Just go for FBWhite + Geth + Gold. Even with the Decoy "nerf" you can still breeze through with pratically any combination of classes + a SEng.

The only issue I've ever had on that map outside of odd hack spawns that people just couldn't get to are when infiltrators decide that they must camp the "golden" cubicle. It's not a problem that has no solution, but it certainly makes things a bit harder for a SEng due to the fact that if he/she isn't in that cubicle, it becomes a bit more dangerous and time consuming to place decoys in that choke point properly.

That said, its doable regardless. Just run a SEng, and carry either a Carnifex or even a GPS if you can deal with a ~80-100% cd penalty. Either running with a GPS, its practically impossible to die due to the fact that you can recharge your shields every 3 seconds and almost every enemy will instantly lock onto your decoy as you stagger them with a headshot and/or your energy drain. If you aren't carrying a projectile weapon (GPS/Graal/etc) I highly recommend an AP mod as you'll have many opportunities to line up domino type shots and you'll see more than 10 Primes and triple that many Pyros.

Unfortunately, I don't have a salarian engineer. Maybe I can find a room at White that has one in the lobby?

Christ, 10 Primes in a match? 30 Pyros? I want to go cry in a corner just reading that! LOL Image IPB

I only do good on G/FBW Gold matches, and I plan accordingly. Salarian Infiltrator.

I usually play silver, but I had a few good gold matches tonight, each time using a different class. I think I'll play gold from now on.

This morning's bronze matches were HORRIBLE! Sweet enkindlers... as a Turian Sentinel I was like a Biotic God.

But this evening I was able to try 3 Gold Matches. First one lagged so badly due to the Host's connection we ended up dying off completely by wave 7. (My theory is I think my GE's Turret and the SE's decoy were keeping us alive somehow.)

Second game was lost at Wave 10 because a Turian Sentinel wouldn't set up by the doorway to the reactor room like the rest of us and our Infiltrator kept running across the map to rez his punk a** every time he dropped. NO matter how much we told him to keep his butt anchored to the wall he kept running back across the map to the Extraction area. By wave 7 he finally understood why we all hung out by the door when like 4 Atlases and 2 Phantoms kept gangbanging him.

The final match, before I headed in to work tonight, was ROUGH and that made it exciting. It was on the map with Communications Satellite dish thing. (I need to learn the names of the Firebases.) We were besieged by Atlases and Phantom and Combat Engineers the likes of which can be only compared to the movie 300.

We had Me: Lvl 20 Geth Engineer (Mattock X w/ Flamethrower turret), a Lvl 17 Human Engineer (Geth SMG II w/ Combat Drone), a Lvl 18 Salarian Inf. (Widow I), and a Lvl 18 Krogan Sentinel (GPS IV w/ Melee Spec.).

The Human Engineer was the squishiest of us all BUT they knew how to utilize their cover and made sure their Drone kept Phantoms and Engineers busy.
The Krogan Sentinel would tank Centurions and Atlases, and when the SI couldn't get to an Objective fast enough he would rush in .
The Salarian Infiltrator, when not hitting objectives while cloaked, would just rack up a massive bodycount, and would make sure to blow up Turrets when the Krogan would be rushing over to the nearest objective.
And me, the Geth Engie, would spam Overload on Atlases and pound 'em with the AP modded Mattock; also I'd chuck my turret near objectives or at choke points to hose down the area with flames or provide a distraction.

One of us would drop guaranteed once a Wave but we'd all take turns rezzing one another.but not just rush over, we'd clear the immediate area best we could THEN pick our a**es up.

We rarely used rockets unless we needed to clear an objective/hacking area, but mostly we'd just do our damn jobs.

Yeah, just spent a few hours playing some mp...in 2 hours, only won 2 gold matches where usually I win about 80 percent. One had to carry the entire team...(then EA disconnected at the last minute), and the other I was carried...or at least lowest scoring. In any case, I blame the newest operation...I do hope they keep them jumbo equipment packs tho, love those.

You can tell easily:

Adepts who use nothing but warp with no throw whatsoever for BE's,

Stasis everything being a wannabe sniper and use throw on bosses only/ try to stasis an Atlas...

Salarians running around never popping a decoy/Humans never popping drones,

Not ever using melee on an almost dead enemy but try to aim their sniper at point blank range and get downed,

Rezzing you under a phantom, that's always fun...insta-gibbed. Why U no kill first?!

Using rockets on wave 11 only/on that one lone and masked Centurion. He be dangerous n' stuff.

Justicars never using their bubble/pull whatsoever and only reave, reave, reave, reave....reave.

The never-ending list....

Yes, unfortunately some of the worst players have come for this event. Depending on how tommorow goes, I may have to just stop pubbing until the event is over because my back is starting to hurt. And my eyes also bleed when I see people that can't play their class properly.

My first game of the night I ran a turian soldier with tempest X (Heat sink and Clip) and a Phalanx X (Damage and piercing). I'm at 360 cuz I stopped promoting a while ago. My friend was in the 700s. We had two randoms: One past 1600 and the other 500 something. In the lobby, I get one vote to be kicked (not worried because my friend's in with me). I laugh at this and honestly assumed it was the higher guy (we were in party chat), then I continued laughing the WHOLE GAME as I completely dominated the leaderboard (final score I was up by ~50,000). I dropped out of party chat to ask who it was that voted to kick me and they both quit.

About a minute later, we both get an invite from the 1600 guy and go to play with him (where I find out it was the 500 guy that voted to kick me). So it became him and his friend (who was almost as high as he was) and me and mine where we had cakewalks for a few hours. I switched up my class every game or so to keep it fresh and still ended up on top every game.

Just goes to show, don't assume someone's bad just because you think their loadout is stupid. I've played with the turian soldier a LOT trying every single weapon out with Marksman and found that the Tempest is the best for me (especially with Incendiary Rounds and the Prox Mine to set off fire explosions). I know what works. It just happens to be uncommon weapons.

I just had a nice group. Me, as a krogan battlemaster. A turian soldier, and two (non-justicar) asari adepts.

Many phantoms were killed, and we got a full extraction! Weee :D

This. A thousand times. In fact, I strongly advocate AGAINST using a SE in such matches as it apparently only makes people stupid and irrationally dependent on the Decoy. Of all the matches that hilariously failed, it's 99% of the time those with a SE.

*Note:
It's not about bad SE players, it's about players miraculously getting stupid when a SE enters the match. It's as if upon Decoy placement, every bronze-surplus experience transfers straight into the Decoy and turning formerly probably decent players into drooling husks.

Great, I am really looking forward to carry some new players today!

Should be great fun!

And, I'm not being sarcastic.

We are all new at some point, I like this event as a way to get more people try gold.
Lets put our superior skill to some use and help our newer players out!

I don't even have pull specced on my Justicar.
I only play that class if there is warp available from a team mate. :)

I can complete silver without sweating, I tried gold yesterday before taking part in the Event and survived with a good, non excellent team.
We talked a bit about what we had to do, found a map that we all liked, choose classes with some brain and had a go.
It wasn't easy but we did it, even without N7 weapons maxed out.
Then I took some guys playing on bronze but quite skilled, and brought them into silver, explained some things and we did 2 silver straight...so my point is, unless you find someone with a N7 under 60 don't remove them from the game but just talk a bit with them, explain how to move and what to do, explain them that they will meet even 4 phantoms, 3 banshees at the same time :)
It's easier to have silver runs with people that never tried them because they'll be scared as hell and will listen instead of having even 1 rambo in your team.

those are actually underestimates. the first couple waves might only have one prime or no prime, can't remember, but there are other waves that have 6 primes. Most of them have at least three pairs of Primes coming at you and really, pretty sure there are more than 30 pyros as well.

those are actually underestimates. he says "at least" and that's true.  It's really a lot more than that.  the first couple waves might only have one prime or no prime, can't remember, but there are other waves that have 6 primes. ugh tried to edit and failed. that's ok, I had another thought I wanted to add. don't let the numbers intimidate. you just have to play gold very carefully. People calling farming on fbw are just being reactionary IMHO. it's just a structured approach to winning. You definitely CAN lose it. nothing is given to you. But I digress, the way to win gold reliably is to have a plan and to hang back and be methodical. it really speeds things up if everyone has consumables like rockets to use when the going gets tough. on the lower levels you can just run around and have fun. you need to find cover and stick to it in gold. If you don't run out looking for them and let them come to you and pick them off that way AND know when to run when too many come to you instead of staying in and trying to hold your area  you'll do ok. know when to hold em, know when to fold em, know when to walk away, know when to run.. pretty much sums up gold.

stick together, take cover, don't run out into the aisle to compete wiht the decoy (I've seen this a few times today or running up the stairs or camping by the ramp to the lz. and use a weapon that has some punch and all will be well.

oh and if you're an engineer and there is an adept on the team you're better off using a sniper and having a low cool down period and just spamming the decoy and not using energy drain. Cause all that's going to do is make the explosions smaller. Adepts are great crowd control. Engineers are for keeping the decoys up and adepts are for clearing out a room.

OMG I totally agree with this post! There are waaay too many noobs in gold now! They need to have a system where we can categorically filter out people with low N7 ranks or people with toons under 15. I HATE NOOBS IN MULTIPLAYER SO MUCH!!!!!:pinched::ph34r:

If Bioware insists on making community event requirements that include completing Gold matches, that will never happen. You'll just have to deal with it.

No.

Such a system is only harmful, never useful. I start playing Gold when my characters are at level 10. Such a system would not only prevent myself from the little challenge I get from that (as vanilla Gold is fairly easy in a decent team) and prevent others from profiting from my experience (I like to give out tips and tricks to other players via mic and when I am having a particular good run with my character, people naturally get interested). Plus, you'd miss out on competent teammates, exactly those people like me that are sure to at least pull their share more than enough.

If you don't like playing with randoms, play with friends. If your friends aren't always online when you want to play, get more friends or live with it.

I play on Silver pretty much constantly. Finished 5 or 6 Gold matches before, but don't really enjoy them. Logged into a random Gold lobby, latched onto a group of randoms with mics, wasn't that bad actually. Full Extraction, never fired a rocket. Is probably a good experience. Silver might be a more cohesive place after this weekend, for all the people getting a crash course on staying in cover, working as a team, etc.

Microphones really make a difference in teamwork when you're not a "fire"forged team already. And with decent teamwork, Gold is laughably easy.
