did in DAO - we got to read about them in a licensed-material paperback while the game itself ended with the appetizer. That's kind of like ending DAO with Loghain's regicidal coup and forgetting the rest of the plot.  Frankly, watching the news and reading the New York Times - documenting the moral, intellectual and economic decline of the American empire and then observing - and experiencing - first hand the real world consequences of those monumental events on American youth, actually tells a somewhat more compelling tale than following the fictional social climbing of the scion of a deposed Kirkwall noblewoman (due to something as blase as her poor choice in men).  I submit that real life should not tell a more compelling and significant story than an epic fantasy tale.

I'd like to see DA3 recapture the emotions and the 'significance' of DAO. There are so many great stories left to tell.. I'd love to see Bioware/EA take the time to tell them in the next installment... and, I hope that they leave out social climbing as the driving motivation for the main character.

We need more sub-humans.

For example, Hamstrians - a race of hamster people.

Examples of enemy NPCs:
Hamstrian Adoraguard
Hamstrian Fuzzadept
Hamstrian Cheeker
Cuddles, Emperor of Hamstropolis

2 things I can think of at the moment:

1) - Combat speed somewhere between DAII and DAO
- Enemies not being faceless and boring (so closer to DAO)
- Distinction between enemy ranks (in DAII the lieutenants just seemed like the grunts with more health. Make them more interesting please? Perhaps they give buffs to nearby grunts just by being there (this can be used to make different types of lieutenants (if they have sword+shield they give ally grunts more armour, if two-handed weapon or bow they give grunts more damage, if mage, they give elemental resistance, etc.), and have at least 1 disable ability.
- Stick closer to DAII in terms of combat roles between classes
EDIT: Ah yes, and the return of armoured mages again (like the old Hurlock Emissaries), and Arcane Warriors as enemies!

2) References to other DA franchises (like DALegends - characters, locations, story, abilities, etc. Perhaps include a character from this as a party member?)

DA3 idea huh? how about try not to screw up this time?

DA2 combat was dull, the quest are boring, the dungeon is nothing but copy pasta, the character have no character, no customization and your choice doesnt even matter to the story. also try not to have the game corrupting the savefile this time.

i reckon if it's set in orlais an orlesian accent for the main character in DA3 would be pretty awesome... kinda like riordan the grey warden's in DA:O. he was one of my fav characters because he sounded so cool.

and for god's sake, DON'T RECYCLE ENVIRONMENTS!!

The combat still needs a work over, imo.

While the faster pace was definitely welcome, the endless waves just encouraged glass cannon AoE instead of actual tactics (which is a large part of what made DA:O popular).

Though elements became more important at higher difficulties, the higher difficulties just gave everything more health, rather than improving AI. Combine that with the endless waves (because apparently the players are all bloodthirsty monsters who will hate a game if they're not killing someone every thirty seconds or less) and the higher difficulties were actually MORE boring.

However I really did like some of the cross-class bonuses and combos. I think that was a good move. That said - I would like SOME of the in-class combos to come back, like 'sleep' and 'horror' together giving an enemy 'nightmare'. DA:O's oil slick mixed with fire spells to make a burning fence was fantastic, and I'd like to see some of those tactical combinations make a return - all of DAII's combos are direct damage; the only 'fences' are light glyphs in the mage's creation school.

Human Noble is Cousland. "Amell" is the given surname for the human Circle Mage origin.

Go back to what worked and what didn't.

Think about it: DA:O had an expansion, several DLC's and made lots of money.
DA2 only had 2 DLC's and didn't make lots of money, save the initial sales.

Which is preferred?

The reason being the DAII was rushed and didn't live up to the marketing. The sales weren't DLC related, they were based on what was delievered versus what was advertised. People exnjoyed DAO, so they fully expected DAII would be worthy of the name. When the problems that arose from its short timeframe surfaced, word of mouth led to it bomb.
Hence the sharp initial sales, followed by an almost embaressing (for EA) decline. There's little motivation to make DLC for a game many players are too disgusted to touch.

That said: I TOTALLY SUPPORT DLCs. They bring new life into much-loved games. :wizard:

1. Graphic.

Sure, DA2 looks more detailed, the buildings around Kirkwall look nice. But the characters.. where I could see them perfectly fine in DAO, and stare an Emissary right into its ugly face, in DA2 everything has become faceless, except for the spiders and other bosses. Fighting scores of faceless bandits got tiresome after a while. I want to be able to *see* my enemy in detail, without having to buy a bigger tv. And the cutscenes.. good God, what was the deal with the jumping images (that's the best way I can describe it)?

2. Areas

Another thing that DAO got right, as well. Frostback mountains actually looks like a mountain where the gate to the dwarven kingdome lies, and Brecilian forest looks like a deep forest. DA2 was Kirkwall outdoors, indoors, coast, caves and ruins. Heck, even the Fade was named "Templar quarters" and a spitting image of it, to boot.

3. Companions

Now, since I don't what kind of companions one will get in DA3, but here's something: Return to DAO as well. If I want to give my fighter a bow, I should be able to give him a bow. And with the risk of sounding whiny, how about a character with a semi-normal backstory. In DAO, I always wondered why I couldn't recruit Murdock, the village mayor, an average guy if ever there was one, but one willing to fight.

Conclusion: Make DA3 a grand game with a big scale war we actually have to experience. But DAO just worked better for me than DA2. DA2 had good combat, once you learned to conserve your single 'heal' spell for the 10% health requirement. Given how slowly spells recover, I think I wasted 4 lyrium potions through the entire game, not a single one wasted in the final battles, due to mages recovering their mana faster than the spells.

Gameplay: Bring back multiple races! I know a lot of people want this, and I count myself  among them. Even if they don't get independant origin stories. its really great to customise your character as much as possible. Thats half the fun in an RPG. Although Hawke being a human made sense for the story, limiting us to a human felt like a real step back, which isn't what I expect from a video game sequel. I echo the OP when I say I enjoyed the combat, one of DA2's real strengths. For me at least, it was the best RPG combat I've experianced. Do get rid of the respawning enemies, though. In addition, it would be nice to have more diverse armor morphs. My mage Hawke only had about 5 outfits to choose from, with many completely different sets reusing skins. Compared to the wealth of armor morphs in DAO, this felt like another step back. On a similar note, although I liked each companion having a distinct look, I also liked being able to customise their armor. I read a couple articles about combining the two via general "themes", and I think that's a great way to go.
Story: Explain what happened to Hawke. I imagine the expansion was going to do that, but now that thats been cancelled this should be done in the next full sequel. Perhaps even bring him back as the lead; cassandra did keep saying he was the only person who could stop the war, etc. Oh, and the warden. Closure there would be nice too (at least, for the people who's wardens didn't croak in DAO). I understand the difficulty in putting such a customisable character in the game, but a codex entry explaining what happened to her would be enough for me. More of Morrigan would be nice to; many unanswered questions about her remain. Whats behind that mirror? What is she planning? What "great gift" was in the book she gave to the warden at the end of "Witch Hunt"? Basically, wrap up the loose ends from the first two games. Also, bring back Leliana. She's French, so she fits with the setting, she's already wrapped up in the story, and she was a companion in the 1st game. A great choice for a repeating party member, no?

I want more control over my companions, what they wear in detail! so boots/pants/helmet/chestpiece etc just like DAO, what weapons they use and a standard option to reset their talents or have them not spend it automatically until you either choose to or set them yourself.

Well to be honest just take everything from DAO and build on that and leave DA2 out of it.
I read somewhere BW was looking at 'open world' (skyrim like) i dunno if implemented right it could be awesome (Skyrim was) But that would leave a really bad aftertaste for DA2 since it felt claustrophobic(Except Legacy/MotA).

Some combat aspects from DA2 could be used to make it more 'intresting' but if i'm honest i enjoy the more tactical combat in DAO better and the overhead view instead of the charging and acrobatics because once you have the gear as a rogue it's just RRRRRRRRRRRRR with some skills inbetween.

And make companions like the were in DAO, like talk to them whenever (appropriate) and a sort of camp like idea. I know this wasn't needed in Kirkwall since it was small scale compared to DAO.

One thing i'd like to see is (comes with the medieval/fantasy theme imo) limbs able to come off, in DAO you could atleast chop of someones head (not always but it happened).

And please no recycling, sure a chantry church (or whatever) can look similar but not every cave/street/house etc. In DAO it was possible to set a beautiful environment you would expect this to be possible in a game that serves as a sequel (i wish DA2 was an addon for DAO:Rise to power (or nothing) then it wouldn't be such a dissapointment).
