Hi.
I started to play ME1 for fun to make perfect save game but i got a little problem.
Game crash with blue screen on same spot every time.
Zhu's Hope prothean Skyway when you drive MAKO out.
Excatly on first Geth roadblock game crash to blue screen.
Update 1.02 is installed
My system:
Intel C2D E7400
4 Gb ddr2 memory
Nvidia GF 250 GTS with latest drivers
X-FI PCI-E sound card
Win / Ultimate 64 bit

What error message is at the top when it happens? And don't tell us that it reboots too fast. Find out with Google how to put an end to that foolishness before going one step further.

no error or nothing.
standard blue crash screen and you need to reboot it manualy by useing reset button.

By definition, the term "BSOD", from which the "Blue Screen of Death" acronym was coined, has considerable information from the operating system, about why it needs to reboot. You have not experienced the type event you named, if that page of data didn't appear.

i think that i located problem.
game does not fully support 24 bit sound cards.
after getting my card in 16 bit mode and 44100 Hz game resume it's normal operations without any problems

and only problem is on that same spot.
after you pass that first skyway part youc an return your settings to normal.
so far no more crashes
that first geth roadblock is somehow buged.

I just had a BSoD on my new laptop with ME1 after installing it for the first time with this computer....

Perhaps I should look into this sound issue that you had. I would be willing to bet I'm set at 24 bit.
