FTL has been on my radar for a few months now. PC Gamer keeps doing articles on it that have me excited to give it a try. Planning on picking it up this afternoon when it hits Steam.

Why get it on Steam when you can get it DRM free on GOG?

Cause some people aren't so petty.

DominusVita's suggestion of Diamonds of D&D is quite good and a must buy but I already have half of them.

I've heard of the game, I believe through Skelter/Ringo/Tina Fey. I passed on D&D already having BG2 and PS:T, but may go for this one instead.

Master of Magic? Wow. If you can stand graphics from that era, it still plays fine.

And Independence War.

Didn't like Etherlords as much as I'd hoped. But it's a good concept.

From the Metacritic site:

Select your sorcerer hero from among four powerful races, and summon an army of monsters who clash for control of the world.

Probably better off with Sacrifice, or the like.

Post Mortem is a prequel to Still Life (the character is featured in a flashback) so if you want a little more background context it's a good game to try.

Also some puzzles have multiple solutions and workarounds and the dialogue system is one of the more unique styles in an Adventure game as it's not just the simple ask everything then leave the character.

It's similar to BioShock, but my memory is hazy on the game. You have psionics or whatever instead of plasmids, which is an in-universe way of supporting 'magic'. It's a first-person shooter with character upgrades and progression. It has a main villain talking to you through...something, just like in BioShock. There are audio logs of dead people or people ahead of you, that gave you an idea of the characters and the plot. There's not many friendlies around, if any. It's basically you against the whole station.

Both System Shocks are great. The first is a bit more of a 'kitchen sink' sort of game. They tossed everything into it with mixed results. A shooter, a horror game, cyberspace hacking out of a gibson novel, etc. A little dated looking but fun game. System Shock 2 improves on it in every way. A much tighter cohesive game.

I enjoyed them both more than Bioshock, though you'll definately see how that game is the spiritual sucesssor.

2 more games have been added at 66% off

Perimeter secure.gog.com/en/gamecard/perimeter
Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2 www.gog.com/en/gamecard/soldiers_heroes_of_world_war_ii

These games are being removed from sale due to licensing issues so will be on sale until Monday.

GOG has stated they will try to get these issues sorted out to return the games in the near future but if you were looking into these now is the time.
