I like the endings. Now let's see if we can get through this forum without me being told how my children are going to die, I'm the next Hitler, and you're all going to come to my house and burn me alive. (The point to this forum is that while people who disliked the endings say they feel alienated, what they don't realize is that they themselves are committing the exact same crime by trying to bully people who do like the ending.)

You're not helping your case by trying to be an attention ****. <_<

I do apologize for this. I'm just very weary of having to defend my love for the series. People just assume that because I liked the endings I must be a COD player who's never played ME before. It's extremely heartbreaking.

It's ok. You're dealing with simple numbers at this time on bsn. You have to let it roll off your back. Take it light.

You need to get used to the fact that on BSN, voicing an unconventional opinion (even if you back it up in a completely rational and thought-out way) will get you called a "troll."

Just get back at everyone by continuing to "troll."

Yearlongjester: I should've clarified, my mistake. I understand the internet is a very aggresive place. I guess I just a bit too optimistic about the open-mindedness and tolerance of this community. Please be aware, I don't mean to target anyone here with that statement, but if you take a look at some of the posts in these forums and polls you'll know what I mean.

Bioware has some of the worst fans. It's like walking through a daycare of screaming babies. Not just here either. Facebook, and Twitter as well.

The best evidence, that the ending dislikers are sometimes a bit pissed. It is always nice to be named "screaming baby" or "whinie entitled [people]". Thank you so much to give us a tenth of the amount of respect we gain your group of people. If you like the ending, good for you, realy you got your ending but we don't.

Not a good start, perhaps something like "I wish people would respect the opinions of others"?

Yeah, woe unto you poor people who like the endings. Those whiny, entitled, immature brats who don't like the endings just don't respect you, do they?

"I've lost respect for this community."

I guess BioWare did it first, sorry about that.

edit: not true, of course.

Everyone has their own viewpoints, respectfully.

However you play is fine, just try to understand there are a few of us, that actually paid attention in class, and were rather dismayed by that farcical ending.

You use the word respectfully, but then you throw out something like "there are a few of us, that actually paid attention in class". Hmmmm.

Sorry but people being mean on the internet? Really? If that "breaks your heart" this probably isn't the place for you. Everyone has pretty passionate feelings on this, so aggressive arguments are bound to turn up. Report those who go too far, otherwise get over it.

Oh grow up please. that attitude is the problem, and it really needs to stop, because the outside world, I.E, the REAL WORLD, doesn't operate like that, and it is shameful that people hide behind the excuse of  "it's the internet, deal with it." every time they theaten to kill someone.

Honestly, to the OP, call the cops on them. Tell them someone threatened your life and find their address via their IP or something. See if they do it again after that, because in the real world that would warrant someone calling on them for a quick checkup.

I do know what you mean. But as I said, expecting the internet to be open-minded and tolerant is just silly. I'm sorry but if you try to be optimistic you'll continue to be disappointed. Also you propagate the continued "Everyone is a jerk" attitude with your statements. You say you've lost respect for the community, when you actually mean a relatively small percentage of it. I don't go around saying all Pro-enders are morons (they aren't), please don't make blanket generalizations in kind. Thanks.

Not everyone gets what they want. Even though I liked the ending, it still wasnt everything I wanted nor did I think it would be. Which is fine. And if you want further evidence of the screaming baby analogy, just go on Biowares or Mass Effects FB page and just read the wall of crap people post evertime something is announced.

OP's children will (not) die.

OP is (not) the next Hitler.

We're all (not) going to come to your house and burn you alive.

Quit being dramatic, state your opinion, and defend it rationally. Intentionally being inflammatory, yourself, while chastising others for their inflammatory nature, should cause the highest order of dissonance within you.

You can't expect someone like the  OP to respect the other side. As my father told me, show respect to others as you expect to be shown to yourself.

The OPs opening gives off no respect and the OP shouldn't expect any in return.

Calling the Police? LOL yes because officers from the United States have jurisdiction in Europe.

Seriously just report them to the Moderators... if they go to far ignore them its not like they're beating you to death. :wizard:

I respect anybodys opinion and right to enjoy things for how they see them. I too love the series though and thats why I didn't want to have a bunch of questions and speculation mixed in with zero closure at the end of "Shepard's Journey". But If you don't have any of these questions and you have closure, more power to you. I don't have either.

So you're trying to provoke aggressive posts?

Never seen anything like you described. People who liked the ending didn't get it or didn't play ME1 + 2 - that's my opinion but not offensive. What you describe is worth banning someone from the boards.

So report those people, case closed. They are the minority.

See that's the problem. Somebody likes the ending, it is "you just don't get it" or somebody dislikes the ending and it's "you just don't get it."

Let's face it, it's the same ****. It's alienating to both players because it is a non-vulgar way of calling somebody an idiot, saying that they simply don't have the ability to grasp whatever your differing opinion is and thus theirs is wrong.

But hey, who cares? Most don't care to see the person behind the pixels anyway

Thats the normal thing to do.

But when it goes too far, thats where it becomes an issue. That is what the OP is trying to say, I assume at least. Kind of like what happened to Jen Hepler a while back, that type of ugliness is what gives us as a gaming community a bad name.

Well if you genuinely like the endings then that just means you have horrible taste and don't really deserve any energy expendature for anger.

Next.

Give me one example of someone badmouthing you personally. It seems pretty rare, especially considering we are on the internet.

You know what I see far more often? The 'Shepard Deserves Better Fans' or 'Loyal Bioware Fan' (which you yourself have) in their signature.

So what are you saying? I'm not loyal because I dislike the ending and want it changed? I made a post blaming EA and saying people should take it easy on Bioware, I'm still not loyal enough am I?
You seem to be judging me.

I think anti-enders (like me) should not insult others because they like it
but I do think that when you liked the ending(no war assets seeing fighting, ****ty godchild, not knowing what the hell happens with your squad and the races)
you are not a real mass effect fan !

That's cool bro. Can you defend your opinion on the endings?

I don't have a problem with rational critiques.

Others............

Well, that's rather the problem at heart, here. There are very few rational, sensible critiques from any given camp, let alone also charitable and/or respectful, and the signal-to-noise ratio is nothing less than utterly deplorable.

Whether you're pro- or anti-ending, if you have decent commentary you can fully expect to be drowned out or shouted down by people far more interested in maintaining a narrative than having meaningful conversation.
