A fair few times with a full extraction. Was amused with an invite yesterday where I joined a group on teamspeak and we didn't use a single missle till the extraction wave and we were just alternating cobras on incoming atlases for fun. Nuking left, nuking center, nuking right, what the hell triple nuke the same atlas. Funny but that was until I realise I just depeleted my cobra stock DOH

feels like ages ago since I got my first full extraction on gold. now I have to do random maps to keep it interesting. still can't solo tho ;_;

If I want to play for fun I play Silver.
For me, Gold is just farming (not only FB:W:G).

I did it once, could probably have been twice, but my comp shut down at wave 10 the first time (white base enemy : Geth). This has been a great event.

I think regular gold players are just happy to play with so many potential new friends!

I'm a gold difficulty player anyway, so yes, unfortunately this weekend has given a whole ass load more of worthless idiots to filter through.

Four gold matches, 2 extractions, both times I had to use rockets to save the worthless idiots on team trying to run a FBW gold without staying in the damn room, oh and that stupid batarian soldier player who insisted on wall camping across from that L shape outside, where I was cloaked and sniping from, thus causing half the enemies to come for ME. *facepalm*

The other two times I didn't want to waste my medi gels, to be honest the other teammates did suck, horribly, what kind of idiot runs at gold Cerberus head on?

Add in two Asari, one justicar, who didn't know how to set up shield dome for warp massacres, the other who didn't know how to use or place stasis, and the fact both of them kept coming to hunker down right next to me, thus ruining the whole idea of "Infiltrator with cover" on firebase giant, ugh.

Around 20 since the event started.

15 were with friends. The other 5 public games. Met a pretty good Batarian Soldier, and we carried some newbies through a few rounds of Cerberus Glacier (my new favourite combination). Managed full extraction every time, too.

The other two guys were useless to start with, but by the third round they were taking out Phantoms quite easily. Just goes to show that while the ramp up in Gold is daunting, all it takes is a little practise with some decent players.

Managed to find three Russians who accepted my lvl 16 Turian Sentinel.

With some awesome biotic combos and bad English voice-chat we managed to get a full extraction.

This was my first game on Gold.

Twice on Friday, FBW/Geth/Gold. Once before it started so it didn't count. The other after that posting by Priestly saying it had gone live, though before the posted time. Might count.

Saturday ended up in a few Silver games with the same pickup group and then the host switched it to Gold/Cerberus/Random and had a battle on Giant. Managed to get to the final wave, though I was out of medigel for my engineer. Fortunately, a Salarian Infiltrator cloaked and ran to the lz and we got a lone survivor extraction. So I'm hoping for a Valiant II.

I've got 4 all on FBW, 2 were geth and 2 were cerberus.

The cerberus matches were fun, as I had a good team around me. Farming Geth is boring.

Haven't failed a gold match this weekend 4/4.

I made my quota in all the games I played but this was not my first gold run. But congrats to those who tried gold for the first time and made it through! I'm of the mindset that the more the merrier. Hopefully a taste of success at gold will give gold-newbies the inspiration to play more of it and get better in the process. I'm sick of hosting public games on gold and waiting for minutes to get others to join in. Add me if you'd like to run some gold matches: Ankila.

FINALLY!

I am not much of a Gold player; I just find it way too stressful and full of pompous blowhards who try to dictate how I can spend my free time.  I am normally perfectly happy to stay in Bronze and Silver where I can try new builds and actually joy the game a bit.

However, with the event on, I figured I would give Gold a shot again.  I played yesterday in a public lobby and we wiped at Wave 9.  I don't play with a microphone, so I appreciate when I get a lobby with other mic-less people.  Since we normally play without verbal communication, I hoped that we would be able to work something out.  Unfortunately, it didn't happen and when I finally dropped in Wave 9, I just decided to bleed out since the others were dropping like flies.  I vowed to be done with Gold.

Then this morning I figured I would give it one last chance and hosted a public Gold FB: Glacier Cerberus.  I've solo'd Bronze and Silver with FBG/C, so I thought it would work out best.  I was disheartened to see that the others who joined the lobby were all below level 20 (Human Sentinel - 18; Geth Infiltrator - 8; Salarian Engineer -12; I had my Justicar - 20).  They all had higher N7 levels (between 200-400), so I figured that they knew what they were doing.  I HATE kicking because I feel that people with real skills should be able to play the game with teammates of all skill levels,even if it means missing a successful extraction.  

I immediately ran to the basement corner to camp with my defensive specced bubble.  The Sentinel ran right with me.  The two of us began to explode everything that reached the top of the ramp.  It was beautiful.  However, my heart dropped as I saw both the engineer and infiltrator trying to hold down the landing zone...!?!  Of course they both wiped.  The infiltrator went down 4 times in the first minute.  I just knew that I was leaving Gold for good once the team failed.

Imagine my surprise when beginning in the second wave, both the engineer and infiltrator joined up with us in the basement and continued to hold their own.  The only shaky part was the first objective task when neither the infiltrator nor engineer ran to do the objectives.  Since we were all playing without mics, I didn't have a way to communicate with them, so I prepared to go do it myself.  Right before I left cover, off ran the infiltrator, who completed all 4 of the tasks without issue.  He then repeated with each of the other objective waves.

We had a full extraction.  I only used 1 missle and 1 ops pack for the entire game.  It was great.  Sent congratulatory messages to each of them and submitted preference reviews.  Now, my faith restored and objective completed, maybe  I won't be so quick to write off Gold in the future......or maybe not.

Just had two full extractions as team leader this morning!

Got an extraction on GWG when Operation Exorcist ad popped up for me.

Was really boring though, and I'd die to much in a real Gold match due to lag.
