Why is this service so popular? I get that they don't do DRM but most of their deals are awful games.

Seriously? They sell a lot of the best games of all time.

Meh, sometimes they'll have great deals on classics but the majority are not, IMO. And I think nostalgia is overrated sometimes. I might have great memories with a game but that doesn't mean it aged well either. Sometimes it's best to just remember how awesome a game was and never play it again lol.

I tried going back to playing Deus Ex awhile back...yea. That game hasn't aged well at all. Although, I'd definitely vote it as my favorite PC game of all time.

Most of the games are not to my taste and have not aged well, but the same can be said for Steam or any other digital distribution service. I have interest in or like less than one percent of the games released on Steam.

There is a HD texture mod released for original Deus Ex.

Yeah Silent Storm!
Now only 1 more turn based game i desire left.
But forgot its name...It had cartoon graphics and we had specialists of every kind in party.
One leader good with SMG, one heavy guy- shotgunner and brick, a stealthy Asian chick and a hacker nerd.

You have to pick and choose with GoG. It has some of the best, and worst deals of all time. Check metacritic, ask around for which are/aren't worth buying. I personally suggest The Longest Journey, Planescape: Torment, and Arcanum from the bunch. You also can't go wrong with Myst/Riven and Baldur's Gate.

TorchLight on GoG? Pretty cool. The more recent titles they can get the better.

not really interested in any of those games but i love gog.com being able to play my games without drm is a big bonus its a shame that mass effect 3 pc players need an internet connection to play a single player game. hopefully ea will wake up some day and realize that drm does not work. all it does is prevent legitimate players from enjoying there game completely but it does not prevent people from pirating the game. hackers crack the drm in days if not hours so not only is it useless to put in the game but a pirated copy is easier to play than a purchased one because it does not have drm. gog.com sets a new standard for caring about the consumer.

A lot of people are excited about the Riddick game being released as it is actually two games in one and the original release had really bad DRM and a 3 game activation limit......... I hear the game was actually decent also.

I have Torchlight on Steam  (got it in a sale) but I may buy it on GOG to show support for DRM free services.

Riddick is 2 in one? Good. Dont know the second game but first one is a decent aciton game with exciting sneak and melee combat.
And we learn how he "acquired" his eyes.

Edit
BTW its Strategy First Global promo weekend, lots of goodies await :)

Jagged Alliance series and Disciples series are must buys :) And there is Sacred for action RPG fans.
