My squad mates kill plenty of enemies by themselves with the particle rifle and any of the ammo powers equipped.

Actually in my experience the AI of squad mates was much improved. Yeah there are times where characters do stupid stuff if left alone. But the AI was never meant to completeley automate youre squaddies. I can understand complaints if you are experiencing squad members not responding to direct orders but their passive AI seems fine to me.

Only problem I sometimes have with squadmates, is PATHFINDING. They often get stuck somewhere and it needs some time until they can reach my position. I'm already in an intense battle and my squadmates still need to find me. There should definitely be a patch, improving the squads pathfinding.

The game is about Shepard, plus it would be too easy if your squadmates did all or even half the work. They're basically there to be bullet sponges and to give you the ability to use powers you wouldn't normally have.

Seriously, name one game in which the squadmates are actually good without being invincible or making gameplay boring.

Star Wars: Republic Commando, Star Wars Knights of The Old Republic (BioWare creation).

i agree. squad mates are useless for anything other than instant cast abilities and meat shields if u tell them to stand between u and enemy, assuming they pay attention and actually go there.
i understand that some people want the challenge of killing all the things themselves but for people that want to enjoy the story and such behind the game, its much better if the squad mates did something good.

Yeah, I forgot about that since I haven't played ME3 in so long. Reaction time of the squadmates to your commands are slow as heck too. And I'm not talking about the voice commands either. :P
