You're making some grave assumptions here. It's legal obligation for them to ban accounts modifying their online games. Nowhere does it say that they'll be lenient just because you're making 'moral choices' regarding rewards.
Just be aware that any online game modding you do has potential to get you banned, and they'd be entirely within their right to do so.
I'm not assuming anything. Origin does not have an anti-cheat system in place, and neither does Mass Effect 3. The only way players are banned in Mass Effect 3s Multiplayer is through cheat reports, or the multiplayer team monitoring players, seeing if their N7 rank is flying through the roof, looking at store transactions etc. Unless they've got an amazing redundancy system in place that reads every line of code in the Coalesced.bin file, actively checking if the multiplayer content is modded, and not the singleplayer - I don't have a fear of being banned, just yet.
I'm fully aware that I can be banned at any time. It will be a sad day when I get banned, but at least I didn't get banned because I modified my Claymore to have one million damage, unlimited ammo and no recoil. I got banned because I made the game either harder to complete, or because I created a mod with no gain, but only Husk-Slaying-fun. I don't implore anyone to modify the multiplayer portion of Mass Effect 3 - Especially not credit hacking or giving yourself an unfair advantage over other players (weapon, power modding etc) but I do encourage people who try to make the game more challenging. I know plently of people who are tweaking Gold to be more challenging. And if either of us get banned for that, so be it. I've come to a point where the game is so easy to complete I basically need to modify it to make it harder. It's a good thing there are plenty of games coming out real soon I have an interest in playing, if I get banned that is.
