So, I recently installed Baldur's Gate 2, from GoG in this case. I cannot seem to find my save file location, so I was wondering what other directories it may use. I've gone to the C:\\Program Files (x86)\\GOG.com\\Baldurs Gate II directory, and there is no save folder. In fact, when I run Baldur's Gate 2 from the launcher in that directory, it does not even recognize saves. On the other hand, when I load from the launcher on the quickbar, that was also created by the GoG install(I pinned it when it auto-ran), it seems to load from a different directory because multiple saves are present. I only have the single install of the game, so I was wondering if someone might have an idea of what directory the saves could be hiding in, or a way to export them to somewhere I can copy them.

Uninstall it and then re-install it to C:\\Games or any folder other than C:\\Program Files.

Tried this on the second computer, not to much success. I created a save, re-installed, and lost the saves. I do get the save folder though. I'm more asking if there is a way to recover saves from the previous incident where I cannot create the save folder, as I do not wish to lose my progress(Assuming the computer with the files I wish to move has not had a reinstall yet).

Huh? There is no “SAVE” folder at the start because the game tries to make it the first time you save a game. If you installed to C:\\Program File then your old saves should have been placed in your documents folder (assuming Visa/ 7 is the os) ... you may need to turn on “show hidden files” to see them but if you installed outside C:\\Program File then the save folder will be in whatever folder you installed to eg. C:\\games\\BG2.

p.s the GoG game version is already patched so don’t try to install one over the top.

If the above doesn't work, from your game folder see if you have this icon (Vista screenprint but Windows 7 should be similar?). Try that.
