 I recently installed some item mods and they appear on my main character, but whenever I make a new character they are absent from my bags, does anyone know how to fix this?

I don't know whether this is a true fix or simply "it worked for me", but I ran into the exact same issue on my latest character. All of the official swag appeared in my new character's inventory just fine, but equipment from fan mods did not. I just shrugged and kept playing, but when I loaded my saved game the next day, it was all there. Perhaps there is something in the origin scenarios that prevents it, but everything appeared just fine when I loaded a save in Ostagar. (Your mileage may vary)
