*The point is down below in bold if you want to save some time. I tend to ramble....*
So I've decided to take an existing area (some cave from, I believe, "The Nature of the Beast" quest line), add my own creatures/bosses, and loot.
My goal is to make it a difficult, but rewarding little side-thing that you can travel to from the World Map.
In following the tutorial located @ this page
I came across a speed bump. I followed that tutorial as best I could, but in-game the new pin i made for my new location is greyed out and I can't travel to my location.
The part about the pins and the trail did not make much sense to me, but I used the linked page of Single Player Campaign map pins to find the coordinates for the Frostback Mountains (the pin for my location was close to them) and went from that coord to my new pin.
So since that didn't work, I tried creating a pin at the coordinates for the Frostback Mountains. In-game the default icon for the FbMs was changed to that weird default pin icon, but both the FbMs and my location's pins were active. I was at camp so I figured I'd see what clicking on the FbMs pinw ould do and it put me into an endless loading loop.
So I'm wondering if there's an easier way to be going about this or if I should just keep screwing around with the maps and pins until I find something that works?
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I doubt the trail is the problem, by default new map pins are set to inactive. So adjust the properties of your pin, and set the initial state so that it is active
Another thing to check is you have the correct area and starting waypoint set on the pin so you have somewhere to go when it transitions.

You are a lifesaver Ashmaran. That is one thing that DAToolset wiki didn't mention. I had the same problem and I went ahead and set the pin to active and bam!!!!! It works!!!
I know this post is old, but I still wanted to thank you. I was stuck with this problem for 4 days, lol.
