Since you didn't apologize, I should not be doing this, but I'll be nice and respond to this one thing you wrote.

I'm touched.  I've been acknowledged!!!!!!111lol!

You're a man among men.  Thanks for climbing down.  You're the apparent "authority" here so anything I could further say would be just superflous...   kinda like teaching a pig to sing, y'know - it wastes my time and annoys the pig.  But then you already knew that, Herr Doktor Obvious, ja

You're sooooo smart!  *pinches his widdle cheeks, no doubt mightily muttonchopped with authority*

Thanks.  It's been a fappy, fappy herpderpy slice of fapperyherpderpery.  Also, boring as hell... herpaderpfapptappery.

Also, do report me like a pvssy, won't you? That is your next step, is it not?  Or alert one of your minions.  You do have minions, nein?  After all, you've got me dead to rights or some such nonsense.

Prove Thou Thy Superiority!  Women will flock.  Men will kneel.  You have won on the Internet.

Congrabulations.

Herpdaperparappitydarptarterippityfappinglyfapperrificallyfappiderp.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, as I had said, getting back on topic -  the idea that Tali/Garrus couldn't/wouldn't/shouldn't work is generally a stupid one because it ignores the simple fact that it's wholly possible they can, could and certainly would work well together as as a couple should they have chosen it.  If neither is romanced, they do, and I for one am glad enough that Shepard is adult enough to be happy for them, even if some of those manipulating Shepard cannot be.

Talimancers aren't, but that's no surprise, and the talifappiheryderpatards are even less happy about it, which is also no surprise.

Tis truly been a slice, ya wonderful kids.  Stay real.

....Derp.

I think we can all assume Jakemacdon is a fan of the relationship, so to Bioware, this is the fan you're trying to appeal to by abandoning character consistencey and going for the lower denomination. They berate, insult, act way to insecure in their beliefs, post hundreds of posts with no substance and eventually walk away believing they've accomplised something but don't realize they hurt theirarguements after the 9th post. Enjoy your new fan base.

You'd be wrong.  All I ever said was getting your scrote in a twist over it was asinine.  You do realize that in the really real world, were such a thing possible, Tali wouldn't look at any of the Talislobberers twice, right? That the most True and Ardent of her Fans would be the ones to repel and embarass her the most?

I think its safe to say that her standards are much freaking higher.  She certainly wouldn't find the abysmal reading comprehensional skills displayed in BSN all that sexy either.

Yeah?  Sweet!  I'm popular!

Yeah, Bioware!  Give me stuff!  And things!  And things with stuff and stuff stuffed with things!

Naughty person!  You added stuff:

They berate, insult, act way to insecure in their beliefs, post hundreds of posts with no substance and eventually walk away believing they've accomplised something but don't realize they hurt theirarguements after the 9th post.

Or they simply realize that there are other agendas at work and don't feel like playing.  It's insidious, it really is.

Just to be sure: If you don't support the relationship, just say, "It was a forced relationship." If you don't think the relationship was forced, say anthing else.... most likely in a demeaning manner.

You can have whatever opinion you want, but if you insult someone for having their opinions, you're just a loudmouthed bigot whose opinion is overshadowed by the obvious sense of insecurity they have.

I'll probably never see this subplot anyway because the Tali romance subplot is always active in all my Shepards. =D

Boot up ME2.
Have Garrus die in the Collector Base.
Problem solved.

This was my solution. The only person I ever saw Tali in a relationship with, other than my Shep, was Kal'Reegar. But he's dead, my Sheps dead so its only fair that G-Money takes one for the team.

Am I a dick? Yeah.

Even though I romanced Tali in ME2 and 3 it was just weird the way she and Garrus were always carrying on every time I went to see her in engineering. I just went toe to toe with a Reaper to win back Rannoch and now she has nothing to say except "Hey." Really? And why the concern with some other woman giving G-Money some dextro chocolate?

So yeah. To the vents. But that playthrough will probably never be imported into ME3 anyway.

I dunno, I interpreted the chocolates thing as her thinking, "Hey, she gave him chocolates? She must really like him!" as opposed to "I have some competition." But that's just my read on it.  People like JakeMcDown will obviously disagree, because they interpret anything that happens in the game and in life as evidence that Tali and Garrus should be 2gthr4evr.

What I really didn't appreciate was Garrus making double entendres like "this gun needs calibrating" with her.  I was like, "you serious, bro?"  He seems like the type of guy who would be the best man at your wedding and then hit on your new wife at the reception.  Garrus lost major points with me on that one.

If a family of Leprechauns suddenly appeared on the Normandy prior to the final Reaper battle, you could justify this using your exact same logic.  "Well, there COULD be a planet of Leprechauns somewhere in the Mass Effect universe.  Joker MIGHT have travelled to the Leprechaun planet to pick them up while Shepard was out on a mission.  Things happen when Shepard isn't around; therefore, this is perfectly feasible."

So Kai Leng popping up on the Citadel can't happen either? Shepard didn't see him arrive there, did he? Shepard didn't see him go to bed the night before and then wake up on time this morning to start the invasion of the citadel.
All of the things Miranda does when you're not around her didn't happen either?
It's not like they're all waiting in a room, just hoping Shepard pops in so they can finally run to the bathroom. Hey, wait a minute. You never see anybody go and pee in ME3. Must be it can't happen when Shepard isn't around and certainly not behind closed doors. :(
(Sorry, the thought of that was horribly amusing to me.)

The story is based around Shepard and what he/she does. The people around him/her have an influence on him/her, but you don't know all they do in a day or when Shepard isn't around. They have thoughts, ideas and so forth as well.

I tend to write stories and if I had to write about what everybody, besides my PoV characters, did all day when my PoV characters were not around.... god, I'd go insane.

I don't give a sh!t what people believe, and you don't have the first clue what I believe, if anything, so don't presume to speak for me.

Just to be sure: If you don't support the relationship, just say, "It was a forced relationship."

Why would I say that if that is not my opinion?

If you don't think the relationship was forced, say anthing else.... most likely in a demeaning manner.

I'm being talked down to in BSN - BSN! - by people who support people who argue over whether Tali's sweat could go on your cereal. That's so rich it's almost comedy.

If I actually cared, I would probably get "angry" or something, but since this is BSN, I'm just shootin' the sh!t and watching the idiots snarl over the utterly inconsequential.  Do I feed the fires on ocassion?  Yup.  Do they get it when I do?  Nope.  They haven't a clue - just look at CwnDWnWTF down there laughing.

He thinks he's got my number, and it's actually kinda sad, because he has that same disease rife in this forum: it's called Selective Reading Syndrome.

It's how smug cretins think they win arguments their 'opponents" aren't actually arguing.  It's like going into a basement at midnight with no light to find a black cat that isn't there.  But they're so certain they're right, and so busy being superior they miss what is actually being said.

You can have whatever opinion you want,

Thank you.  I believe I shall.

but if you insult someone for having their opinions, you're just a loudmouthed bigot whose opinion is overshadowed by the obvious sense of insecurity they have.

That is very insightful.  Really.  All kidding aside.  When I do that unprompted (which people seem to think I've done because they suffer from SRS), you let me know, cool?

Sir - nicely done.  Concise and accurate - IN MY OPINION ALONE - and to the point.  Unfortunately, it appears that any character not directly acted on by Shepard does nothing until acted on - it's some gaming quasi-Newtonian thing, apparently.  I mean, I thought I was dealing with the story as a story, and not something tacked onto a game as an excuse to shoot stuff.

Live and learn, I guess.

It's very refreshing that someone thinks Mass Effect is actually the story of Mass Effect first.

by people who support people who argue over whether Tali's sweat could go on your cereal. That's so rich it's almost comedy.

I don't remember anyone making that arguement -- oh, yeah.  You make up comments to argue with because you have no relative point to the subject at hand.

If I actually cared, I would probably get "angry" or something, but since this is BSN, I'm just shootin' the sh!t and watching the idiots snarl over the utterly inconsequential.

I really hope you're being ironic.  If you don't  get the irony there, then I'm going to feel really awkward responding with words with more than 3 syllables.

Are you, like, 12? I never consider that a possibility on these things.  The swears made me think you were older, but your reasoning and maturity.....

Does he really say that? I don't remember that.

Though to be fair, Tali didn't come off any better in this so-called 'romance'. That voice she uses is so sleazy it gave me traumatic flashbacks to my FemShep salivating over Jacob. ::shudder:: I just think both of them sounded really out of character.
