I was just wondering because I always thought it would have been cool for Shepard to have a son or daughter at the end of the games (obviously that's not going to happen). I think I read here and there that Quarians and Turians cannot reproduce with humans (I romanced Tali, and if I played as FemShep I'd romance Garrus). Anyone know if that's true.

yes. Probably wouldn't stop them from trying though

Well, there have been no known half breeds. I'm pretty sure they can't but that doesn't mean you can't try, at your own health risk overcourse.

It's impossible for humans to reproduce with all other known species. Technically Asari can reproduce with humans but humans can't reproduce with asari. (Yes it's pretty f***ed up!)

With Dextros it's even more impossible, because our body chemistry is different down to the base building blocks.

If synthesis is possible then everything else is also possible.

Btw, Miranda is infertile, so the only squad members you can get pregnant are Ashley and Liara (kinda).

They're not genetically related in the slightest, so no, it's not possible.
Viable hybrid individuals are only produced from two species which are closely related genetically (for example, a donkey and a horse), and the offspring is not fertile.
Humans share no genetic history with Quarians or Turians, or even Asari and Drell, so they can't reproduce.
Asari reproduction is wierd and doesn't produce hybrids, so it's not relevant to this.

You can get Jack pregnant, no reason was ever given to say you can't. Unless her very open lifestyle and multiple partners ended up getting in the way of that.

Yep, Asari and human are the only kind of babies that humans can make. Not worth the risk of anaphylactic shock to try for any others imo.

Yeah, if you pick the synthesis ending

Fixed that for you. Ligers e.g. are known to be fertile.

Oh yeah, keep forgetting she's a LI. The game bugged for me on my first playthrough, so couldn't square things over between her and Miranda, even though I had full paragon.

Adopt some. Not to be morbid, but there's probably plenty of orphans to go around following the reaper invasion.

Supposedly not, but seeing all that space magic at the ending, anything can happen.

Can humans reproduce with chimpanzees?
No. Of course not.
And still humans and chimpanzees share about 98 to 99 percent of their DNA.
That is alot more then we share with the Quarians and Turians I would guess. We do not even share the same building blocks of proteins.

Bah. Miranda brought a human back to life. It's laughable to assume she can't cure her own condition if she wants. The infertility was a cheap shot by the writers, badly thought through.

Apparently we can mix synthetic DNA (:D) with organic DNA, so I guess with sufficient space magic we can also make a turian-human baby.

One of the basic definition of species is whether they can produce offspring. So no... If something is a different species then it can't produce offspring.

Agreed, if nothing else, she would probably be able to create an artificial egg from her DNA or something.
