Device Mastery should be a General Skill, not a Rogue Talent.

Duh.
That's not what I meant.
Investing in deft hands gimps the combat potential of your rogue.

I'm retarded and completely misread your post, lol. I get what you're saying now, the first time I read it I thought you were saying something else entirely.

Definitely a no vote from me again. Personally I think they should have dropped the rogue nonsense and called them thieves like the good old days.

Judging by the icon design, both stealth and device mastery were originally skills.

Tbh, just having a min requirement of Dex and cunning that mages/warriors wouldn't have and voila, Rogue specific skills that don't waste talent points.

I somewhat agree with you, I do feel lock picking should be rogue specific however I also think stealing should be rogue specific as well, I wish trap disarming was included in the trap making skill instead of with "device mastery". Imo "device mastery" should be changed to "thievery" or something along those lines and include lock picking and stealing but not disarming.

Agreed.

Another option might be to switch up disarming and laying traps for these skills (ovbiously trap-making would need to be renamed to disable device or whatever). This way, if you were playing a warrior you could sense and disarm traps, but not set them which imo would be more useful to a warrior than being able to set them since you have more/better options for laying traps in stealth anyway. I dont think it is too bad the way it is now, but if I were  to change anything relating to these skills, that would be it.

While I may be annoyed at times when I can't open a chest (and believe that bash should have been included, complete with possibly damaged items) I do not think that lock picking should be available to warriors or mages. As has been stated, it's a class based system. Why bother if everybody can just do everything?

Just because it's a skill doesn't mean it is technically available to every class.

Just set the min requirements to require something like 16 dex/16 cunning. Mages/Warriors don't usually get that stuff.
