Sorry folks but ME's plot really isn't that revolutionary. What made it awesome was the characters, the atmosphere and lets face it the special FX. ME was a big warm comforting fluffy game that was a total pleasure to play. It's plot was highly derivative and cliche's but no one ever cared before.

Hear hear. And if we now compare what you just described in the quote to what we've got with the endings and we're coming closer to what might be wrong with it in parts.

My expectations have gone below sea level. I'm with ToaOrka, let's be realistic here.

Ahha! Good people of BSN... a once rare creature has come upon us... or is that not so rare?

This, my dear fellow forum members, is a wonderful example of trollinicus patheticas. Notice how this poster has single handedly tried to stir up trouble while other pro-enders, anti-enders and neutrals have not?

Very nice to meet you, trollinicus patheticas. Here... have a cookie.

u know how in me1 at the end there was a pretty cool battle scene with sovereign and if u were renegade the destiny ascension makes an awesome explosion and what the asari say is great.
anyway, there was a cpl little snippets of space battle in me3 but before any of them could get good it just cuts to shepard doing whatever. me3 ending could have been better if they just showed more of the actual battle

If the EC would end up being terrible, I would give up hope for ME3 and just stop playing it entirely.
I would then bury the game in it's box, and set a stone saying "RIP ME3".
It would be too painful to play it again. It would be better off forgotten - but only If the EC is Terrible.

They're are only adding to the ending, not changing it. Which means the themes that were only introduced in the last five minutes of the game and were incongruous with previously established themes will remain. Therefore, the Extended Cut might reach the level of 'good', but it will never reach the lofty heights of 'awesome'.

[quote] This hatred has consumed and twisted you retakers against the company you once stood by, for shame.I shall pray that the retakers may find forgiveness and peace in Bioware once more, one day. [\\quote]

Man it is hate speech like this of antiretakers or retakers , that drives the logical people to say stick it up your hinnie troll , yes TROLL ...

here you have it , you know what put your money where your mouth is buy 100$ worth of bioware points and let it rot ... I would have done so cause if ME3 ending was absolute fabulous .

I honestly don't care about the extremes of retakers or antiretakers ..
Infact it is people like you that drives to say heck let me pay for a Billboard .. and make a slogan entitled whinning trolls are ruining the game industry .
Ban them all ...

Honestly go fight your wars else where , BSN lost it class cause of people like you .

There is no "if" about it the EC will suck and that's a guarantee, off site polls and surveys have all shown that the catalyst (star child) is the biggest problem and considering that they said they won't change that how can they possibly succeed at this? Not to mention the normandy crashing on some random jungle planet that won't be changed either right?

Nothing other than a complete ending revamp can change this the extended cut is nothing more than some half assed attempt to make people happy and it's not going to work.

If EC is bad then BW will have pretty much ended itself.

*SIGH* Of course it is going to be "terrible". The ending, the entire series (as a result) is terrible and so logic rules that the EC MUST be likewise terrible. See, Bioware has DOUBLED DOWN on their retardation. Instead of doing the right thing and admitting they f*cked the ending - for whatever reason...doesn't matter really...they f*cked the ending - they have doubled down on the craptastical, illogical, juvenile, moronical ending and promise to provide an EC that fleshes out the retardation even more.

Yahoo!

The EC WILL be terrible. The ME series is terrible. Ipso facto.

Let me lay it out for ya'll: you play through ME1 and ME2 and you THINK you get the gist of the game. You THINK it revolves around the theme of getting past differences and that working together and diligently that you can overcome impossible seeming odds. Indeed, the end of ME1 AND ME2 scream this. Hell's bells, you get this same theme in ME3 until suddenly about 10 minutes from the end you find out what the REAL theme and point of the game was. See, the ENTIRE series boils down to a retarded 9 year old child. That's it. A retarded 9 year old child pops up and totally overturns the ENTIRE plot/theme of the ALL that came before it in the series and tells you all you need to know: 9 year old children get what they want or they throw a tantrum. You are REQUIRED to accept the "logic" of 9 year olds and cave in the way all "good parents" do.

ALL the decisions, missions, etc, that came before in ME1 through 90% of ME3 are nothing but filler. It is all just to spin your wheels and expend time so that the last 10 minutes has SOMETHING to fall off of. Seen that way (the objective reality way) you see that the EC is irrelevant. It is as irrelevant as the entire rest of the series. ALL you need to know is the last 10 minutes of ME3. That's it. Anything more than that, be it previous game playing OR forthcoming "EC" is crap. I've pretty much moved on and not touched ME anything. See, I GET the ending: it is crap and the entire game is thus crap so there is no need to waste any more time playing it or thinking about it. EC schmeecee, who gives a flying f*ck?

So...now I'm going to log off and go back to a GOOD game: Deus Ex: Human Revolution (the music kicks ME @ss too!).  Also, Diablo III is available!  Move on like normal people and forget the unfortunate episode that is Mass Effect.  It is dead.

What do you mean "if", it likely will suck because it does not address the problem only tries to minimize the symptoms/consequences.

@getorex , good you go play diablo 3 and join the casual lot and spent a lot of money ..
Or games too difficult to play on hardcore :P

Since you moved on good for you , and I moved on from blizzard for the same reason
But hell be damned if I don't want to try to save mass effect trilogy .
yes it is a TRILOGY not a STAND ALONE , it is SHEPARD TALE ..
Not warden , hawke and another to be anounced tale ....

A huge difference , it is we are allowed to tell our shepard tale aside from bioware canon .
All those intentions were promised from the start of trilogy , halfkept with DLC that made them money, now abandoned ? for what purpose , to save somebody who cannot see what he did cause of EGO ?

Ofc it did. The pro-boys are hard at work to heat things up.

As usual.

Then they balance you out well with all your hard anti work

Narh. I'm more laid back.

Some of the pro's, though, they snatch up those threads as soon as they get posted;)

Exactly.

The plot of the whole series isn't that exciting to begin with. It was all about how it was served that made up the experience. And not to forget a set of memorable and loveable characters.

That's what's escapism is about and games are mainly played to get away from daily life. If the ending is perceived as a kick where it hurts most, there's something wrong.

Oh for crying out loud look we had an absolutley awesome 3 games which we all loved and some of us well most of us where not happy about the ending. But that's it. It really dousn't deserve this sheer amount of contention and bile. All this talk of shoveling feces lol if anyones doing that it's the fans.

Am I the only one that thaught the end made total sense and was completeley in the spirit of the series? I mean yeah the god-child came out of nowhere but then again if he existed why would he have talked to anyone before that moment? But that is hardly a new feature in ME, Lot's of things come out of the woodwork or happen for no apparent reason. I love how people pretent that ME is some kind of motzart level masterpiece that was ruined by EA moneygrubbing. I actually stand by what bioware was doing only thing that i hated about the ending was that the state of the galaxy afterwards was left completley up in the air. If this dlc answers at least most of those questions then i will close the book on mass effect a happy man.

Arguing from authority is kind of cheap I know, but the common consensus is that the writing at the end of ME3 was ****** poor (we are getting the EC after all). Introducing some deistic, hologramatic child to totally demystify the Reapers, render past player choice moot and take the series off on some weird, metaphysical tangent at the 11th hour (and with 15 lines of dialogue) was patently not the way to go. That you somehow managed to enjoy your ending is great, but it’s my view others are super-pissed with theirs for very good reason.

EDIT: I hope that the EC delivers for us both.

if it sucks then we have mass effect 3 and DA2 AS EVIDENCE that prove bioware games are no longer guranteed to be great and accept that the bioware we knew and loved is now just another game developer and buy titles with caution ... i remember a time when the bioware logo meant greatness ... that time may have come to a end THERE LOSS
