A skilled biotic should be able to do something like lift/pull on oneslef without losing balance. I think it's safe to assume it's going to exhaust the biotic pretty quickly, though.

assuming you're powerful enough, the slightest push from the ground would be enough to send you upwards for as long as the field is maintained

it's how mass effect drives work

less friction + light mass = a little bit of thrust goes a long way

It's almost impossible for normal biotics - Niftu Cal is a god, and not bound by mortal rules.
Also, the elcor fainted.
