It is incredibly boring imo. People just do it because it's the most reliable source of credits.

But if that's how they want to play their game, and it's their choice. The rest of us can keep having our fun with randoms.

Agreed. I just find it curious that people actually do this, but I'm not gonna try and stop them.

I think the biggest problem (or the "cancer") is that people think that: not my way = wrong way.

Only issue I have with it is that it diminishes the value of being able to handle a "real" Gold game.
People who do constant farming sessions will get the same return as those who pride themselves in earning it without exploits....except the pride part.

If you don't like FBW/Geth/Gold then just put a different oppnent or map in when searching for a gold game, or make the game yourself. There are pleny of people playing other gold maps. The only reward for playing random is XP, so there is no reason in the world for 99% of gold players at level 20 to bother with random maps or oppenents.

Cancer killing Multiplayer are the Elitists who think competitively playing a Horde Mode meant to help everyone means something.

The Tumor happens to be the lack of variety and the metagame, as well as how they still don't have anything outside the missions from the Demo.

Nothing wrong with competitiveness. There's an in-game leaderboard, no?

this problem wouldn't exist if bioware didn't give us plenty of incentive to do it.

it's why they haven't nerfed it yet.

Some competitiveness, no that's not a problem. Taking it too far however, as has been happening here, is a completely differrent story.

And Leaderboards only relfect Promotions rather than other attributes.

If regarding the one for individual score, that does a good job, but mostly on the limited scale of 4-player.

We do however need some new objectives and modes, like a mission mode which could be structure similar to the Suicide mission. IE: splitting the team of to take different position, such as guarding the flank, CTF style objectives, or some hacking mixed in. And Heavier bosses like Harvesters, if they could fit, wouldn't hurt either IMO

I never fully understood why FBW is easiest for Gold Geth.
I always found the science base easier because they walk right up to the counters and you can grab them over.

Mostly People are more familar with White from the demo instead ot the other maps, like Glacier. So long as spawn control is practiced, you could do the same thing on any map.

My team and I just ripped Cerberus up on Hydra without Stasis

Also, it's the unlock "store" that adds to this cancer.

^^^^^This

You need a LOT of credits to unlock stuff. I wouldn't do fbwgg if I knew I would get useful stuff instead of things I already maxed out.

Firebase White Geth Gold. Easy way to "beat gold" and get quick creds. It's popular, but farmers don't understand that they ruin a game.

1) If you farm, you lose your skills. In my own experience I can say that you become worse player and my friends agree too. If you think that it's a first step to gold games, you are wrong. It's on par with bronze and just gives you bad habits like camping in one place and dying.
2) Majority of the public gold games are now FB W/G/G. It means when you want to have fun, try new maps, classes and weapons all you get is one bloody map with bloody weak enemies.

Play different maps and different enemies. Choose random game. Have fun and don't grind.
P.S. Hopefully Bio will fix this with balance changes or with a patch.

They could just do this -

Operation Aggression

Due to overwhelming amounts of losses in Firebase White, the Geth have deployed several tactically trained forces to take the base back. The ultimate amount of N7 Forces there recently has pushed the Geth back. The Geth are not happy, and with this comes retaliation. The Geth will have three times the Primes, and twice the amount of forces on the map. Trained units were sent to retake the base, and have received buffs that will make any player staggered by the sheer force of these units.

It could be in place for a while until people back off, and the Geth will have victory.

*bump* That would be one hell of a challenge. Though it seems they nerfed Decoy already, which sucks because its not as useful in other situations

Dial back people... Its only a game....
And if you don't enjoy it. Leave the lobby or pick another game.

All this complaining and you have the power to avoid it... Its the individual scoring which is cancer in a team sport... People worried over an arbitrary number as what they did.

The way I see it, there's very little I can say that someone else in this thread hasn't already - but screaming and kicking about wanting more randomness and less "noobs" is kind of redudant. It's an easy process to get "skilled" quickly at this game, since it's not particularly hard to begin with (and that includes both multiplayer and singleplayer) and there really isn't much randomness around to begin with.

Basically, with or without folks spamming FBWGG like their lives depended on it the only real random element will be the squad you end up with - and what stuff you get out of the packs you buy to a lesser degree.

Geeezzzz people! Stop whining and play the freakin game. Plenty of topics here with Gold playing members. I play on PS3 (less players than PC AND 360) and don't have to wait more than few minutes to have a descent game on gold.

Agreed.

IMO, Bioware should just suspend FBW:G:G already for being abused by players, and then put a failsafe spawn-point to buck this strategy. Teach those worthless farmers.

If they do that then there will simply be a new geth farming map that will become popular. Played with a group the other night that insisted we only play geth on hydra. Stuck around for a couple matches and it worked almost as well as firebase white. (We camped at the far end by the ammo crate.) That said I am by no means endorsing geth farming, I'm just trying to point out that the real problem is the AI and the geth being so vulnerable to camping.

Law of unforeseen consequences. By putting in the store with expensive packs that unlock the best gear they created an incentive for people to earn credits and since people are inpatient they want the best gear as soon as possible and they will look for a way to obtain it. And since people found out about an easy and legit way to get the credits to buy spectre packs they use it.
Similar thing happened when valve introduced the random drop system into TF2 their intention was to make unlocking weapons easier just by playing game but instead myriad of idling servers sprung with only point to them. People would connect and then go afk for long periods of time waiting for the desired item to drop.
It is always fun to watch when some rule is implemented to real world or game world only to see it backfiring against the users or creators of the rule or both.

The only problem here is the awful item system. Implement a better one and farming would end instantly.

The only problem I can see here is the silence from BioWare's part! They completely ignore us. No news on fixes, no news on patches, no news on new game mods, no nothing. Balance changes you say? Weekly operations you say? It's good, but not enough! I know it's a co-op game and it's not big as Battlefield or Call Of Duty, but if they want to continue milking us for more money, they have to fix their game, so the players are happy when they play it, and offer us more variety.

The game came out almost 2 months ago. In the current state I give it another 4, then it will be completely dead! Cheers!
