Hi folks, yet another installment of my guides for underrepresented classes. I am currently rendering a gameplay video with both builds as well as an extensive audio commentary. But I will post the basics here.

Talon Precision Build:

Marksman: 4 Accuracy, 5 Headshot, 6 ROF and Accuracy
Concussive Shot: Nothing (currently thinking this might be a better option on the Talon build but for now leaving it as it is).
Proximity Mine: 4 Radius, 5 20% Damage, 6 Cooldown
Passive: 4 damage and stability, 5 headshot, 6 damage and stability (I cannot stress enough how important maximun weapon stability and damage is for both builds, MAX IT!)
Fitness: 4 Melee, 5 Shield Recharge, 6 Melee Synergy (Fitness choices are optional)

As I said I think concussive shot might actually be better on this build but for now this is it. I cannot overstate how important getting 55% weapon stability is along with 30% weapon damage. This will make you a killing machine and negates the kickback from the Talon (as well as many other weapons) Combining passive headshot alogn with marksman 25% will give you an impressive 45% head shot damage bonus. All of this is discussed in the videos.

Hornet Rapid Fire Build:

Marksman: 4 ROF, 5 Durationt, 6 ROF and Accuracy
Concussive Shot: Nothing
Proximity Mine: 4 Radius, 5 20% Damage, 6 Cooldown (200% recharge allows you to use it very often, fantastic against Atlases)
Passive:
4 damage and stability, 5 headshot, 6 damage and stability (I cannot
stress enough how important maximun weapon stability and damage is for
both builds, MAX IT!)
Fitness: 4 Shields and Health, 5 Shield Recharge, 6 Shields and Health (Fitness choices are optional)

Apart from the weapon the only real difference (barring that I currently would favour Concussive Shot over Proximity Mine for the Talon Build) is in Marksman. It is built to optimise the use of the Hornet. I do not yet have the Hurricane and if I get it I will test it extensively and modify the Rapid Fire Build accordingly. From what I have the Hornet is by far the best rapid fire weapon there is (of both SMGs AND ARs). It is light, accurate, has an incredible ROF, reload time and good damage.

The videos willl be up in a few hours.

Feel free to post impressions and ideas.

Oh and why I don't use the Revenant. Big, clunky, insane reload time and it is outclassed by the Hornet in 9/10 ways.

Why choose duration over headshot at rank 5 MM for hornet build?

Because I favour sustained fired over the headshot bonus there.

Alternatives to the Talon?

Still don't have that one yet surprisingly enough.

Many people like the Claymore but I want to take advantage of the increased ROF. Maybe Eviscerator? Not sure...

The hornet build is something I've been using for a while and I love it. it's definitely gold capable, but it still lacks compared to other classes because it relies solely on weapon DPS, with light debuff skills from PM.

generally, if I want to be more useful I'll grab something that can do cc as well. I'm a big fan of the turian sentinel with hornet - you get the stability/damage bonuses from the passive as well as chain overload and warp.

hey stardusk you should post a video with a shotgun build. Turian with marksman makes all shotguns into slug shooters. Paired with a claymore/scimitar/katana and headshots it rapes. I try to get the message out maybe you can help

Currently testing even more builds and yes, shotgun is good. One major issue however is CC, which without Concussive Shot the TS lacks and none of the weapons so far give much of it. There is the Scorpion but is ridiculously OP.

Actually the Talon pretty much is a sawed off shotgun so that is covered.

Another vid that makes me fairly jealous of PC players. There's no way I could keep the reticle that on target on XBox. Really showed when you were mail slotting guardians out back of the tower on Dagger, with a Hornet no less.

I kinda left the Turian soldier in a ditch on the side of the road once I unlocked the Batarian, but I'll give the Hornet a spin this afternoon. I actually already had that same build already, except with headshots instead of duration on Marksman. Perhaps worth a promotion if I find myself yearning for an extra 3 seconds of rapid-fire.

would you recommend scope on Talon, to further tighten the grouping, or is marksman sufficient?

I wasn't mail slotting them though it is possible. I had AP Ammo III, I just shot at them.

It's a matter of taste. I personally hate scopes on pistols so I don't use it; it is more accurate but then you can to skip another good mod like damage barrel or AP mod.

You absolutely will need scope. Marksman itself is not sufficient if you plan to snipe (headshots) on medium to large distances, as your bullet spread will be reduced by 95% almost making it pin point even on large distances. 60% spread reduction will greatly reduce your ability to snipe with a Talon.

Here is a vid i made where you can check out the difference between 70%,100% and 120% accuracy using a shotgun:

True enough. I limit myself to medium range.

Talon and Hornet is sick with max RoF. Awesome way to play the Turian Soldier. It's amazing how tight the talon spread is with the scope.

Meh I still prefer my Concussive Shot spam Hornet build. Tech Bursts all day. Cc all day. And the Hornet still rapes with the right ammo power; no need for Marksman (though I do pop it against bosses). Not just Gold-viable, Gold-dominant.

Though, again, it does require the right team to really own.
