There is no "What if", because if the starchild remains in the story, then it IS terrible.  I assume you're asking "What do we do after it comes out?"  Continue our protests.  Continue holding the line until justice is served.  Because Tali deserves a better ending.

The ending crap, as you put it, will never blow over because the ending IS crap.  It is the end of the series/franchise.  Now the EC will NOT fix the ending at all.  NOTHNG will change, they are just slathering icing on the steaming pile of crap that is the end of ME3.  Thus, for a while the "ending crap" WILL continue.  In fact, with the release of the EC, once everyone who is sucker enough to actually download it and play the game again to see it actually does so (suckers!), the riot will flare up again for a short while.  THEN the number of people around these parts (the ME section of BSN) will start draining away to a large extent, leaving only the hopeless fanboys who will love anything and everything Bioware spews no matter what.  The future DLC will not make anywhere near the money they hoped/expected because they will have pushed most of their fanbase away for good.  People will move on to better games and forget this whole series and all will be peace and light again in the REAL world.

The crap is not over but the end IS in sight.  You have yet to experience the suck that is the EC.

Well I must hand it to EA/BW they wanted a game that would be talked about for months to come and they got just that, though most would prefer to be talked about an remembered in a good way, in this they failed and it will bring in nothing but hate and anger for many months to come.
They can't suck up their pride and admit they were wrong in their ending concept and so the end is near maybe not right away but it is coming for BW to enter the vapor of closed and forgotten company's that EA had buried in the past.
I'm feeling a sense of remorse already for Dragon Age 3 as it is rumored to be implementing multi-player so they too will probably go with the theme of ME3, but this time around I will not be pre-ordering the collectors addition and will wait several weeks to buy it if at all.
I will say my prayer for BW over their grave as EA shuts their doors and drop flowers on their casket and say my peace.

You're a very much a glass half empty person but sadly, my expectation for EC are also very low.  I don't know how they can just "explain" that plot hole filled and circular logic ending.  At best I'm hoping the end for me will go from "WTF just happned?" to "meh".

well we allready know how thats gona turn out since a number of people already stated they wont even download the thing for free

my question is if there so butthurt and anal about it why continue posting on the forums at all?


are they that desperate for attention?

Why continue to troll people if you're all happy and satisfied with the product? Why continue to insult people who never insulted you? All good questions.

As for why I'm still here, I like reading how other people feel about things. I like reading theories on hidden meanings or possible plot twists. I like knowing what people experienced. I like sharing my own thoughts. I like talking about Mass Effect.

Doesn't mean I like ME3's ending or lackluster polish.

The sad fact of the matter is that it doesn't matter what Bioware does, people already have their minds set on hating it and will hate it when it comes out because they just want to.

I'll enjoy it even though personally I'm happy with the game I got but anyone who says that "oh if it's awful then i'm going to protest some more" already has their mindset in one that they are going to complain about it.

are you asking me? and again i havent insulted anybody im just stating im annoyed that this place is cluttered with the same threads 50 times a day. i tend to speak up about it politley and yet im labeled insulting people?

What happens? Well, I suppose I reaffirm my bitter dislike for the ending, as well as my stance that I'll not be purchasing any Mass Effect 3 DLC, and possibly having that extend to Bioware products in general depending on their attitude to peoples' reactions regarding the EC.

I've said it before and I'll say it again; The way Bioware treated the fans who were upset by the ending was far worse than the ending itself.

Well, a glass IS half-empty if you are in the process of drinking it down.  It is half-full while in the process of filling it up.  

I suspect you are correct that the EC will merely take the ending from WTF? to Meh.  There isn't enough dialog in the world that can make the illogical logical, the patently ridiculous and self-evidently self-contradictory to the opposite.  Having OTHER characters in the game yammer on about the nonsense of "synthetics always turn on their creators"or "yeah, makes sense that one would create synthetics to kill organics before their own synthetics can do the job...and all to save organics!"  No exposition of ANY kind can fix the uber-godlike power of the starturd kid who can wave his god hand (not 'god-like' but actual GOD) and nearly instantaneously, at at vast distances, turn EVERY organic lifeform into a magical combo of synthetic-organic all over the galaxy.  THAT is magic and THAT is literally a power of a god.  No god can be as ridiculously stupid and vapid as the starturd, however.  So epic fail.

What if Bioware lied about Extended Cut being clarification? What if they're actually creating an alternate ending, or simply removing the starchild and its idiotic choices? And then they release it and say "Surprise!"

Heh... Not likely. But if they did that, I would forgive them just enough to stop my constant ranting.

if DA3 is bad also, that's another nail in their coffin.

It won't happen, though. DA3 will be a big improvement over DA2 and the EC will appease most people, particularly those will few expectations. That's what I believe, at least.

starchild isnt the issue and you know it. face it if the current ending answered everything you wanted with starchild you wouldnt say such things right now

and i just love how you assume you know what the ec is when theres no details about it
