I have max approval and have done the dirty mage deed in her tent...yet she still won't teach me her shapechanger spec. What else could I possibly do? Am I bugged?

MIght have to take the route of forcing her to teach it since she does tend to go for that kind of thing

Ok, in addition to maxing out her approval and doing the dirty mage deed..I have now also slain Flemeth and given her the grimoire. I have tried the 2 "don't be a ****" text options and all that does is severely reduce my approval rating but doesn't get her to teach the spec. Is the teaching of the spec tied to some later event in the game that has to happen first or something?

you can get a Mirror gift thing in Orzammar that is a special gift for her.

I'd got her to teach when the approval is still low at Lothering in my first playthrough. In my second and third, after getting to 70-80, she won't teach anymore.

it's an odd glitch... if you have got the swamp-witch to tech you once... she won't ever teach you again... not that she has to

Actually I think it's probably there on purpose as part of her character. In the beginning she doesn't really care, so it's like "Sure, I'll do it... why not?". But once she's mildly interested in you, her manipulative side comes out and she starts denying you that so that you keep doting on her in an attempt to get her to change her mind (and obviously it's working).

I think its a bug personally. She can teach you the spec, but then while that dialogue option probably should disappear like zev's and alistairs, it remains and she keeps saying no. In a second playthrough she will always say no because its already unlocked.
Its a bug.

Actually, my understanding is that she'll only teach it to you if her approval is *low* enough. Once you get over about 30% approval, she won't teach you. Try creating a new game and asking her to teach it to you early on, before she approves of you much, and see what happens. That worked for me.

She will teach at low approval, but the option for her to teach it doesnt disappear afterwards.

This. If she refuses no matter what you have probably already unlocked it. Got nothing to do with the low approval rating being better or whatnot.

I already did that. It sounds like from other posts this might just be a bug or something. Oh well.

FWIW: For me, on my first play-through I didn't ask her about it for a while. By the time I did, she had a high approval rating of me, and refused to teach me. I started another play-through, and while her approval was still low, asked her, and she taught me.This. If she refuses no matter what you have probably already unlocked it.

I just want to make sure here.. but this question hasn't been asked..
Is your main character a mage? (I hope that doesn't come of rude or stupid but I just am going through all possibilities.)

You just need to have a low approval rating with her, atleast for me and ask right away. At that point she doesn't care about you, when it's higher though, she simply wants to toy with you

If it's a low approval that gets you the spec then all you should have to do in future conversations is say things you know she'll disapprove of to get her low enough to ask again. That doesn't make much sense that she'd give it to you at a low disapproval rate though. I'm sure I had her pretty high when I got it but I can't remember. I had everyone near the top by endgame. I thought it was pretty fun with Morrigan at high approval.. when ever she said something snide and you respond with a nice comment to her snideyness she gets a remorseful look on her face and then stumbles through her words.
