erm gents, i know and utterly understand why this was done, but have you checked EA's terms of use, cuz you may have breached a clause in it, by for all intensive purposes illegally modding the game that is not open source (an example of a game that is sinsofasolarempire.com). make sure you check/double check. and do expect a ban hammer or a repercussion of some form.

thanks, no offense but ur like the 20th person to bring up the TOS, we are aware of what we are doing and accept all repurcusions. We are taking a risk

We are fully aware that we're breaking the terms and conditions for the game. Modding should be implemented in a game like Mass Effect from the start, the fact that it's not implemented is ..stupid, IMHO. Modding games is one of the reasons people play on PC rather than consoles, it's one of the few privliges we have. Console players have games tailored for their respective consoles, we get poor done ports. The least we could get is the ability to modify our games without fearing the banhammer. I'm aware that I'll be banned pretty soon, but so be it. Playing the game "normally" doesn't cut it for me anymore.
That aside, it's a lot of fun.

Ports ruin games for pc. I hate consoles with a passion. They are ment for the casual gamer and I can't understand the logic behind them. Worse graphics, controls, load times, lack of moding, horrible multiplayer setups, unupgradable components, and much more. Every upgrade they get brings them closer to becoming a PC. Dur dur dur. How about just make a gaming pc?
Don't mind me though. I just wanted to vent about how ****ty consoles are because every time I get a pc game at GameStop they all feel the need to tell me consoles are better. I just laugh and walk away.
But hey, ZOMBIES

It's really sad that being creative and making the multiplayer more fun for yourself like this is discouraged rather than encouraged. Makes me lose faith in modern gaming completely. If this kind of attitude from developers (and even gamers..) keeps up I'll stop playing games.devildog0491 wrote...

(That would be cool, actually - if they changed the ToS to allow mods, but to do a hash check on the coalesced file. If it differed, you wouldn't be eligible for rewards, but you could still have fun with other people.)
