Dragon Age 2 will not activate. Says it is validating but nothing

I just bought the game a few hours ago and I am having the same issue. I bought the game through Orgins as well, so this is pretty disappointing... Orgins and EA really suck. Wish I could have bought DA2 through Steam. I think I am done with EA games.

Yeah, I was on the verge of getting ME3 since it hasn't been on Steam. Not doing it now.

Official customer support is on EA's Help Pages, linked at the bottom center of every page here with the name "Bioware Support".  When you click on that link, you get this:

support.ea.com

The chatline is the best option.  If that doesn't seem good enough, the appropriate forum for discussing the problem with other game players is at:

social.bioware.com/forum/1/category/6/index

Trust me when I tell you it cannot be the game itself.  Whatever it is, has only appeared since Friday, and is only affecting relatively few gamers so far.  Bioware doesn't work on weekends.  It won't be fixed, I do not believe, before Monday. 

There have been two brand new message threads about this same problem started in the Social Site's DA2 Tech Discussion forum (the name of the place is deceptive.  It is a Self-Help forum, Gamers making suggestions to other Gamers).  There has also been a Necro'd message from the earliest days of DA2's release, dead and buried and forgotten for a year and a half, and unnecessarily disinterred.  It should remain dead. 

Beyond the two new threads and the moldering corpse, there's another elderly message thread that's been co-opted to post new messages in now.  So far, everyone has been posting in the wrong forums. 

Out of a total of five, counting this one, the one that in my opinion is the only one that has any valid reason to have been created to pursue the matter is this one:

One message is all that was required.  After that, the rest are simply a variety of spam.

Still down this morning. Chat support was still not helpful. Kept wanting me to re-install it. Been there done that several times with and without the CD.

Gorath, maybe you think that you are helping someone in some way, but I have to say that your repetition is coming off as a little condescending.  

People are gathering here because they all have the same problem and this is a technical self-help community - they want to know if there is anything they can do to get their game working by comparing experiences - and frustrations - with other players.  

Why does that offend you so much?  Your numerous, lengthy posts are taking up far more space than the rest of the comments on this subject put together, no matter how many threads they're being made across.

Let us all hope that tomorrow something will be done and we will all finally be able to validate and play our games!!

I'm having the same problem, I've been trying to play this game since yesterday and I'm stuck at validating...I've tried looking for a solution and nothing works, I just hope that by tomorrow EA does something.

They sent me an email saying it's a problem at their end and they're working on it. I've been waiting for four days now, very frustrating (especially since Sun night at work was very quiet & boring lol!).

Bought today -believe it or not and just finished installing -first time activation too, haven't even got around to Online Pass yet and have the same problem as everyone else here :(

My last contact with tech support consisted of them telling me I had to re-install again. Couldn't get them to elevate the issue.
