2. AP ammo + SMG rail + Stability mod (mandatory)
3. Fire from cover for maximum accuracy and reduced recoil
4. Gold is easymode now
Dps is insane. Assault troopers and shieldmen go down in like 0.3 second. Centurions go down in 0.5. Atlases go down in 3 clips, and thats like 10 seconds.
From cover you can headshot things across the map.
In terms of pure damage this build is rivaled only by GI hurricane. GI with hunter mode + cloak bonus kills gold atlas in 2 clips (about 6 seconds).

The weird thing is that it (=Hurricane) is actually way more accurate when fired from the hip??* To me that is really the key. That and Proximity Mine.
*Is that the case too for the Hornet? Didn't use it much because I really can't handle the recoil...

I have featured your strategy guide videos on my website me3multiplayer.com. I've given you full credit and hopefully this will drive a few more views your way (the site gets around 3,000 a day). If you want to submit any builds or additional strategy guides to the site I would love to post those for the fans. Thanks for your hard work... Game On!

Thank you very much. If you check out my channel, you will find a several Krogan guides (Soldier and Vanguard) as well as a Batarian soldier guide. You are free to post them there as well.

Sadly I do not have the Hurricane yet if I get it tomorrow I will do extensive testing and add to the guide.

Which means the weapon goes from full ammo (5 clips) to OUT OF AMMO in under 20 seconds when using sustained fire (even with extended mag ) ..

It is true but the Hornet has a lot less recoil. Hip firing always reduces recoil. But in the Hornet vid I have max stability 55%+30% from stability mod=85% you can zoom in and there is almost no recoil.

Some people will probably complain that the Heat Sink mod isn't worth it because it's "just chance" but considering that the base ammo count for Hurricane I is 320 rounds, that's a large enough number to get a significantly high enough increase to one's ammo count. Effectively it increases the Hurricane's ammo count from 320 to (give or take a few rounds over the course of a full empty) 464 shots, which is nothing to sneeze at.
In regards to living near the ammo box, assuming you're firing from full to empty and doing nothing but shooting, you'll need to reload every 45 seconds to a minute (firing rate of approximately 600 rpm), but considering the vast difference in DPS between the Hurricane and every other weapon in the game, if you can get it working, it's definitely worth it, as the Hurricane I outdoes every other MP weapon in the game (check this spreadsheet to compare weapons).

Hurricane I got 8 clips not 5. You really don't have to camp at ammo boxes. Just make sure you use heatsink mod, since it effectively doubles your clip size and max ammo.

I won't lie, I prefer the Talon precision build and the more I hear about the Hurricane the more it sounds like you will be living near an ammo crate.
I can cope with the ammo thing, but having to use up a truckload of equipment to make it work is a major turn off for me.

Hurricane I - Damage 93.2, weight 0.85, magazine 40, capacity 260
Hornet X - Damage 67.2, weight 0.45, magazine 24, capacity 216
Who's living near ammo crate, again?

The Hurricane's magazine/capacity is actually half that, Lexa_D. The ammo indicator is lying to your face.

'tis said it shoots 2 bullets per shot, do they deal damage as 1? How does armor DR treat them?GodlessPaladin wrote...

No, it fires one bullet per shot. The lying AMMO INDICATOR is depleted by two with each shot.

Get in a game, fire the Hurricane, look at the number of bullet holes. There will be just one.

I agree the Turian soldier is squishy given the high shields, which is ironic since marksman is best with sustained fire weapons like the Tempest. I just feel the GI is better in every way with a double damage prox mine and passive marksman. The sheer damage boost makes it more ammo efficient.

For the record, at least subjectively the Hornet with heat sink seemds pretty ammo conservative.
