Clarity can only take you so far. Since ME resembles DX:HR I'll use it as an example. If you took away the voice overs and cinematics at the end and just had the game end with the button push and the facility being destroyed. That would be Mass Effects current ending.
DX:HR explains the motivations and consequences of which button you push(changes depending on your actions too), which makes it a lot better than ME3. ME3 can catch up to an extent by adding the explanations, but it won't fundamentally change anything with regards to the "button pushing" or how it is presented.

Let's just put all our doubts and negative opinions on the ec for a second, and think if it really IS awesome? It pulls a freaking great plot twist, there are different endings and it basically out does it's self...

Will it rekindle BioWare's rep? It's been pretty damanged as of late. The ME3 endings and DA2 was kick to the quad, so do you really think that 30/40 min of hopefullly awesome new content would bring back BioWare from that hole it's dug it's self in?

Please, I want an opinion without bias. I know alot of people are still angry, and I understand that. BioWare hasn't been handling the whole thing as best as they could have. But this is something that interests me.

Then I will be pleasantly surprised.

Garrus will eat his rifle, and I'll buy DA3.

Bioware has made it clear that the EC won't actually change the ending at all. No amount of "clarification" or other additional info can get me to accept an ending in which Shepard's choices suddenly mean nothing and bows before some celestial brat. And even if the EC reveals things that go against what the original ending implied (ie Normandy crew starving on that planet), then that would be a tacit admission from them that the original ending was screwed up. Hell, one could argue the very existence of the EC is a tacit admission the ending sucked.

It is clear you didn't understand the original ending to begin with.

It's quite amazing how many people are shooting it down before it even arrives.

Man, it's like pre-launch all over again. Why are you people still here?

If it can address day 1 paid DLC for story critical material, an incomplete on shipping day product and fulfill the ads and interviews before release then I would be impressed.

It would certainly make be more content. I know BioWare is a great developer. I'm just hoping EA won't rush them anymore.

Honestly, even if it isn't awesome, they can't really make the ending even worse than it already is.  It's going to be an improvement no matter how you slice it.  Just how much of an improvement is up for debate.
