It's gotta be closing in on 10 million. In each of the Gold matches I played this weekend there were at least 60-75 Phantoms per match. They start spawning on wave 3 on Gold, and it's usually 4 per spawn, and waves 6-10 we get double and triple spawns. So just some cursory numbers:
Wave 3 - 4+
Wave 4 - 4
Wave 5 - 4
Wave 6 - 8+
Wave 7 - 12
Wave 8 - 12
Wave 9 - 12
Wave 10 - 12+
Total 78+ Phantoms per match, and that might be a low estimate.
On money waves they keep spawning until objectives are completed, so depending on how fast or slow you complete the objectives you could end up with more or less than the above.
At that rate it would only take like 13,000 completed Gold matches against Cerberus to complete the objective, and that's an absurdly low number. If you factor in all of the Silver and Bronze matches as well, I'd say the number of dead Phantoms across all systems will likely approach the 10 million mark.
Yeah, I fear my estimate may be low for these reasons, but I also believe that some people may have relaxed in their persuit of victory. Still, I like your numbers better.
