I'm running a Bowman through on Hard and it's going very smoothly. I don't remember the Ogre being so easy to defeat after he goes down then there a bunch of darkspawn to take care of. Still I don't remember it going quite like that before. I guess I'm just a better bowman than I remembered ha ha. What do you think?

It is more balanced (throughout the game) but yes overall it seemed much easier after the balancing patch. I remember having a hell of a time with the first ogre without having someone with heal and effective potion use. Some enemies are still difficult. *Looks at Monstrous Spiders* MASSIVE dps last time I played.

Yes. The patch reduced the health of all the elite/boss enemies and just generally made the game a lot easier. If you're finding hard too easy now maybe try out nightmare - with the patch it's not quite as punishing.
On nightmare that ogre can still be a bit of a pain since attack ratings are so ridiculously low, but the enemy friendly fire means you can just let him charge around killing all the other darkspawn. Quite amusing really.

The ogre was always easiest if you went ranged to take him down. Since you're not a mage you have the option to go 2 ranged vs 1 ranged.
The monsterous spider is pretty unique in its damage. Pretty sure it auto-crits. this was denied by the devs, yet every time it his a character, the bar flashes white.

The game is WAY easier after the patches. I have finnished the game 7 times, everyone of them on Nightmare, 5 prepatch and 2 post. Might be that I have gotten better at the game but still feels easier. Also "balancing" damage done to bosses was stupid, now we can't play around with our 100k+ crits on Orsino
Only good thing about it is that they removed FF from basic attacks from Warriors.

So it wasn't my imagination(didn't read patch notes really just saw there was an update and did it).
As a rogue i just owned from beginning to end, almost took half the hp of an Ogre with backstab or twin fangs. Also notice with the special items at some point you just 1 shot some of the easy mobs.
I don't play nightmare btw, just normal or hard.

Last month I bought MOTA which comes with patch 1.3 and only just realised I must have checked maybe 10 times recently the game hadn’t reset itself to normal mode after having taken down a mob or boss too easily.
So the devs have nerfed nightmare mode huh. Rather late in the day for such a big list of changes isn’t it with only the hardcore still playing, were the 2% on nightmare complaining it was too hard or what, can’t say I saw much of it, or are we beta testers for DA3?

They made nightmare much easier and it's not just health of monsters, it was also a heavy nerf of stagger, where non warrior classes used to regularly die in animation stun lock when 2-3 regular archers focused them.
Plus if you have DLC gear, it feels like casual difficulty. As warrior you can get 70%+ damage reduction, big 2 handed weapon as soon as you reach Gamlen's hut. You can pretty much solo at this point, not even needing pots unless it's a boss/elite.
