As far as I know, very few people have been attacked for liking the endings. 

Most simply say 'I'm happy for you.  But I could never agree with you.'


The most I've seen done is some aggressive comments on back and forth arguments on the merits of the endings themselves. 

And if that's what you mean, well then, I'm not sure what to say.  Welcome to being an adult, not everyone is going to be nice while they argue with you.


Finally, why should I care what 1 random member of the forum thinks of me since he obviously dervied that opinion, not from personal interaction but from a generalization made by observing a few fringe elements?



In summary. 

Happy for you, can't ever agree with your opinion on the endings, and don't care what you think of me.

Proending threads tend to end badly because 9 times out of 10 the OP resorts to using any combination of "Entitled Fans", "You just wanted a happy ending", "TEH ARTISTIC INTEGRITY!"

Why is there so much hate between the pro and anti-enders right now?

Well. Look at it this way. Lots and lots of people, sorry I mean a vocal minority, doesn't like the ending.
In fact many people are devastated, depressed and very angry over the ending. So they come to the forum to talk to other people in the same situation. It is very much like group therapy the way I see it. Where you can discuss and try to understand wtf just happened and try to figure out if the writers just was high when writing the ending or if EA pushed them to rush the ending.

And then there is the group of pro-enders that like to rub it the anti-enders faces on how childish they are, how unintelligent they are, how "entitled" they think they are etc etc.
(This goes both ways BTW)
Of course that is going to stir up flame wars.


Imagine me walking in to a AA meeting and start saying how weak minded they are, and that I don't have any problem what so ever to control my drinking and that they should just stop feeling so damn sorry for themselves.

You are troll...how do I know this? Let me just use your post as an example and tear it apart. 

Your title: "I've lost respect for this community." From the very beginning, you have already let us know that you do NOT respect us. In order to get respect, you have to give it first. Treat others as you would want to be treated. You aren't offering, so why should you expect to receive it? Also, as has been mentioned too many times to count already on a ton of other threads...that vast majority of posts here are filled with respect...it is the minority that are not. 

The very fact that you chose this as your title already tells me that you are wanting a fight...you are not here for anything of merit.

You state: "I like the endings."  Well, bravo for you. Many of us would wish we could say the same...however, it just can't be the case. We feel that Bioware let their entire series down for the want to create an ending that is too similar to another game. Then when they realized how badly they had blown it, they pull the "artistic integrity" card. 

Then your follow on sentence it to actually give examples of insults or threats that other people can give to you...WTG! As if those that wanted to insult you need examples. 

From what I can see, you came to this forum, made this post...and you are TRYING to pick a fight. 

You are a sad little person...hope you enjoy you measly bit of attention...

The problem is many anti enders don't even try to discuss what happened. Anything said to them is dismissed as trolling or stupidity or being paid by bioware/ea, etc. I've seen just as many insults thrown by anti enders as pro enders so don't act innocent.

Shepard Wins: your post only makes sense if this particular topic had nothing to do with the endings. Unfortunately for you, this post was specifically about the endings.

Not to mention that my original post in this topic had nothing to do with anti-enders or their movement.

This is basically what I think is the major problem right now. Wether you like or dislike the ending it's hard to find interesting threads. They get buried under the tons of duplicate flame threads from either side. I wish people could stick to existing threads more or that the moderators (might need more of them tbh) could be a bit stricter. They could close more threads or even better, merge them. Just to keep the place in better order and to stop threads from falling off the first page in like 15 minutes.

And regarding the ending, I'm fine with it. I still want the option of a sappy happy sunset ending with my LI though however unrealistic that would be.
