They made the spell persist on zoning however all they have done is completely break the spell.

The spell does indeed stay active after zoning, but not only does it stay active, it keeps getting stronger. Everytime you now zone with Rally active, your defense increases by 10.

I realised something was wrong when Alistair was a Juggernaut of never getting hit ever. Couldnt quite work out what was going on and then opened the character up, and behold 472 defense. I zoned, and it went to 482, I zoned again and my defense went to 492, and so on...

Was internal testing not done??

Cancelling and reactivating rally puts your defense back to its proper number. But everytime you zne your defense will increase by 10.

So much for Rally stack :/ I think I'll stick with 1.0 for now. Does attack increase too?

You know, it just occured to me that this is probably why it was "broken" in the previous version (ergo: turning itself off after zone).

What probably happened is someone noticed the stacking bug in testing and a lazy programmer decided that it was easier to just turn the ability off after zoning than chase down why it was bugged in the first place.

(Note: I am a lazy programmer, so I could totally see myself doing this).

Someone then probably came around later, noticed it was easy to "fix it" (that is, the toggling off of the ability on zone) and ta-da: Unintended consequences :)

That makes a lot of sense.

If defense gets reset by turning the rally off before leaving a zone that is good enough for a quick fix for now I think. But yea thats a fumble in the end zone for sure :(

we can fix it as soon as they give us the updated scripts. they have not done so so it is not fixed. just turn it off/on for now i guess.

Great, now when I finish my solo Warrior game, everyone will say I could only do it because I exploited bugged rally. :P

Yeah - I can confirm this as well, since 1.02 rally now adds 10 to defence with every zone you pass through - any chance of a hotfix bioware?

That's crazy! thanks to you some ppl will deactive it to correct it & others will exploit it to win a fight they couldn't win otherwise but at least we know.
Thanks for the post, I haven't used Rally yet since the patch.

Weirdly enough, it does not do so to me. Unless the AT must be through the World Map. Haven't checked that yet. But on regular AT like going back from the forest (where I was when I installed 1.02) to elven camp,  my Rally aura did not staked any of party member's defense.

Try going to any dungeon that has several zones, like going from the Dalish camp to the forest - it'll show itself there. Its on defence only, and check the character that cast it.

Is it a new char or an old one?

I'd say old? He was level 18 when I got and installed the patch... and I had to leave the ruins to unload a bit ... 110/110 items in my inv ... so I had to cross the whole ruins (was in Lower part), plus the forest then the dalish camp and I've checked that after every transition... no change on the defense ratings at all for anyone in my party.

It's definitely broken. But it not only adds +10 defense, but attack as well if you have motivate. Not gonna lie, my party was just slightly OP when none of my chars took dmg from physical attacks, and melee hit EVERY time.

One workaround is to install the Advanced Tactics mod. There you can set up tactics to active Rally in combat mode and deactivate it for exploration.

(I have seen it stacking occasionally, it's not completely reproducible.)

hi,

i have installed the latest patch (1.4) but the same problem...

everywhere i see the answer that the problem should be fixed with patch 1.3, but in my game the rally talent switches on and off, again and again.

i've tried it with the advanced tactics, which is a great mod, but the problem is that the rally talent goes on and off beetween the battles... aleister is owning the talent and it disapears just after a few seconds from my main char. on aleister the "logo" is still there, but it isn't affecting his skills anymore...

i don't wan't to restart and restart and restart...

i am playing the origins without awakening but with grey warden addon, blooddragon armor and prisoner of the stone!

can anyone help me???? please...

and sorry for my bad english... i am german :)
