Can ANYONE(looking at you bioware) tell me how the heck Alistair knows about the ritual during the Final Goodbyes/Assualt on Fort Drakon if you DIDN'T share that knowledge with him during Morrigans offer back at Redcliffe Castle.

Is it a bug? So annoying and "immersion" breaking if you ask me.

Oh come on. You know he's always peeking when you and Morrigan get together.

I bet Morrigan told him just to creep him out.

What's sad it that I totally agree.

If that's the case they should have shown Alistair peeking or maybe he just has super hearing? Damn bum broke my immersion, I was like WTF?!? Stole my mojo. :(

Let's put this in perspective, when Leliana asks about stories from Flemeth, Morrigan goes a long way to creep her out to keep her from asking again, and it seems to work.  So yeah, I could totally see that happening.

What I want to know is how Alistair suddenly knew why it was odd that the PC is alive after killing the archdemon and (assuming you recruited Loghain and did the ritual.) Considering he had no idea prior to Riordan telling both of us.

While I appreciate the humorous theories I'd prefer facts. Is this a bug?(leering at bioware)

I have yet to encounter it. When I did the ritual, I had spared Loghain, so no Alistair. When I didn't do the ritual the first time, I spared Loghain, so again, no Alistair. I won't get to experience it this time, as in the game where I'm about ready to do that segment, Alistair is going to die. So, other than speculation, I really can't say.

she asked him first he said no then she came to you to convince him (if you were a female PC) if not then you are the second choice :P

What Robert said is, to some degree, fact.

Morrigan is rather explicit when Leliana asks about tales from Flemeth, and I believe Morrigan says something along the same lines to Alistair at one or two points, so... I really wouldn't put it past Morrigan to say something to Alistair.

Add to this the fact that they implicitly don't like eachother, and it starts looking more and more like the truth. However, as I stated, this is pure conjecture, and I have never encountered it.

I love it when Morrigan tries to creep Sten out.

Ultimately, he wins.

As I recall there is definitely a variable that takes into consideration Alistair knowing about the ritual and/or the baby and not knowing at all -- and there are variations for those lines that I remember writing. So without knowing the specific references you're referring to, I'd say that sounds like a bug.

I can't imagine how Morrigan ended up telling Alistair about it.

Actually, I can.

*march on the way to save Denerim*

Morrigan: I shaged your warden friend last night.
Alistair: UGH!

I love it when Morrigan tries to creep Sten out.

Ultimately, he wins.

Should I cut/paste the dialouge here?

I got the "bug" too--as you're saying goodbye to each companion before the final assault, if you did the ritual as a male Alistair shouldn't know about it.  But he says he knows, it might not work, so goodbye and it was fun.

It actually didn't bother me at the time, seeing as walls are thin and people gossip.  I just figured it was unexplained--my PC wouldn't have kept it secret anyway.

But in the final wrap up (after the coronation) he was clueless about how I'd survived.

^ Exactly.

Thanks for the response David. I guess I'll just plug my ears and look the other way when I re-do that part.(or let Loghain live)

ENCHANTMENT! :wizard:

Yeah, I recall the option of keeping him in the dark about it during the epilogue.

He mentions the ritual before the battle, and then as king is all confused that you survived ("Don't ask" was my response).

It's a bug, the end sequence feels very rushed, the game is in general lacking polish - give it another 3 months or so and hopefully none of this will be an issue. =D

When he says he knows. Do you think he was just referring to you sleeping with morrigan...and not the....deal?

"That ritual won't keep you alive if you go and get your head smashed in" - paraphrasing (but he refers only to the ritual, not to morrigan

"It's kinda odd that you survived at all, being a Gray Warden." - paraphrasing, but as king at the end he clearly doesn't know how you killed the demon without being mutually annihilated.

I want to know how Alistair knows in the epilogue there's a baby involved if my female PC doesn't tell him there's a baby, but just says it's an old blood magic ritual of Flemeth's. Another bug?
