'Tis very strange that twitter seems to be the place that they reveal things - seems strange not to put it on here too. Sure more of us are on here than on twitter.

^^^Ditto^^^  After all, BSN is an OFFICIAL site for Bioware games, is it not?  Much more official than twitter.

^^^^Ditto and Ditto again^^^^ I am not a TwitFace so I am not privy to these unofficial "announcments"  You know, I realize many of us here have lost just about all faith in Bioware and the prevailing distrust and cynicism is completely justifiable, But I think that even a modicum of acknoweldgement here, officially, from Bioware that they made a mistake would go a long way in restoring some faith.

If there is a patch in the making to fix the SP EMS issue, then why not tell us officially?  Bioware has to know that the distrust is so very evident and every minute they hide and refuse to even appear to be listening to our concerns only drives people further away never to return.

I suppose they have maybe done some sort of study that will justify the loss of the single player customer being replaced by multiplayers.  And it seems almost obvious that is the future of this franchise....sadly.

Yep. Being able to repair the game means we don't have to suffer the consequences of bad design, but it doesn't make the design good.

Well as others have pointed out, it shouldn't be up to the players to fix the game, but more importantly for me is the fact that we were repeatedly assured that SP gamers wouldn't be locked out of anything, that all content was accessable via single player, and this is clearly not the case.

As a matter of principle, Bioware should fix their game because it's how they promised us it would work.

Completely agree tishyw, and with coolbeans.
I spent enough money on the PC, CE edition and I expected to be able to play the game SP only and be able to get all the achievements and endings, like Bioware said we could.

A workaround is not a fix.

And it does matter what platform, modding doesn't work on PS3 at all. (Unless there's been some major breakthrough in the last 24 hrs)

another post in this topic in the hope galactic readiness can be increased to 60%.

I dislike multiplayer that isn't local, don't force me to play it.

I don't have an IPad, don't force me to buy one.

I'm sure I won't be the only one to be really pissed off if they don't patch the EMS issue when they release the Rebellion DLC due out next week (or whenever), and instead we can only look forward to 2 new maps, 3 new weapons and 6 new classes for MP.

Yes, EA are a business and need to make money, but at the same time they need to remember that as individuals we are also fans and gamers and not just a financial statistic. Get the balance right! It's a quick fix to change the default readiness value to 60-65%, and if they don't do that (or some other change to fix the problem) when they release the incoming MP DLC, then that's a big middle finger to the community in my opinion.

If they dont patch it it will be interesting to hear the excuses about why they haven't... but I am still hanging on to the hope that it will get resolved within the next patch.

I am surprised this thread is even open. The other one was closed and we were redirected to the technical support forums. I'm not trying to jinx this thread, but I think it's odd. Maybe they'll patch this after all.

Yeah, right!

I think that may be a bit soon. It took a whole month just to convince them that there even was a problem.

I expect them to do something about it, but I'm not sure it's going to be with the first content patch (there were bugs cropping up that entire month when they refused to even entertain the possibility that they were wrong about EMS and that all their statements about the Galaxy at War system's effects on single-player were not truthful).

@devSin- fair point. The least they could do though if they don't release a fix, is to remove their collective heads from the sand and acknowledge the EMS problem actually exists, and that they're working on it. It's a 5 minute fix to increase default readiness to 65%, but if they choose to do it the 'proper' way and rebalance/recover missing assets then that could take some time. Please, Bioware, at least realise there is a problem and put our minds at ease by admitting so!

Just adding my voice. Just completed the game and was very surprised that some endings and achievements were unavailable for single player campaigns. It should never be a requirement to do multiplayer, that's just alienating half of your players.
I can get onboard with the push to DLC, because there's nothing wrong with monetizing added value to a game, but to be denied core elements in the game because you don't want to play with other people? That doesn't make sense to me.

Agree!

For the life of me, I cannot understand why Bioware has not acknowledged this OFFICIALLY.   To me, the utter silence - pretending this is an "invisible" issue - leads me to believe they don't think anything is wrong (perhaps because there isn't a problem - this was intentional all along).

Speculation on my part, I know.  But what is one to think when we haven't heard anything about this for more than two months?

If Bioware doesn't have anything to hide, why aren't they speaking to their customers in an OFFICIAL manner, letting us know where things currently stand.  It makes no sense NOT to.

first time posting here, but i am wondering has there been a patch or fix to this? all they have to do is raise it in sp or all together to 65% which would give you the bare minimum EMS (if you do all the sidequests) to get the "better ending" for lack of a better way to describe it. i'm really saddened by this game and have not touched it since beating it back in march.

Welcome!
We all share you're confusion on why this seemingly simple problem hasn't been fixed yet also the sadness of having done 1 play of a game that usually lasts 100 hours on each installment
To answer your question their is no patch as of yet, details of a new patch should emerge next week but there is no word on if it'll fix this issue

There are also unofficial fan fixes around. Someone recently posted a link to a YouTube vid where a guy changed Diana Allers to be worth a couple thousand WA points.

So this is a non-spoiler forum. I will try to get around this best I can.

I honestly think there is a glitch/bug toward the end. According to someone with Bioware. You are supposed to get extra war assets(something like 1000) if you talk you know who down. Basically have him go Saren on himself. If you are able to talk him down. There has to be some reward for it.

I have had enough persuasion to do this in one playthrough. I never got that particular ending. I didn't have enough persuasion in another and got the samething as the previous playthrough. This lead me to believe that the convo toward the end is the source of all our troubles. That is what Bioware will likely need to fix.

I'm pretty sure this is working.

You need 5,000 EMS to get the final ending variation. If you make the final reputation check, however, then you can get it even if you only have 4,000 EMS.

Nice therory but I believe it was debunked in an earlier thread.  The incident that you speak of gives 1,000 points, and you need 5,000 EMS to get the extra scene.  If you don't have 4,000 before the Cerburus base mission (which is when the game calculates the total), then you miss the extra scene regardless of the outcome with the person mentioned above.
The problem is there aren't enough assets in the game to get the 4,000 points needed for the extra 1,000 to give you the extra scene.
