I'll give them a B for past effort (love ME, ME2, and KOTOR soooo very much), but I would move that up to an A+ in a heartbeat if they were to release an EC that fixed the game.

If you preorder something you give someone credit for doing something, you trust him.

Most people have lost their trust in Bioware > no more preorders.

Next game will be DA3 - after DA2 I would have said "wait till on discount", but with the current situation you have to be curious if there will be a reason at all to buy it.

Everything depends on the EC. They need the most brilliant storytelling to fix the mess the created. After ME3 they've shown they can't do it, but hopefully they prove me wrong.

E. Never buying anything related with Bioware, unless they create a sequel to Jade Empire, then I'll move to choice B.

Yeah I have to be honest, it would take the hand of God to keep me from buying a Jade Empire sequel. At worst if it got trashed in reviews I might wait to buy it used.

There's more reasons why I would go back to Bioware, but for now I don't want anything to do with them.

A) Completely retconned the ending to ME3
- Most likely they are going to add more cutscenes to the ending and not change anything, so that's out

B) Bring back the Warden in DA3
- DA2 took a side quest from Origins and expanded it, and completely disreguarded the Darkspawn, Old Gods, Morrigan my LI, child,  you know that whole chestnut

C) Sequel to JAde Empire
-They will most likely disreguard the entire franchise or just remake the game

The most likely thing that would spark my interest or even happen out of the three options would be a sequel to Jade Empire, like they said "would like to continue the franchise in the future." Over four years ago they said that.

@ ahandsomeshark I've been so fet up with work, classes, and now Bioware, that I decided to pick up JE and start a new playthrough

The answer is A. I love biowares games and a bad ending isn't changing that.

I wish there was a way to see just how many of you are lying out of spite. The truth is most of you b, c, and d voters will be there day 1 buying one of their games soon. Maybe not command and conquer but da3 I bet.

i pretty much uninstalled all 3 games a month ago and havent bothered with the forums in that time. i popped in tonight to see what was happening and how the mood of the fans was when i saw this thread.

ive had a month of no mass effect, not bothering with the ending, heck not even any bioware products and frankly after all that time im still at a D. i dont trust bioware anymore and ive lost respect for them for me to spend money on their products no matter what it is.

ill be spending my money with developers that i do respect and trust and make products i like. im voting with the money that would of gone biowares way

It depends.

At least the DA team admitted they made mistakes, and the DLC's they have put out for DA2 (MotA & Legacy) have been amazing so far. DA has gotten between A and B.

But on the other hand, the ME team stands at D. They can resolve this by "fixing" the ending. I'm not going into detail on this one, there are more than enough threads out there that discuss this already.

I highly doubt that many are lying.

That's because those games are made by other teams.

The DA team admitted that they've made some mistakes. At least they try to make something better next time. The DLC they have put out for DA2 has been amazing as well (though this is merely my own opinion; I've seen enough people hating MotA because of Felicia Day or something).

Won't happen, because "artistic integrity".

B) Bring back the Warden in DA3

The Warden's tale is OVER. He's not gonna come back and he never will (and even if he does, it's probably nothing more than a cameo (which is already hard to do, since everyone has a different view of the Warden). They've said multiple times that each Dragon Age game features a different protagonist.

Want more of your Warden? Go make fanfic.

Just let the Warden go.

C) Sequel to JAde Empire
-They will most likely disreguard the entire franchise or just remake the game

I've read somewhere on these forums from a BioWare employee that there was a sequel to Jade Empire in the making, but was never finished and will never be made.
Can't exactly remember where (somewhere on the DA2 boards maybe? or was it on the Offtopic board?).

this post is pretty much my point. DA2 was/is considered almost universally to be BioWare's worst game. Many after that cried the fall of bioware, not buying another game blah blah. This is a bit down the line of course but DA3 is likely to sell more than DA 2 and origins.

now you say they admit mistakes and they'll try better next time, while also making good dlc?

how is that different from what ME3 is doing right now? The EC IS them admitting mistakes. Its about as much of a confession as anything bioware said regarding DA2 anyway. Plus, given LotS and Overlord, im positive the DLC for ME3 will be fantastic as well.

I know i'll be pumped for the ME teams next game, and begrudgingly so will many on these boards.

Unless the EC does some serious changes to the ending, I'll just stop playing the ME series as a whole. I will still buy BW products if they interest me though.

They're a bunch of reasons.  People were willing to give Bioware a mulligan after DA2, some people convinced themselves that since the games are made by two different teams ME3 would be fine, other just couldn't resist finding out how the story of a character they've played for 5 years turned out.

But now Bioware has put out two games from two different teams that were obviously rushed.  It's the fooled me once shame on you, fooled me twice...

Also DA:O is Bioware's all time best selling game, I seriously doubt DA3 will even come close to it.

As of right now, I'm at D.

If they fix the BSOD glitch and release a good EC, It'll be at b-c.

There was a time where there were two companies I trusted as an A status. Valve and Bioware. Now it's just Valve.

If the EC is just a polished turd, then its an immediate D.

A. Majority of ME3 was amazing and the fact that Biwoare is responding to fan criticism for the ending at all (when they really do not have to) proves to me that they still care about their fans. It is very obvious Bioware cares about their games as much as it's fans do so I will keep pre-ordering from them if the game they make suits my taste of course.

B. I have never been an 'A' person for any developer anyway.

I buy games based on what I think I might like, and not who the developer is. If BioWare released a Kinect Party Mass Effect version tomorrow, I would not touch it with a barge pole ever. I would however, still buy Mass Effect 4 if it was good.

I totally agree with this. Bioware did not have to do anything to fix the endings if they did not want to. However since they want to make people happy they are trying yet nobody wants to give them a chance. I was a bit disappointed with DA2 (which was probably a given since Origins is my all time favorite game) but the amazing DLC proved that the team was listening to criticsm and learning. To add to that recent discussion proves that they are totally implementing a lot of things players wnat in DA3.
I for one am looking forward to the Extended Cut and all future DLC for ME3 as well as the teams next project. Just give them a chance people.

Where bioware stands now? Let's put it this way: somewhere between a sickening joke and a bad joke.

I used to think they could write. I foolishly thought that that was their focus and their main strength as a developer. Now I see that they can't write at all, or at least have such a lack of oversight and pride in their work that they allow absolute dross to end out their AAA trilogy. Therefore, D.

I never had them on a pedestal. Great developers, but there are ton of others on equal or better grounds imo. I always go with B unless the series has earned my trust. So Bioware, I still have as B. I'm done with Mass Effect though. Perhaps in time, I could fire up 1 and 2 again, but not any time soon

I'll wait for the EC.

But I'm going to go with D if it doesn't deliver. I've never seen a company handle a problem so badly by burning it's fans and purposely dividing it's own community just to cover themselves.
