Where does Bioware stand with you now, after the extended cut?

They used to be an A+, and now we're down to a C-. I'll have to see how DA3 goes, but I'll probably buy it used.

I like the EC, it's good enough that I'm going to pick up the DLC for ME3, but I'm going to need some real convincing before I pick up a new series with them. The attitude Bioware held through this whole debacle ("You don't get it"/"Artistic integrity") has been nothing short of condescending. I'm pleased that we finally have something palpable to end what has been my favorite game series of all time, but I don't think I'll ever return to the fan I was before.

I never, for a second, bought the Endor Holocaust theories. It's nice to see them dismissed out of hand. In the end, what we got were fairly impressive additions to each regular ending, making them substantially different from each other now.
The destroy ending is the most conventional, but I like it the best. Society will rebuild and go on as it should. Zaeed retires, Wrex has a baby, life goes on. The funeral was a great touch along with whether or not Shepard is declared KIA. As you know, if he survives, the LI just holds onto the nametag.
The Control ending was by far improved the most! I love Reaper Shepard and him becoming God-Emperor protector of the galaxy is pretty great. Similar to Fallout Tactic's Calculator ending.
Synthesis is still a cop-out, but for those who wanted a happy ending its the best bet.
The Reject ending is EXACTLY what some diehards have been clamoring for, so I really can't take any criticism of this ending seriously, other than it should have been longer.
As someone who never dispised the original ending, I'm very pleased how they turned out. I loved seeing the extra fleet combat, and how each ending played out differently.
Bioware was NOT OBLIGATED to give us any of this. Not only that, they did it for free. They're not 100% in the right, this stuff should have been included originally, and they should have been more honest about war assets, and I doubt they'll ever live down, "LOTS OF SPECULATION FROM EVERYONE!"
That being said, they did got out of their way to improve Mass Effect 3's endings and I applaud their efforts. Be happy guys, you got your victory, and everyone benefited. I still count Mass Effect as one of my favorite game series, and very much look forward to future installments. So thank you Bioware, thanks to the fans who made this possible. Might it just be possible, that we all love Mass Effect enough to want the best for it? So let's put down the guns and rebuild.

Very well written. Thank you for the unbiased, un-fanboy-ish reply. I never hated the orginal ending was just wanting more. I havent played through the new endings, and now I cant wait to start from scratch. Thanks again.

I did all three for experimentation but destroy was my main "Choice"
I kind of snickered at the name tag part with the red ending
Synth/Control - Tali puts the Nametag on the memorial with the other KIAs
Red/Destroy - Tali just stands there with it, and you dont actually see her place it on the wall, lolfadetoblack
SHE DOESNT BEILEVE HE'S DEAD. HIDDEN MEANINGS, CONSPIRACIES.
And in 5000+ Cases, she'd be right.

Never pre-ordering from them again. I also got burned by the **** that F3AR turned out to be after pre-ordering that. Think I would've learned my lesson about pre-orders in general.

Both ME3 and EC never did live up to all my expectations which is as much my fault as it is theirs i suppose.
That being they did listen to a lot of fan feedback to make the extended cut, it may not be what i wanted but its what mass effect needed. it was well produced and all things considered more than satisfactory.
I hope they learn their lessons from ME3 and strive to improve for new projects.

Now it crawled up to a D with EC.
Bioware's whole attitude during this prevented it from going up any higher.
Also, Dragon Age 3 will play into effect of the grade later on, though I will only hire/loan it when it comes out.

That said, I fully respect Bioware for listening to their fans and while not changing the endings, they listened to the fan feedback and provided us with more closure and additional epilogue scenes, which takes the ending(in my humble opinion) from an F to a B. The new endings aren't great(ME2 has one of the best endings ever in my book), but they are CERTAINLY better than the unpolished turd that was pre-EC.
Like I said, BioWare now has a B or B+ in my book. I probably won't buy anything from them again since Mass Effect is the only BioWare product I've owned and played. But if there is any more single player DLC, I will most likely purchase it.

I wouldn't pre-order or buy any of their games new/at full price (unless it was a next gen console bundle or something... and there's no other options)...
Otherwise, I would probably watch someone else play through it and make up my mind from there. If they return to form and I end up enjoying that game, I'll consider pre-ordering/buying new from them again.
But Bioware has slowly been moving toward a business model that doesn't favor complete games at launch. Mind as well wait until the full game releases.

F, what's that? If you're saying D, that means you're never going to buy their products dude. Read what the options are

Possible C. Never pre ordering again, never going to buy a collectors edition again and definitely never going to buy any ME3 DLC. If they're going for some fancy deep and / or profound ending again in say ME4 or DA3 it drops to a solid D and will stay there.

F means they ****ed up big time. Which they did, even ignoring the retarded end.
Did you forget to read the part where I said I will only hire/loan their next games?

I'll put that as in D, cause I don't see the difference between F and D. Sorry. You're not giving them a single cent in D, and if you do play their games it's cause you borrow it from a friend or rent it at some shop.
