Hahahaha! I'm sorry, but that honestly cracked me up. lmao! (yeah, ok, I'm easily amused!)

I actually thought the Garrus/Tali pairup was awesome. I was fully planning on playing ME3 with my 'main' shep, who happens to romance Garrus. Once I heard that they would pair up, I thought that was so awesomely adorkable, that I swapped my main shep for my Liara romance shep, just so I could have those two as a couple. They are my favorite characters (along with EDI)....so yeah, I think its great that they can get a bit of happiness in the mddle of all the chaos, good on them.

I would never have predicted this.  It never occured to me that here, in BSN of all places, that this would happen.

As I contemplated this rejoinder,  tears filled my eyes from the sheer and utter ...incisiveness of this unbelievably witty and erudite riposte.

Here I thought I was just jousting with another rube, but no - I run into a writer for the humour section of the New Yorker.

She gets his attention, love, and affection prior to the final mission, and he gets what? To lick her helmet?? LMFAO!!

As soon as she made her intentions clear with "Something to come back to??? I'm only using you for your body" I was like "DAAAAAAAAAAAAAMN GARRUS!!!"  I honestly felt bad for the guy.

The biggest peeve I have with Tali/Garrus hooking up is that I feel like it was an effort from Bioware to present Liara as the "canon" romance. You can't start a romance with any of the ME2 characters, they pair off two of the fan favorites, and Kaidan/Ashley are out for pretty much half the game.

I wouldn't actually have much of a problem with this if Liara also got with someone if not romanced.

In all seriousness though, immature as I'm aware my comment was (and in retrrospect probably should not have made; I even apologize for it, gentleman that I am), it was about as constructive to this thread as your posts have been, and was far more concise besides.

Now, if you would care to explain your points thoughtfully and without resorting to insults, I would be more than glad to do the same in return.

Why are people so sensitive about it? There are people that thought the relationship was forced. The advise given was, "yeah, it was forced, ignore it. Out of sight out of mind".

The only reason I can see people obsessing over this is if you guys were the guys that suggested they add it and loved it and are offended that people don't think it was a good idea.

On a related subject, I just saw the last South Park episode that was about this. A black girl moved in and had feelings for Kyle and Cartman spent the whole episode trying to get her to forget Kyle and go for Tolken because they were both black, so obviously they should be together. It just reminded me of this issue.

Wait..what?

A golden unicorn suddenly appears in the men's restroom as a squadmate in the final half of the game - "oh well, just cos you and myself didn't see it develop doesn't mean it doesn't make sense."

It's not a big deal. Again.... it's not in any cut scenes and can easily be ignored. If people who don't like it annoys someone.... you can ignore the people that don't like it.

My point was pretty simple. 

Only Shepard - and via Sheppy, the player, gets to tap Talitail.  It's pretty straightforward.  Every response by a Talifapper so far has been completely predictable, from the "She's mine whether I romanced her or not," right down to the "Gee, yuir sex doll crack is old, herpderp."  D'uh.

It was an illustration of how this thread will inevitably devolve.  I was just slapping 'em around a bit, Talihatin' monster that I am.  I have a hard time taking any thread on Tali seriously, unfortunately.  It's impossible to talk about her without the 'fappers a-****** and ruining it.

Tali and Shepard is that "little sister" vibe, Shep taking advantage of a young girl's hero worship.  I am just not cool with that, and I can't understand why others are - it's like trying to hook up with your best buddy's little sister now that she's filled out - 17 and ripe for your 25 year old slobber.  "Dude - she seduced me!"  Dafuq.

There ain't no way that's not creepy.

See, here we come to the point of the issue. You don't think that Tali/Shepard is a good couple. Others feel the same way about Tali/Garrus. They don't want to see it in their game the same way you don't want Tali/Shepard in yours. Why should the option to discourage it (like you can with both Joker/EDI and Donelly/Daniels) not exist? More choice in an RPG is always a good thing, right?

This seems like an admission of trolling to me. And from what I've seen, most of the insulting or rude posts seem to be on the pro-couple side (see that "aren't you a couple of dicks" post that's been quoted a million times thus far).

After all, I apologized for what I said, and would rather that whole unpleasant exchange not be brought up again. We're all adults here (well, maybe not; can't tell age through a screen), and from here on out should all treat each other in a respectful manner (whether or not it is reciprocated).

Anyway, to be on-topic, the notion that everyone who doesn't like the pairing does so because of jealousy is a false one. Many people (myself included) who dislike Tali/Garrus would be fine with Tali/Kal'Reegar, or Garrus/some female turian, etc.
